These offences were aggravated by his prior convictions, the vulnerability of the children depicted, and his involvement with others for sharing images. The images were found on undeclared mobile phones while he was under a previous suspended sentence for making and distributing indecent images and sexually abusing his pet dog. The crimes occurred between his previous prosecution in 2022 and early 2024.
Judge Richard Conley considered Vere's severe learning difficulties and potential exploitation by others. He was fined £250 for breaching his previous suspended sentence and must complete rehabilitation activities and mental health treatment.

Jay Lang, 24, of Canvey Island, Essex, posed as a 16-year-old girl on Snapchat and Instagram from 2019 to 2021 to target young boys aged 11 to 16. He engaged them in flirtatious then sexually explicit conversations, inciting them to send indecent photos and videos, which he secretly recorded. He then blackmailed them by revealing his true identity as a man, threatening to publish the images unless they sent more explicit material or cash. He sexually abused one victim in person after driving him to a secluded location in a van. He blackmailed another into filming a sex act with a friend and demanded £2,000 from at least one victim. Police found 540 videos and 140,000 images on his phone, identifying 220 potential victims, with 26 providing evidential accounts. The case came to light in November 2021 after one victim reported it.
Pleaded guilty to 46 offences including causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, blackmail, causing or inciting child sexual exploitation, arranging or facilitating commission of a child sex offence, and causing or inciting child prostitution or pornography. Made subject to an indefinite sexual harm prevention order and ordered to sign the sex offenders’ register for life. Judge Samantha Cohen described him as a predatory, manipulative and dangerous young man who wreaked havoc through the lives of 26 young men and their families.

He was arrested and the substances were confirmed to be the same as those involved in the fatalities.

Tensions escalated when Jarvis attempted to take the chair, leading to an argument where she shouted racial slurs including 'black lives don’t matter' and 'black c****'. A fight broke out between the parties. Later, around 9.15pm, she was denied entry to the Hope Hotel by bouncer Toby Groom and returned an hour later, shouting abuse and spitting towards him, though it did not connect. She was arrested around 11pm that night.
Pleaded guilty to racially aggravated harassment and common assault. No previous convictions as an adult. Judge noted she has been subjected to abuse on social media due to being in the public eye. Defence lawyer stated she was celebrating after successful interviews and bumped into an old friend, leading to high spirits and regrettable actions.

Hannah Sindrey, 24, stabbed Paul Fletcher, 31, to death at her flat in Worcester Drive, Rayleigh, Essex, in the early hours of January 1, 2021, during a New Year’s Eve party. The incident occurred after Mr. Fletcher, under the influence of cocaine and paranoid about infidelity, took Sindrey’s phone and one belonging to her friend. Six children were present in the flat at the time, including Sindrey’s two children and her friend’s four children.
Convicted of murder after a trial. Senior investigating officer Julie Gowen stated that her actions destroyed the lives of the victim's family, friends, and her own family.

Robert Crow, 71, was convicted of 18 offences relating to dangerous and insanitary living conditions in 2018 and was banned from letting the property in Southend, permitted only family members and long-standing friends to visit. In January 2019, council officers found up to nine tenants in various rooms, including one working for Crow in return for accommodation and a woman renting from him, with signs of domestic activity such as washing hanging out to dry. Crow was in substantial mortgage arrears on the property.
Admitted breaching the lettings ban. Judge Andrew Hurst commented that he had blighted the lives of those around him and the ban was to protect them. In mitigation, it was said he fell behind in obligations, reported anti-social behaviour, and was overwhelmed by tenants.

Keith Banks, while awaiting deportation from Australia and held in a detention centre, used an email account in September 2019 to arrange a meeting with a child in Essex for sexual abuse purposes. In November 2019, he travelled from Bow to Rayleigh to meet the child but was arrested by officers from the Police Online Investigation Team. At no point was a child in danger of being abused.
Pleaded guilty to trying to arrange or facilitate a child sex offence and breaching a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Investigating officer described him as a dangerous offender posing a real risk to children.
