2.5 years imprisonment

He then returned to his flat via the lift. The chair's flame-retardant material caused the fire to extinguish naturally before spreading. The incident was discovered around 10pm by another resident who noticed a black sticky mess under the chair. CCTV footage identified McGuire, who was arrested and initially claimed it was an accident while trying to find a rat with a match. The act was described as a cry for help due to depression and loneliness, with no intention to harm anyone.
