On Saturday 27 July 2024 at around 8.20pm, Oakley Daniell followed the victim, whom he knew, as he exited Sainsbury’s in Falmouth with his nan and walked towards her car. After a brief verbal exchange, Daniell punched the victim in the face, forcing him backwards, then punched him again, knocking him towards the floor, before kicking and kneeing him. Daniell continued with further blows as the victim attempted to defend himself on the ground, then walked away, leaving the victim on the floor. The victim was taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital and has undergone numerous operations to his eye, continuing to suffer from the effects nearly a year later.
Pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm.

Adrian Walker, 27, of Alverton Road in Penzance, engaged in conversations on the social media site Discord containing sadistic language about child abuse on several dates in August 2024. He breached a sexual harm prevention order from August 2023 by using Discord and Reddit without permission and deleting Discord to hide his internet history. On May 24, 2024, he engaged in a conversation with a girl he believed was 13 years old and attempted to make her look at an image of a person engaging in sexual activity. Police found 13 still prohibited images of a child and one moving prohibited image on his phone during a random search.
Pleaded guilty to five counts of publishing an obscene article, two counts of breaching a sexual harm prevention order, an attempted breach of a sexual harm prevention order, possessing a prohibited image of a child and attempting to cause a child aged 13 to 15 to watch/look at an image of sexual activity. Placed on the sex offenders register for life. Judge Simon Carr noted Walker could interact with the abuse of children in cartoon form and repeated the joy he was getting from the images.

He was part of a group of approximately 50 people walking up Royal Parade towards an opposing group. While on the floor, the officer was kicked in the head by another individual before being helped up by colleagues.

On Sunday 25 January 2024 at around 9.15pm, Yordan Stanchev, a 26-year-old Bulgarian national of no fixed abode, followed a 17-year-old girl he did not know into an alleyway near Launceston College in Launceston. He sprinted towards her as she tried to run away, caught up, pushed her against a metal fence, and sexually assaulted her. The victim fought back bravely, injuring his face. Possibly disturbed by a dog walker, Stanchev fled the scene. The victim ran to safety and police were called by a relative. Officers conducted an area search and located Stanchev based on her description and his earlier call to police claiming he had been attacked outside Lidl. He had a matching facial injury and his phone was in the area at the time of the offence. The victim positively identified him, leading to his immediate arrest, charging, and remand.
Pleaded guilty to sexual assault. Must sign the Sex Offenders’ Register for life. Restraining order in place to protect the victim. Likely to be deported after sentence. Judge Simon Carr described the offence as 'every woman’s worst nightmare' and noted the victim's exceptional bravery in fighting off the attacker who intended to commit an even more serious offence. Stanchev possessed misogynist views and targeted the victim at random as revenge for believing his wife was having an affair.

Ross Stone, co-defendant of Thomas Haigh, was involved in the aftermath of the murders of David Griffiths and Brett Flournoy at Sunny Corner Farm, Trenance Down, St Austell, Cornwall, in June 2011. After Haigh shot the victims, Stone burned their bodies and buried them in their van on the property to cover up the crime. He confessed during a police interview on 1 July 2011 after an unrelated drugs raid uncovered his cannabis operation.

Thomas Haigh, a former cage fighter from Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, murdered David Griffiths and Brett Flournoy, two gangland enforcers, by shooting them dead at Sunny Corner Farm, Trenance Down, St Austell, Cornwall, in June 2011. The victims were pressuring Haigh over £40,000 drug debts and to make a trip to collect drugs in Brazil. Haigh acted alone in the killings, then fled, leaving co-defendant Ross Stone to burn and bury the bodies in their van. The bodies were discovered after Stone confessed during a police interview following an unrelated drugs raid on 1 July 2011.
Pleaded not guilty but convicted after a four-week trial. Judge Mr Justice Mackay described him as an 'arrogant young man' who got out of his depth in the criminal underworld. Appeal in 2013 reduced minimum term to 32 years. Died in prison on 15 March 2026.
