Williams pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A and class B drugs and possession of criminal property. He also bombarded a 15-year-old girl from South Wales with messages between Christmas and New Year, persistently asking for naked pictures of her breasts and bottom despite her disclosing her true age; she sent some but they never met.

Dale Hicks, 35, of Cheadle, Stoke-on-Trent, abused his position as treasurer of charity Life Keys by lodging false Gift Aid repayment claims between 2014 and 2016, stealing over £270,000. He diverted the money into his own bank account and spent at least £76,000 on cruises and luxury holidays, which he posted about on social media. The charity became suspicious when large sums arrived and were moved on, and he was asked to step down in March 2016. He made false claims in the name of the charity's chief executive, which were 30 times higher than actual donations. He also attempted to change the charity's nominated bank account to one under his control. He claimed he spent the money on good causes, including a church and humanitarian aid, but his bank accounts showed large payments to a travel firm. At Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court, Judge Paul Glenn jailed him for three years, saying he had lied to cover his tracks and that his actions deprived deserving causes of funds.

He deliberately drove the car at him at speed, hitting him at the junction with Beresford Road. The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries. It was described as a targeted attack. Abdulla drove away but returned to the scene later that day and was arrested after presenting himself to officers.
Previously admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving, found guilty of wounding with intent after a trial. Also received a driving ban of almost 12 years.

She had made repeated threats to 'torch' the block following neighbour complaints about her abusive and noisy behaviour. The blaze caused £1,850 worth of damage but firefighters arrived within four minutes and found her asleep on a mattress.

Another customer intervened. Next day at 3pm at Hanley Farmfoods on Leek Road, selected meat worth £131.92, manager recognised him and called 999, saw him holding metal bar in pocket, did not approach. Arrested January 11. Of no fixed address.

Mitigating: no intentional swing of hammer, first time in prison prior to remand, personal circumstances including bereavement, homelessness, alcohol and drug use. Judge Richard McConaghy noted defendant produced hammer at Co-op, grappled and kicked worker, and reached into pocket with metal bar at Farmfoods.

Anthony Wright, of Alcester Close, Chell Heath, was linked to the drugs and group by a phone top-up voucher, repeated calls following the warrant, fingerprints and DNA on bags containing crack cocaine and a taped package of 994 grams of heroin, and evidence on his phone of supplying cannabis and cocaine.

Ashley Attwood attended a barbecue in Stoke-on-Trent on 18 August 2018 where numerous people were present. Instead of going back to Eccleshall, Attwood went to have drinks at a house in Trentham. He was drinking with a man at the property. At around 3:20am, the victim was woken from her sleep upstairs at the property. She was sexually assaulted and, as she stirred, saw Attwood, who was not wearing trousers, run from the bedroom. Attwood was told to leave. He later messaged the man he’d been drinking with about the incident. Following arrest, Attwood’s phone was seized and, when forensically examined, it was found that 11 images of the victim had been deleted.
Pleaded guilty at the start of his trial. Aged 51, from Eccleshall.

Aaron Michael Edwards, a 42-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent, was arrested in April 2023 after police attended a property and seized his mobile phone. Forensic examination revealed 291 Category A indecent images of children, the most serious classification. He initially denied knowledge but later pleaded guilty at Stoke-on-Trent Crown Court on 19 February 2024 to making indecent photographs and pseudo-photographs of a child.
