She had been warned at least twice about inappropriate conversations and flirtatious behaviour, including play fighting with a pupil. Harris tricked the boy's parents by pretending to be the mother of his fictional girlfriend. The sexual activity occurred in a supermarket car park in December 2019 and January 2020. She was caught after the boy's older brother discovered the relationship in January 2020, alerting the parents.
Convicted of one count of sexual activity with a child. Placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely. Judge found her behaviour was an abuse of trust and constituted grooming. She disregarded warnings about inappropriate behaviour. Defence argued she did not intend to cause harm and regrets her actions.

He advertised the goods on a personal eBay account and posted them to buyers from a local post office, even using the company’s franking machine. The thefts were discovered in March 2018 after colleagues noticed stock appearing and disappearing from under his desk. An internal investigation revealed he had sold 1,040 items, and police searches of his car and home in St Neots, Cambridgeshire, found additional stolen items ready to be posted.

Following a trial at St Albans Crown Court, he was convicted of four counts of rape, one count of sexual assault by penetration, grievous bodily harm, two counts of coercive and controlling behaviour, threats to kill, and actual bodily harm. The abuse began in March 2020 with an assault and escalated into repeated beatings and degradation. In December 2022, Wright inflicted serious, life-changing injuries on the victim during an altercation at her home. Further violent episodes occurred in 2023 and 2024. The victim ended the relationship on 31 December 2024 and Wright was arrested on 8 July 2025. He received a 20-year prison sentence.

He was convicted of rape, sexual communication with a child, seven counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, and four counts of causing a child to watch a sexual act. Sentenced at St Albans Crown Court on 3 November 2023 before Judge Caroline Wigin, who noted the catastrophic impact on the victim and the immense pressure applied. Sahinur's developmental, learning, and potential autism difficulties led to a reduction from 13 years to 11.5 years' custody with concurrent terms.

She disclosed the details to police in 2019, leading to Suter's arrest and charge in January 2021.

On Saturday 5 August 2023, Daniel Coburn, driving a white Ford Transit drop-side vehicle on Standon Hill on the A120 at Standon, veered onto the wrong side of the road and collided with a red Kia Picanto driven by 81-year-old Bethan Fraser-Andrews, who died at the scene. Coburn was over the limit for alcohol, cocaine and MDMA, and had been using his phone in the minutes leading up to the collision, including engaging in sexual acts and conversations while driving.
Initially pleaded not guilty but changed plea to guilty at a later case management hearing. Also received a driving ban of 13 years and four months with a mandatory extended retest. Judge Francis Sheridan described it as one of the worst cases of dangerous driving he had seen and told Coburn: “You should never have been behind the wheel of any vehicle, let alone a commercial vehicle while intoxicated through alcohol and drugs.”

Oral rape of a girl under 13 *

Omar Hasan groomed a girl aged six or seven in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, by giving her chocolates and showing her pornography on his mobile phone. He sexually abused her on four occasions, including oral rape, attempted rape, exposure, sexual assault of a child under 13, causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, and causing a child to watch a sex act. He was caught by another adult on the last occasion and police were called. Previously lived in Luton, Bedfordshire and Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
Convicted by a jury. Judge Caroline Wigin noted he continues to deny offending and shows no remorse. Described as a dangerous paedophile.

Nigel Holmes, 54, from West Yorkshire, was convicted of serious sexual offences against vulnerable women in Stevenage, Hertfordshire, while employed there. He met victims in pubs, offered them work to create indebtedness, and integrated into their social lives. He was found guilty of one count of rape, one count of sexual assault by penetration, and four counts of sexual assault. Holmes had a history of sexual offending, including a previous victim under 16. He was sentenced on October 21 at St Albans Crown Court.

Nazmi Velia
Conspiracy to facilitate illegal immigration *

Nazmi Velia was a ringleader in a conspiracy to smuggle migrants across the Channel from France and Belgium to the Kent coast between April and August 2018. On 3 August 2018, a rigid hulled inflatable boat was stopped at Deal, Kent, with four Vietnamese migrants on board. The gang operated dangerously, showing callous disregard for safety, with migrants clinging to straps without lifejackets in pitch darkness. Velia masterminded the operation, exploiting migrants for labour and financial gain.

Michael Petrou
Sexual assault of a child under 13 *

Michael Petrou sexually assaulted a girl under 13 in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, between July and October 2015. On three separate occasions, he touched her and exposed himself. The victim disclosed the incidents five years later, leading to an investigation. She suffered profound emotional impact, becoming withdrawn and her school work suffering. At sentencing, the court heard Petrou was under the influence of drugs at the time of the offences.
Judge Grey remarked: 'You have avoided custody by the very skin of your teeth.' Petrou was also ordered to complete 250 hours of unpaid work, a 30-day rehabilitation activity requirement, and 34 sessions of a sex offender course. Defence counsel argued the offences were committed when Petrou was young and under the influence of drugs.

On the evening of Monday 22 May 2017, Bromfield, then aged 19, and King, then aged 17, were out socialising with a group of young people in Watford, including the victim aged 14. The victim got into Bromfield’s silver Nissan Primera to change her outfit with privacy, but Bromfield and King drove her to an unknown location in Watford before taking it in turns to rape her inside the vehicle.
Found guilty of one count of rape and one count of sexual assault by penetration after a week-long trial. Placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register.
