He also distributed cannabis and attempted to fraudulently acquire £1.5 million in government grants. During arrest, he tried to escape by driving at officers. A search of his home on Grove Road, Pinner, Middlesex, revealed substantial cash, herbal cannabis, cocaine, and empty wrappings testing positive for cocaine traces, with phone images showing they had contained kilo blocks of cocaine. The group also used cash to pay for stolen metal and sought grants to divert funds to criminal ventures.
Pleaded guilty on the first day of trial to money laundering and conspiracy to supply Class A and B drugs. Attempted to escape by driving his car at arresting officers.

During a police warrant in Dellfield in October 2023, he was found with 50 wraps of crack cocaine with a street value of about £1,000, along with cash, multiple phones, and scales. He attempted to flush the drugs down the toilet when officers arrived.
Found guilty after a trial. Had a significant role in running the Dee drugs line and used a vulnerable woman's address as a base of operations.

Barancan Nurcin, aged 22, drove a stolen Citroen Dispatch van the wrong way along the M25 near St Albans in the early hours of 4 February 2024, causing a head-on collision that killed his passenger Fahad Dek and Zoe Hawes, aged 39, and seriously injured four others including Zoe's husband Wayne Hawes. Prior to the crash, police pursued Nurcin after he was alerted to the stolen vehicle; pursuits on the M1 and M25 were abandoned due to dangerous driving, including speeds up to 80mph in urban areas and driving against traffic. Nurcin fled the scene but was apprehended shortly afterwards on a bridge above the motorway.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, four counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, two counts of causing death whilst unlicensed, two counts of causing death whilst uninsured, breach of a suspended sentence order for causing Grievous Bodily Harm, and causing fear or provocation of violence. Also disqualified from driving for 20 years.

Razvan Balasoiu was driving a black BMW 316L at speed in wet conditions while under the influence of alcohol on the A602 between Hitchin and Stevenage in November 2023. He failed to notice the road changing from a dual carriageway to a single-lane road, striking a silver Toyota Corolla, which caused it to spin out of control and hit a Hyundai IX35. This resulted in the death of a woman in her 50s at the scene and serious, life-changing injuries to a woman in her 60s, who required significant hospital treatment.
Pleaded guilty to the charges. Detective Constable Felicity Walker commented on the tragic consequences of his reckless driving under the influence of alcohol.

Jason McInerney, 36, from Chessington, assaulted his ex-partner from Hertfordshire over several days in Marbella, Spain, in July 2023. Terrified by his violent behaviour, the victim tried to alert pharmacy staff. He then stabbed her in the leg while in his car. She threw herself out of the moving car at 70mph, was dragged down the road while he held her arm, and eventually escaped to alert a member of the public who took her to a beach bar where police were called. McInerney retained her belongings and passport. She returned to the UK on 10 July 2023 with British Consulate support, met by Hertfordshire police, and was treated for friction burns, a leg laceration, and spinal fractures. The prosecution used CCTV from the pharmacy and beach club, medical evidence, and victim accounts.
Pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Described as one of the most dangerous offenders encountered by investigating officer.

Adam Depra, aged 30 and of no fixed address in Letchworth, attempted to rape a victim he knew in Stevenage in July 2023. He had given her a lift earlier that day and later insisted on coming to her address despite her reluctance. After she became dizzy and unwell from drinking alcohol, he refused to leave, manhandled her on the bed while she vomited, removed her clothes, and made attempts to rape her despite her pleas to stop. She escaped to a friend’s house and was later hospitalised. The incident was reported to police on July 21, 2023. Additionally, Depra pleaded guilty to an unrelated actual bodily harm (ABH) assault that occurred in Stevenage in September 2020.
Placed on the sex offenders’ register for life and will be deported after sentence. Pleaded guilty to the ABH assault and was found guilty by a jury for the attempted rapes.

He drove dangerously, crashing into several cars on the A405 North Orbital Road near the M1 junction between Watford and St Albans, then abandoned the vehicle. He attempted to take another car by threatening seven people with a knife, jumping on their bonnets, and punching one victim. He was arrested on October 10, 2023, in Waterhouse Street, Hemel Hempstead.
Stole a vehicle at knifepoint and drove dangerously, causing a multi-car crash. Sergeant Krisztina Gulyas highlighted the lasting impact on victims.

On October 21, 2023, during a routine traffic stop on Hornhill Road, Maple Cross, a male police constable stopped Tyler McQuarrie's hired Ford Kuga. McQuarrie was detained under the Misuse of Drugs Act after cannabis was found in his pocket. He suddenly punched the officer, breaking his jaw, eye socket, and cheekbone, before driving away. The officer was left injured but attempted to stop him with a taser. McQuarrie was arrested in Luton the next day.
Admitted GBH, drug possession with intent to supply for cocaine and cannabis, and cannabis possession. No separate penalty for cannabis possession. Showed zero remorse.
Zaheer Abbas

Zaheer Abbas assisted and encouraged his cousin Husnein Amjad to murder Amjad Hussain. He groomed and manipulated Husnein into committing the act. On October 28, 2021, Amjad Hussain, 52, was found with serious injuries in an upstairs bedroom in Watford and was pronounced dead shortly after. Abbas was arrested on June 20, 2024, following extensive enquiries and was convicted after a trial lasting nearly eight weeks.
Pleaded not guilty but was convicted by a unanimous jury. The sentence was greater than that of his co-defendant due to aggravating factors, as noted by Detective Chief Inspector Sam Khanna.

His home was searched after arrest, and digital items were seized.
Pleaded guilty to five counts of possession/making indecent images of a child and three counts of misconduct in a public office. Given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and put on the Sex Offenders Register for 10 years. Sacked as a police officer two weeks prior to sentencing.

Pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine and heroin), for which she received 45 months imprisonment on each count to run concurrently. Found guilty of murder after claiming self-defence.
