A police warrant executed at her home on Lightburn Avenue uncovered mobile phones and laptops containing more than 2,000 indecent images of children, with over 700 classified as the most serious category, alongside an extreme pornographic image and a prohibited image of a child. Chadwick had been communicating online with others about child sexual abuse and selling indecent images. She was charged with three counts of making indecent images of children and three counts of distributing them. At Preston Crown Court, a jury found her guilty, and she was sentenced to three years in prison.

He used search terms including '13yo' and 'girl w***' and breached his Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) from Gloucester Crown Court by deleting search history and failing to hand over devices during a routine police visit on August 6, 2020. Devices revealed 74 Category A images of pre-pubescent girls aged two-four, three-six and six-10, along with use of virtual software to hide activity.

Pleaded guilty to deleting data in breach of his SOPO and four counts of possessing indecent images of children. Has two previous convictions for 15 offences. Judge Simon Medland QC noted persistent breach offending close in time to his 2018 community order.

Possession of indecent images of children and breach of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order *

Lee Ramsay, 41, formerly of Parliament Street, Morecambe, was found in possession of thousands of indecent images of children. He had been made subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) in January 2024. In July and October of the previous year, his offender manager from Lancashire Police seized his mobile phones. Examination revealed more than 3,000 indecent images, many featuring children, including 1,159 of the most serious Category A images. The phones contained browsers with private search facilities and VPN software, enabling Ramsay to hide his identity online, in breach of the SHPO. He also used a live streaming service without authorisation, further breaching the order. He pleaded guilty at Preston Crown Court and was sentenced to a total of four years and four months in prison.

Pleaded guilty to six indecent images offences and eight breaches of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order. The order was imposed in January 2024. Offender manager seized phones in July and October of the previous year, revealing over 3,000 indecent images (1,159 Category A). Ramsay used software with VPN and private browsing to hide his identity, breaching the order.

Mustafa Safi, 19, together with Adil Khan, carried out a series of knife-point robberies in Preston and Chorley over four days in November. On 10 November at the Premier Store on Avenham Lane, Preston, Safi threatened staff with a knife while Khan stole around £500 cash and 70 packets of cigarettes. On 12 November, they attempted to rob Vanikas on Langton Road but fled empty-handed after staff resisted. On 13 November, at Best One on Pall Mall, Chorley, Safi used a knife to take about £200 while Khan kept watch. Minutes later, they attempted to rob One Stop on Brindle Street, Chorley, but were foiled by a customer. Police later found knives in a nearby bin with DNA linking both men. They were arrested in Kent on 20 November.

Pleaded guilty to robbery, attempted robbery, and possession of knives in public. The judge emphasised the seriousness of the offences, citing the use of weapons and the threat posed to shop staff.

His behaviour was described as changeable, extremely violent, and threatening.

A 53-year-old man from Morecambe, residing on Elkin Road, pleaded guilty to making indecent images and videos of children. The offences occurred in Preston in 2020. Mynott admitted making 111 Category A photographs of a child (the most serious category), 97 Category B movies, and 1,185 Category C movies, contrary to the Protection of Children Act 1978.

Raping a child under 13 *

Nigel Turner, from Morecambe, Lancashire, repeatedly raped and sexually assaulted two young children on multiple occasions. He distributed multiple indecent images of the children (IIOC), including images showing him sexually abusing one of the children, via an online messaging app using a false name account. Officers seized his phone upon arrest in November 2021, finding images and videos of the rapes, assaults, and sexual activity in front of the children. He was identified as the suspect from clothing, jewellery, and voice recognition despite his face not being visible.

Pleaded guilty to all 21 charges. Given a lifetime Sexual Harm Prevention Order and put on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

On Thursday 17 April 2025, a woman in her early 20s finished work in Leyland and was approached by Neil Reid, 43, of Towngate, Leyland. He got into the front passenger seat of her car, threatened her with a knife, and forced her to drive to Sephton Street, Lostock Hall, where he raped her. The victim managed to escape and ran to a nearby pub for help. Reid stole her car and later broke into a house in Preston armed with the knife, demanding keys to another car before fleeing empty-handed. He was identified via CCTV and charged two days later.

Pleaded guilty to two counts of rape, two counts of attempted robbery, kidnap, committing an offence with intent to commit a sexual offence, and threatening another with a blade. Also given an extended licence of eight years. Detective Inspector Ian Derbyshire described Reid as a 'dangerous sexual predator' and said he showed no remorse.

Mathew Gilkes, a former teacher, was arrested after being seen taking covert photographs of children in a leisure centre changing room on 1 August 2024. Over 80 electronic devices were recovered containing over 5,000 indecent images and videos of children, including upskirting offences. He had also used fake social media accounts to groom girls under 16. He pleaded guilty on 12 November 2025.

Michael Shaw broke into the home of two women in Ormskirk, Lancashire, in February by climbing through a bathroom window. He crouched in the bathroom with his trousers down to his knees and genitals exposed. The women discovered him around 1.20am when one saw his reflection moving in the bathroom mirror. After being ordered to leave, he performed a sex act outside the property before departing. He was arrested the following day.

Michele Scappaticci, 58, of Lancaster Drive, Clitheroe, carried out a campaign of rape and sexual abuse against a young girl over a four-year period, ending in 2025. He raped or sexually abused the child on more than 30 occasions, showed her pornography, and took indecent images of her. He hid 778 indecent images and videos in a password-protected app disguised as a calculator on his phone, including images of the victim and Category A images of children as young as toddlers. He pleaded guilty to 19 charges, including three counts of raping a child, four counts of assaulting a child under 13 by penetration, two counts of causing or inciting a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, and multiple counts of making, taking and possessing indecent images of children.

Pleaded guilty to 19 charges. Judge described him as predatory and manipulative, and found him not remorseful. Must serve at least two-thirds of the custodial term before parole consideration.

John Kenny, 30, of Watson Road, Blackpool, Lancashire, engaged in online conversations with individuals he believed were children or parents willing to facilitate abuse. Unbeknownst to him, these were undercover officers from Lancashire Constabulary. He attempted to arrange the sexual abuse of children, to cause a child to view images of sexual activity, and engaged in sexual communication. Following a police sting operation, he was arrested and admitted the offences. On 1 April 2023, at Preston Crown Court, he was sentenced to four years' imprisonment with an extended licence period of three years.

Pleaded guilty to arranging or facilitating a child sex offence, attempting to cause a child to watch an image of sexual activity, and attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child. Detective Constable Wayne Marshall described his behaviour as 'depraved' and stated the sentence reflects the gravity of his offending.

The offending progressed over 12 months, starting with attempting to kiss her, then inappropriately touching her over and under her clothes. The offences came to light in May 2020 after Best went missing from his home in Church Street, Accrington, Lancashire, and was arrested. The victim reported severe long-term impacts on her mental health, relationships and childhood.

Joe McCaldon, then 17, had passed his driving test only six days before the fatal crash on 11 December 2024. He picked up Max Greenhouse before collecting two other friends aged 16 and 17 and driving to nearby Clieves Hill in Aughton. He later drove away from Clieves Hill, speeding down a country lane before losing control and crashing into a farmhouse's stone wall shortly after 21:00 GMT. He was travelling at 57mph on a bend with a 40mph limit. Max Greenhouse, 17, died; the other two passengers were seriously injured.

Jordan Little, a 22-year-old autistic man from Blackpool, admitted four breaches of his sexual harm prevention order (SHPO) at Preston Crown Court. The SHPO, imposed until 2030, followed his involvement in child sex offences, including a police caution for possessing an indecent image of a child and an arrest for downloading and distributing Category A images. The breaches occurred when Little used an Xbox, gifted by his mother, to access the internet at his supported accommodation, despite a condition of the order prohibiting internet use. Staff had set up the device but failed to disable its internet capability. Police discovered the device connected to the internet in March 2023 after a probation officer raised concerns about suspicious YouTube searches. Examination revealed active Facebook and Instagram accounts and deleted chat history. He had previously breached the order, leading to two suspended sentences, and accessed the dark web while on bail. The judge imposed a six-month custodial term, stating Little would serve approximately eight to nine weeks before release on licence.

Pleaded guilty to four breaches of a sexual harm prevention order. The judge, who activated two prior suspended sentences, described the need for a 'short sharp shock'. Little has autism and the emotional intellect of a 15-year-old.

James Lorenzo King, then aged 28, groomed a 14-year-old girl online by boasting about a previous relationship with a girl of the same age, making her believe they were in a relationship. Between 2007 and 2011, he would pick her up from school and drive her to secluded spots in Darwen and Burnley for sex in his car, fully aware she was underage. He also transported her to Scarborough. Despite the victim repeatedly telling him to stop, King continued the assaults. In one incident, he held a knife to her throat after she refused his demand to have sex with his friends. He was sentenced for multiple counts of indecent assault and gross indecency.

Sentence is additional, to commence after completing an existing 13-year term imposed in 2019 at Leeds Crown Court for similar sexual offences. The judge at Preston Crown Court described King as a dangerous individual with a clear and sordid sexual interest in young girls. The victim was praised for her bravery throughout the trial.

James Nisbet-Ronson, a 35-year-old from Sefton Drive in Lancaster, committed multiple sexual offences against a young girl in the Morecambe area over a 12-year period in the early 2000s. The offences included rape of a child, causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity, and making indecent images of a child. He took photographs of the abuse.

Hugh Stanley Holt, 56, from Blackpool, was sentenced at Preston Crown Court on 20 March 2023 for attempting to engage in sexual communication with a child. The offence involved online grooming behaviour. He was arrested in January 2022 while residing in the Llanberis area of Gwynedd, North Wales, following reports of indecent behaviour. North Wales Police conducted the investigation.

Received lifelong notification requirements. Detective Constable Dominique Swift from North Wales Police said: 'We are pleased with the sentencing today which demonstrates that online offences are real and do have the same consequences as other physical offences.'

Jack Burns broke into the victim's property in Morley Road, Lancaster, at around 11pm on September 9, 2021, while she slept, and sexually assaulted her as she lay in bed.

Pleaded guilty to sexual assault and burglary. Judge ruled him to be a dangerous offender. Placed on the sex offenders register for life.

At around 4.04am on August 9 last year, emergency services were called to a stabbing on Church Street, near the Slug and Lettuce in Preston. A 21-year-old man suffered a deep cut to his arm. Harry Orton, 21, was charged with Section 18 wounding with intent and possession of a knife. The victim's injury was described as 'really significant' and detectives said it was only good fortune he was not more seriously hurt or killed. Orton was sentenced at Preston Crown Court on Tuesday June 2.

Comprising five years' imprisonment and a three-year extended licence period. Also given a concurrent 18-month sentence for possession of a knife.

Harold Blackburn

Breach of a sexual harm prevention order *

Harold Blackburn, a 65-year-old convicted paedophile, breached his sexual harm prevention order imposed after his 2022 conviction for sending sexual images to a decoy posing as a 12-year-old girl. The order required him to notify police within three days of creating new social media or messaging accounts. In October 2023, he downloaded Zangi and Telegram apps without informing his probation officer, leading to his arrest on 19 October. He admitted failing to notify police.
