A twisted teaching assistant abused her position of trust to groom a vulnerable boy. Suspicions were raised around Terri Cook, from Bury, when a member of the public reported seeing her out with the child, who was of primary school-age. Greater Manchester Police launched an investigation, which uncovered how she had been grooming the boy and manipulating him into engaging in a sexual relationship. Officers discovered numerous messages on her phone which showed she had been inciting sexual communications with the boy. Cook, 38, was also found to have indecent images of the child. Police uncovered how Cook had bought the boy expensive items, including jewellery and clothing, over a nine-month period that she committed her crimes.

Pleaded guilty to eight charges of sexual offences.

In December 2021, 24-year-old Thomas Cooper of Tame Street, Denton, Greater Manchester, contacted a girl on Snapchat, groomed her online, arranged to meet her and engaged in sexual activity with her on two separate occasions. The incidents were discovered by the victim's family who alerted police. Cooper was arrested on 31 January 2022 in the Ashton-Under-Lyne area. In interview, he blamed the victim.

Pleaded guilty to the offences. Subject to a 10 year sexual harm prevention order and placed on the sex offender register for life.

Tiffany Eccles, 27, of Bury, Greater Manchester, with partner John Mills forced two girls as young as eight to watch them have sex as a 'demonstration' before Mills raped them. Involved in naked spin the bottle games, sex acts with the first victim while Mills watched. Present or aware during some rapes. Abused over four years until Covid-19 lockdown.

Admitted engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child under 13 and inciting a child to engage in sexual activity. Ordered to sign the Sex Offender Register, abide by an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order, restraining order. Acted under Mills' direction after emotional abuse.

Xhoi Kasaj, 30, was part of a gang that built a cannabis farm inside a fortified lock-up on Bilsley Street in Oldham, Greater Manchester. The unit contained 889 cannabis plants at various stages of growth with an estimated street value of £986,000. It was secured with CCTV, bypassed electricity, and included poor living quarters with bunk beds, cooker, fridge, and TV. Kasaj was found in the loft space and arrested by Greater Manchester Police.
