Catherine Hitchcock pulled into the path of a cyclist at a mini roundabout in Wimbledon, south-west London on February 10, causing the cyclist to fall forward onto their handlebars and off the bike, fracturing their wrists. She pleaded guilty to dangerous driving and admitted the cyclist had the right of way.

Mohammed Kudus was stopped by police on 30 April last year in Wood Lane, Romford, after an officer saw him holding and using a mobile phone while driving. The officer said Kudus was engaging with the illuminated screen and had a delayed reaction to traffic moving off. Kudus told police he had been setting up the Sat Nav function on the phone.

Convicted under the Single Justice Procedure; he did not enter a plea. A police officer saw him using a handheld mobile phone at the wheel.
