The judge noted he had performed a limited function under direction, pressure and coercion.

Przemyslaw Stojko, a 38-year-old Polish man from Gloucester, subjected a vulnerable woman to repeated rape, physical assaults, and coercive control between April and June 2017. He met the victim when she came to purchase cannabis. Stojko raped her twice, inflicted severe injuries including black eyes, a swollen jaw, bruising to her arms, legs, and breasts, and fractures to her fifth and sixth ribs. He locked her in his flat and choked her by pressing his elbow to her throat. Stojko hacked her Facebook account and posted explicit sexual videos and images, which the victim's mother discovered. He threatened the victim with a knife, demanding she contact the police to change her story and drop the case. The victim, who struggled with drug and alcohol issues, was found by police in an emaciated state. Stojko was convicted of two counts of rape, common assault, and witness intimidation after a trial, and sentenced to 12 years imprisonment.

He positioned cameras in toilet roll holders to focus on genital areas, capturing explicit moving images of women and some children using the toilet, particularly 'in the act of wiping'. Police found 200 images on his computer equipment. He was caught attempting to film up a victim's skirt using his phone attached to a ruler.
Pleaded guilty to one offence of attempting to possess an indecent image, two offences of possession of indecent images and twenty offences of voyeurism. Given a sexual harm prevention order and required to sign the sex offender register, both for life. No previous convictions.

Mohammed Bham

Police received information that Mohammed Bham was involved in the supply of Class A drugs. He was arrested on February 11 leaving a rented property in Barnwood, Gloucester, and getting into a Mercedes. A search of the property found cocaine, heroin, and around £3,000 in cash. His phone contacts led police to two self-storage units, where they found £100,000 in cash and further Class A drugs. In total, 755 grams of cocaine and 625 grams of heroin were seized, with an estimated street value of around £100,000. Officers also found air pistols, crossbows, and machetes. The weapons and drugs were destroyed. Bham's Mercedes and high-value designer clothes were also seized.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine and heroin) and one count of possession of criminal property. Also sentenced to four years for possession of criminal property to run concurrently. Will face a Proceeds of Crime hearing and be subject to a Serious Crime Prevention Order for two years upon release.

Between February 6 and 11, 2021, conversations escalated to asking for topless photos. Arrested February 26, 2021, after phone analysis confirmed messages. Attempted to open similar account post-interview.
Pleaded guilty. No previous convictions. Employed in warehouse for nearly three decades. Judge noted good character, long-term employment, but immature behaviour and indulgence in fantasy.
Iaon Ciolovic

On 9 December 2022, he lifted the top of a 13-year-old schoolgirl on another bus and stroked her stomach, commenting she must be cold.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault. First time in the dock. Judge Rupert Lowe described his behaviour as that of a 'creepy old man' and noted no remorse. Seven-year sexual harm prevention order and sex offenders register. Court costs £1,200.
Idris Amin
Possession and sale of illegal and counterfeit cigarettes *

Idris Amin, 32, leased a shop in Southgate Street, Gloucester using fake IDs and was found with the largest quantity of illegal and counterfeit cigarettes and tobacco seized by Gloucestershire Trading Standards. Officers raided the shop in 2023 and discovered one million cigarettes (50,000 packets) plus 500 packets of hand-rolling tobacco in his flat and lock-ups in Worcestershire. The goods had no duty paid, were counterfeit and incorrectly labelled. Amin could have sold them for over £260,000.
Admitted purchasing the haul for £90,000. Kurdish asylum seeker with difficult background, no previous convictions, mental health problems. Judge noted sophistication and planning of offences but considered mitigating factors.

Delaney Smart carried out a campaign of domestic violence against his wife between August and October 2023. On 18 August, he verbally abused and pushed his wife's friend at a pub. On 20 August, under the influence of alcohol and drugs, he damaged the family home, ripped a door off its hinges, and threatened to kill his wife in front of their children. After arrest and bail, he continued to harass her, phoning and emotionally blackmailing her, following her to a supermarket, confronting her at work, and threatening to slit her throat and burn down her house while she was inside. His wife was petrified and feared returning home.
Admitted criminal damage, assaulting his wife, assaulting her friend, and harassment. Prior convictions for assault and cocaine possession. Volunteer at Chepstow Town FC. Judge cited realistic prospect of rehabilitation. Five-year restraining order also imposed.

Geoffrey Poole, a former Gloucestershire police officer, was sentenced for a sex offence against a vulnerable 16-year-old girl. Poole, aged 51, admitted engaging in sexual intercourse with the teenager between February 18 and March 20, 2023. The court heard that he groomed the victim through flirtatious text messages after she had recently ended a relationship and was feeling low. They arranged to meet in woodland near Kempsford where they had unprotected sexual intercourse. The victim immediately regretted the act, ceased contact, and confided in her parents.
Admitted to having sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old girl he had groomed. Registered as a sex offender for ten years and given a lifetime ban from working with children. Recorder Gregory Bull QC described it as a 'most terrible breach of trust'.
Douglas Spurgeon
Inciting a girl under 13 to engage in sexual activity *

Douglas Spurgeon, 67, engaged in sexual chat online with a person he believed to be an 11-year-old girl, but who was in fact a member of the vigilante group 'Guardians of the North'. He was persistent in his messages, though he did not intend to meet the girl. He had lost contact with his sons and grandchildren and had recently survived prostate cancer.
