Stevens was drunk at the time and failed to control the dog, which caused multiple, massive, and horrific injuries to Wayne near the foot of a stairway. Stevens had previously been aware of the dog's aggressive behaviour, including attacks on others, and had allowed it to roam freely despite knowing the risks.
Pleaded guilty to being in charge of a dog dangerously out of control causing injury resulting in death. Judge noted that Stevens knew of the dog's dangers, was influenced by alcohol, and showed genuine remorse. He was also given a lifetime ban from keeping a dog.

Mark Bagguley, 49, flew a drone dangerously close to the wing of a Hawker Hurricane aircraft during a flypast at Buxton, Derbyshire's annual carnival on July 2023. The aircraft, the last one built, was flying at 365ft and up to 230mph. A no-fly restriction was in place, but Bagguley flew the drone out of visual line of sight, endangering the plane. He was caught after a photographer spotted the drone in images and reported it to the Civil Aviation Authority. Bagguley checked the Dronesafe app earlier but claimed internet issues prevented a later check; he believed he had time before restrictions started. Upon seeing the plane, he halted the drone. No harm or damage occurred, but the incident risked fatalities.
Pleaded guilty in January. No prior related convictions. Judge described actions as 'mind-blowingly reckless'. Ordered to pay £450 costs and £154 victim surcharge.

Between March 26 and November 21, 2020, Christopher Thomas Binns downloaded over 35,000 indecent images of children, including 104 category A (most serious), 411 category B, and 34,946 category C images, plus three prohibited images and moving images, onto multiple devices including a MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, iPad, and hard drives. The National Crime Agency received information in October 2020 about uploads from his email, leading to a warrant executed at his address in Bole Hill, Calow, Derbyshire, where 39 devices were seized. Some devices were sold by his partner and also contained images. He claimed the downloads occurred under the influence of an overdose of ADHD prescription drugs inducing OCD, and stated he had no sexual interest in children, supported by a polygraph.
Pleaded guilty to five counts of making indecent images of children and one count of possessing a prohibited image. No previous convictions. Subject to a sexual harm prevention order and required to sign the sex offender register, both for 10 years. Judge noted the offending occurred under the influence of medication and Covid circumstances, and deemed him not a risk to the public.

Vasile Culea, a 34-year-old Romanian national, burgled the home of elderly couple Freda and Kenneth Walker in Langwith Junction, Derbyshire, on 14 January 2024, after overhearing in a Polish shop that they had £30,000 hidden there. He hid in the utility room until they returned, then attacked them, hog-tying their hands and feet, beating them, gagging Freda, and putting a bag over her head while searching for money. He stole £300 from a handbag. Freda Walker, 79, suffered fatal brain injuries and died within an hour; her body was found the next day. Kenneth Walker, 88, sustained brain injuries and lacerations but passed away months later from unrelated causes. Culea claimed he slipped and accidentally injured her, but was convicted of murder and wounding with intent after a unanimous jury verdict.
