Stephen Davies, 38, was involved in an altercation with a neighbour near his home in Tonypandy. During the arrest, he became verbally aggressive towards PC Joseph Morgan after being mistakenly called 'David' instead of his real name. He pushed officers, obstructed the arrest, grabbed the officer's arm, and then strangled PC Joseph Morgan by putting his left hand around the officer's neck, causing the officer to lose breath for a few seconds.
