Lee Walker, 35, and Alex Vassallo, 28, were seen acting suspiciously in Milton Avenue, Margate, on the evening of Saturday 18 June 2022, exchanging a bag. Officers found a rucksack containing an 8mm Bruni pistol and cocaine with a street value of up to £20,000.

Alexandru Cercel, aged 39, formerly of Homestead Road, Dagenham, was part of an organised shoplifting gang that stole at least £34,500 worth of champagne and spirits from supermarkets including Tesco, Morrisons, Asda, and Sainsbury’s. The gang targeted stores in Cambridge, Ipswich, Basildon, Beccles, Great Yarmouth, Norwich, Diss, Canvey Island, and Hertford between October 2021 and June 2023, stealing up to £3,000 worth of alcohol per raid and returning to the same store up to five times a day. Nine offences were in Norfolk and seven in Suffolk, accounting for £16,000 of stolen alcohol. He was arrested at Dover docks on 1 July 2023 trying to leave the country.
Admitted to eight counts of stealing alcohol and asked for 26 other thefts to be taken into consideration (TIC). Judge described the operation as ‘industrial’, likely motivated to fund other criminal enterprise, and noted highly organised and planned offending. Credit given for admissions showing genuine remorse and saving police investigation time.

Alexksander Caushi, 31, was arrested while hiding in the rafters of a building on Park Farm Industrial Estate in Folkestone which contained more than 2,000 cannabis plants spread over two floors, along with heating, growing equipment and chemicals. The growing area was hidden behind a false front office. Kent Police executed a warrant on Friday 28 July 2023.

The money was spent on luxuries including cars, caravan, holidays, and other items.

Alminas Satas was part of a trio linked to the thefts of 29 vehicles from Ashford, Hawkinge, Tonbridge, Tenterden and Maidstone in October and November 2022. They used an electronic device to capture signals emitted by car keys and trick vehicles into thinking keys were present. The thieves travelled from east London in vehicles with cloned number plates, targeting BMWs, Mercedes and Range Rovers in Kent, which were then driven to Essex and London to be stripped and sold for parts. Satas was arrested on 8 December 2022 near Sittingbourne along with Seluks.

Serhat Yalcin and Agid Yalcin assaulted a victim in his sixties in Canterbury city centre's High Street on Tuesday 1 September 2020. The victim had been using a cashpoint at around 1am when he was followed by the two offenders, one of whom barged into him. He swung his hand at one of the two men before he was knocked to the ground by Agid. Both men then spent around 15 minutes repeatedly kicking, punching and stamping on the victim as he lay stricken on the ground, leaving him with serious head and arm injuries which required extensive hospital treatment. Police arrived after the incident was seen by a CCTV operator and officers arrested both men at the scene.

Aiden Hubbard-Stewart

Aiden Hubbard-Stewart, subject to a non-molestation order, approached the victim and another woman at Canterbury East railway station on 11 June, slapped the victim in the face and stole her mobile phone, which he later returned via a relative. He then repeatedly contacted the witness to pressure her to withdraw evidence. On 7 July, after the order expired, he followed the victim in the Forty Acres Road area of Canterbury, made threats and punched her to the ground, causing serious injuries requiring long-term medical treatment. He was arrested on 10 July while trying to climb out of a window in Cliftonville.
Admitted unlawful wounding, assault, witness intimidation and breach of a non-molestation order. Indefinite restraining order imposed.
Andrew Maloney

On the evening of Friday 28 April 2023, Andrew Maloney, 55, from Romney Marsh, was out in Lydd when he became aggressive towards a man at premises in the High Street who had intervened in a conversation between Maloney and a third man. Maloney produced a knife, causing a disturbance that other members of the public tried to calm. Despite the knife being moved to a place of safety, Maloney climbed over a counter to retrieve it before leaving the scene. An investigation led to his arrest.
Pleaded guilty to affray and making threats with an offensive weapon. Also given a ten year restraining order.

Wallis was wearing the uniform of the care company and told the victim, who was in her 90s, she had been sent to check she was okay. Lawrence used the victim’s bank card to buy fuel, chocolate and wine on the night of the burglary.

Annette Denicolais, 56, from Ramsgate, was arrested on 8 May 2019 after police followed her silver Volkswagen Polo from Broadstairs to Dundonald Road. While speaking to an officer near her home, she dropped a ball of cocaine and kicked it under her car. She was already under investigation following a search warrant on 11 October 2018 at her home, where MDMA, crack cocaine, and two mobile phones were seized from her car, with phone data revealing involvement in supplying heroin and crack cocaine.
Admitted numerous drug supply offences. Also sentenced for failing to surrender to court bail.

Amii Macey, 31, of no fixed address, was driving a black Volvo spotted by police during a patrol in Herne Bay on Thursday 24 September 2020. She reversed at speed along Victoria Park, collided with a stationary car whose owner was inside, mounted the pavement narrowly missing a cyclist, then attempted to flee but was blocked by a police car. She ran but was caught and searched. Heroin worth up to £640 and crack cocaine were found at the scene, in her car and on her person, along with £700 cash.
Admitted dangerous driving, possession of heroin with intent to supply and possession of crack cocaine. Disqualified from driving for two years and must take an extended retest.

Andrea Brown was found sleeping on a sofa when officers from Kent Police’s County Line and Gang Team searched a property in Surrey Road, Margate on Wednesday 15 July 2020. Officers entered the address at around 6am as part of an investigation concerning drug supply in the town. Brown was arrested after 48 wraps of class A drugs (crack cocaine and heroin) were found under the pillows she had been laying on. A mobile phone was seized and analysed, establishing it was used by a known drug line operating in the Margate area. Her purse containing £170 in cash was also seized.
Pleaded guilty to possession of crack cocaine and heroin with intent to supply along with possession of criminal property, namely cash.

While on bail, on 22 March 2022 in Whitstable, found with £5,000 cash, expensive watch, clothing and two phones, one for ‘Oly’ line. Bringing drugs from south-east London to sell in Kent.
Formerly of Halcot Avenue, Bexleyheath. Ran the ‘Ash’ and ‘B’ county lines into Folkestone and Herne Bay until arrest in August 2021. While on bail, operated the ‘Oly’ line into Whitstable during March 2022.
Benjamin Birch

Benjamin Birch stole approximately £1,500 worth of goods from seven supermarkets across Kent between 29 July and 14 October 2019, committing 20 separate shoplifting offences. Items included meat joints, washing detergent, chocolates, razor blades, and gin. In one incident at a Faversham supermarket, he took at least 14 beef joints despite staff attempting to stop him. He used a walking frame to conceal items.

Benjamin Cullen

Benjamin Cullen abused his position as IT director of a business in Thanet to authorise purchases using the company’s money for a lavish lifestyle, totalling more than £200,000 between 2018 and 2020. This included submitting invoices totalling £117,234 to the company for payment to two businesses linked to him; 15 credit card transactions totalling £291.54 to his mobile number; and 527 transactions on an online shopping app worth £55,940 for items including a swimming pool, jewellery, a gaming chair, computer games, a gazebo and topiary trees. Suspicions arose in 2020 over an invoice for a 50-inch 4K smart television claimed for the boardroom but not found on premises.
Pleaded guilty to four counts of fraud by abuse of position. Aged 43, of Peartree Road, Herne Bay.
Billy Martin
Fraudulent Trading, Money Laundering and Copyright offences *

Billy Martin from London and Darren Bough from Dover illegally sold and retransmitted broadcasts produced by Sky and BT Sports and enabled unauthorised distribution of on-demand films via tailor-made set-top boxes using media player applications and 'add-ons'. Operation run via Facebook with funds received through five PayPal accounts, generating over £540,000 in 18 months (£140,568 to Martin). Warrants executed in Dover and Tonbridge in 2019, devices seized.
Pleaded guilty to Fraudulent Trading, Money Laundering and Copyright offences. Judge referred to defendants as 'a couple of Fagins' and noted they had 'struck at the heart of online commerce'. Mitigation included family reliance, but matter too serious for non-custodial sentence.
Bradley Carman

In 2016, Bradley Carman, then 17, spiked the drinks of two women at a location on Ince Road, Sturry, Canterbury, Kent, CT2, rendering them unconscious. He raped them while a friend filmed the attacks, which were later circulated. The victims reported feeling unwell after one-and-a-half drinks, dipping in and out of consciousness, unable to stop the assaults. Delays in the justice system meant sentencing occurred over five years later.
Convicted by unanimous jury verdict of three counts of rape after denying the charges. Sentenced as a juvenile given his age of 17 at the time of the offences. Will remain on the sex offenders register indefinitely. Judge Mark Weekes noted he spiked drinks to render victims unconscious and was a willing participant in the filmed attacks.
Bradley Cooper

Bradley Cooper, 37, of Langhorne Gardens, Folkestone, punched and bit his victim during an attack in Sandgate Road on Tuesday 12 September 2023, just after 9am. It followed a previous altercation on Sunday 10 September. The victim suffered multiple injuries requiring hospital treatment.

Bradley Dobson posed as a buyer and obtained a white Ford Transit van from a man in Gillingham on 4 July 2023 by claiming to have sent £5,000, then drove it away. He then traded it with a quadbike owner in Queenborough for £500 but drove off with both. On 5 July 2023, he sold the van and quadbike at a breakers yard for £500. On 11 July 2023, he defrauded a couple in Teynham of £160 for fencing supplies that were never provided. Arrested on 27 July 2023 after victims identified a tattoo.

Bradley Simmonds
Causing death by careless driving when over the prescribed limit *

On 16 August 2021, Bradley Simmonds, driving a waste removal lorry, collided with the back of a stationary car with hazard lights flashing on the coastbound A299 between Herne Bay and Birchington near St Nicholas at Wade, forcing it into a ditch. The car's driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was declared deceased at the scene. A test showed Simmonds had 11 times more than the specified limit of benzoylecgonine in his blood, indicating cocaine use prior to the collision.
Pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving when over the prescribed limit. Disqualified from driving for 12 years.
Bradley Thomson
Causing grievous bodily harm with intent *

Bradley Thomson, 25, from Dover, carried out a series of savage assaults in Dover during June 2023. On 10 June, he assaulted a man who had pulled over in his car on London Road, causing multiple fractures to the victim's face and skull injuries, and threatened the passenger. On 14 June in the Tower Hamlets area, he smashed property and threatened residents with a two-pronged fork, stabbed a man who intervened causing cuts and puncture wounds, kicked a woman on the ground, beat a man with a belt, and threatened others. A kitchen knife and drugs were found on him upon arrest later that day.
Pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent, a public order offence, affray, two counts of threatening with an offensive weapon in a public place, two counts of assault by beating, one count of common assault, possession of a bladed article in a public place, possession of cannabis, and admitted a further offence of actual bodily harm.
Cameron Barnes

Cameron Barnes, 27, of Westgate, Chatham, was convicted of four counts of rape and one count of sexual assault on a child. The offences occurred more than five years prior and involved a girl who was repeatedly subjected to sexual abuse against her wishes. Barnes denied the charges but was found guilty following a trial at Canterbury Crown Court. The victim’s courage in reporting the abuse led to a full Kent Police investigation and Barnes’ eventual imprisonment.
Pleaded not guilty but found guilty on all counts. Victim, a girl, bravely came forward after years of abuse. Kent Police investigated.

On Sunday 14 March 2021, shortly before 6pm, officers from Ashford’s Local Policing Team saw McGlaughlin’s uninsured Audi A4 driving along Kingsnorth Road, Ashford. They activated blue lights to stop him, but he drove off at up to 70mph in a 30mph zone, continued speeding in Beaver Lane, Brookfield Road and Chart Road, went around the wrong side of a roundabout, reversed into the police vehicle in Magazine Road, drove through red traffic lights, went through another roundabout on the wrong side, before abandoning the car in Heathfield Road where he was arrested after a foot chase.
Admitted dangerous driving. Disqualified from driving for three years and seven months. From Charing, aged 22.
Barney Buttifint
Possessing a firearm without a firearm certificate *

Kent Police officers attended the home of Barney Buttifint in Dover on Monday 25 July 2022 following concerns he may have weapons beyond those authorised by a firearms licence he held. During a search of the property, officers located a sawn-off shotgun, a .410 pistol and amounts of ammunition beyond that which Buttifint was allowed to hold under the terms of his firearms licence. These were among legally held weapons and air rifles. Buttifint was arrested the same day.

Barry Doughty
Breaking prison and being concerned in the supply of class C drugs *

Barry Doughty, 57, escaped from a prison in Cambridgeshire in 1999. In 2019, Kent Police executed a drugs warrant at a house in Maison Dieu Road, Dover, where he was found in the back garden. The property contained materials used to produce steroids including testosterone, trenbolone, boldenone, drostanolone and mesthasterone, with over 100 vials discovered. Documents showed shipments to UK, USA and Ireland. The operation ran since 2017 generating at least £80,000.
Admitted breaking prison and being concerned in the supply of class C drugs. Escaped from a prison in Cambridgeshire in 1999 while serving sentence for drug dealing offences. Arrested in 2019 using false name 'Gary Monk'.
Aston Cocks
Possession of drugs with intent to supply *

Aston Cocks was found with class A drug MDMA (street value around £700), class C drug pregabalin (more than 30 tablets) and £450 in cash during a warrant at his Ramsgate home on Tuesday 9 July 2019. A lock-up used by Cocks in Ramsgate Harbour was searched and evidence found that it had been used to produce crack cocaine. Analysis of Cocks' phone showed he had been arranging drug deals with local users.

Aubrey Goodison-Mcintosh

Aubrey Goodison-McIntosh, 24, from Paddington, coordinated the supply of heroin and crack cocaine in Whitstable and Herne Bay from a base in London using the 'Bugsy' county line, which came to police attention in August 2020 and used multiple phone numbers. He was identified on CCTV on 21 January 2021 purchasing a top-up voucher for the main line phone at an Erith shop. Arrested on 5 August 2021 at an associate's address in Bromley after attempting to flee; heroin, crack cocaine, a mobile phone and SIM card used for the line were seized.

Austin Francis

On 26 June 2018, Francis waited for the victim, a woman in her 50s, at her home in Ramsgate. Despite her attempts to calm him, he threatened to smash her belongings and harm her. He followed her to another room and head-butted her in the face, causing facial injuries that required ongoing medical treatment. She fled to a friend's house and called police. Francis was arrested and later pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm.
Pleaded guilty. Also ordered to pay £130 victim surcharge and made subject to a five-year restraining order.

On August 28, 2022, carpenter Ben Crawford, aged 32, of St Lukes Walk, Hawkinge, Folkestone, was refused re-entry to The Park Inn hotel in Folkestone due to his abusive and drunken state after consuming 10 pints and four Jagerbomb cocktails. He lashed out at doorman Blerim Gashi in a racist attack, ripping off his coat and body-worn camera before punching him in the face, fracturing his cheekbone in three places. Crawford called him a 'foreign ****' and told him to 'f*** off'. Mr Gashi was left dizzy with blurred vision and unable to work for four weeks. Crawford later admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm.
Pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm. Expressed genuine remorse. Strong personal mitigation and realistic prospect of rehabilitation allowed suspension by narrowest margin. Judge noted gratuitous and unfounded attack and racist abuse.

Search found a large knife, cash, phones and small amounts of cocaine and heroin. Analysis of phones showed messages offering heroin and crack cocaine for sale, signed 'Ben'.

Arber Rama was driving along Canterbury Road in Densole, near Folkestone, at around 6.45pm on Thursday 15 November 2018 when his Mercedes car collided with a motorbike travelling in the opposite direction after overtaking in foggy conditions. His vehicle was on the wrong side of the road, straddling the centre line, causing fatal injuries to the 25-year-old motorcyclist who died at the scene and knocking over a pedestrian who suffered a hairline fracture to her leg.

Christian Tuck-Brown, of High Street in Canterbury, was found to have 41 films and 15 indecent images of children on a memory stick in a tablet during an unannounced police visit on March 13 2021, when a child was believed to be at the address. He was arrested on March 26 2021. He was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order requiring regular police visits and declaration of children at his address.
Admitted three offences of making indecent images, 10 breaches of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and failing to notify police that a child had been staying at his address. Previously convicted of possessing indecent photos of children and voyeurism.

Christopher Ball, 50, from Ashford, was arrested at his home in Kilndown Close in January 2020 after police received information he had posted an indecent image on Facebook. Investigation uncovered over 1,200 category A indecent images on his computers. Evidence showed he set up and managed online chat rooms sharing over 400 indecent images and clips, and repeatedly tried to contact children online between November 2019 and January 2020 to incite sexual acts.
Admitted 44 child sexual offences at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on 26 May 2021. Made subject of an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order.

Christopher Banks approached a woman in her 60s in Lydd High Street on the afternoon of Sunday 14 February after she had collected money from a cashpoint for a friend. He asked for spare change, became aggressive, produced a craft knife, jabbed it towards her, grabbed her bag and made off with her money.
Admitted robbery, possession of a bladed article and possession of cannabis. 25-year-old, of Salisbury Road, Chatham.
Christopher Bullows
Attempting to import class A drugs *

Christopher Bullows, 50, from St Helens, drove an empty passenger coach attempting to smuggle 243 kilos of cocaine into the UK. The coach was stopped at Dover Docks in September 2020. The cocaine was hidden in a specially constructed wastewater tank, worth around £19.4 million on UK streets. Bullows claimed he took the coach to Belgium for air conditioning repairs under warranty and Tucker joined for the trip, but repairs had been done in the UK months earlier.
Initially denied the charge but changed plea to guilty on 22 April.

Causing serious injury by dangerous driving *

On 1 June 2018, Christopher Godden was driving a grey Volkswagen Golf in Fordwich with two friends. He was speeding excessively with music blaring, causing passengers to fear for their safety. Despite being asked to slow down, he lost control near the junction of Moat Lane and High Street, crashing head-on into another vehicle. Godden fled the scene, leaving a 26-year-old female friend seriously injured with life-changing injuries and a 30-year-old male passenger also seriously hurt. He handed himself in at Folkestone police station the next day, admitting he was the driver. Police tests showed he was three times over the legal drug limit for BZE, a cocaine metabolite. He claimed he ran away due to shock.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Fled the scene after crash and was found to be three times over the drug limit for cocaine metabolite.

Christopher Key, 39, formerly of Westbourne Gardens in Folkestone, visited a woman he knew in April 2020 and subjected her to several days of abuse including a vicious sexual assault. On one occasion he threw her to the ground and physically beat her with his fist leaving her with bruises. The victim secretly recorded audio of the sexual assault on her mobile phone, which was played in court.
Pleaded guilty to sexual assault and actual bodily harm. Sentence part of overall 16-year term including rape of a boy; further eight years on licence.

Christopher Marlborough-Jones, 33, of no fixed address, threw a safe at a woman known to him in the Spring Lane area of Canterbury in May 2021 before threatening her and telling her not to give a statement, saying he would kill her if she supported a prosecution. He contacted the victim in September and October 2021 in breach of a restraining order, failed to notify police of his address in September 2021 as required under the Sex Offenders Register, bought a mobile phone and set up a Facebook account in breach of his SHPO, and sent abusive messages to another woman known to him.
Admitted charges of assault, perverting the course of justice, breaching sex offenders’ notification requirements, breaching a SHPO, breaching a restraining order and malicious communications. Prior conviction for exposure in 2019 and subject to Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO).
Christopher Pain

Christopher Pain, 57, of Brook Lane, Sellindge, started a fire in the living room of his property at Brook Lane Cottages on 3 May 2021 after refusing to engage with police who were called at 12.40am due to concerns he had a knife and was threatening to injure himself. He shouted abuse and barricaded doors. Officers Sergeant James Cattermole and PC Louis Southon entered the burning building, smashed windows, and rescued him despite resistance. Extensive fire damage was caused but no serious injuries.
Admitted arson at a previous hearing.
Callum Gabbitas
Causing grievous bodily harm with intent *

In the early hours of Sunday 23 May 2021, Callum Gabbitas became involved in the assault of two men in their 20s near the High Street in Canterbury city centre. As the victims walked with their friends in Mercery Lane, they passed Gabbitas who was with three other people. After a brief greeting, Gabbitas became confrontational and, together with one of his group, attacked two of the other group. Gabbitas hit his victim in the face with a beer bottle, causing it to break, then took his belt buckle and beat the victim. The attack continued down the High Street until door staff intervened. The victim suffered facial injuries requiring hospital treatment. Gabbitas was arrested after CCTV traced him; he was found wearing clothes stained with the victim’s blood.
Admitted affray and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.
