The victim was lured via social media, driven to South Wales, had her phone smashed, was held captive for five days, beaten, and forced to store drugs in her body. The gang operated a county line from London to Swansea.

You will always be mine'. He was arrested in October 2025 and January 2026, breaching bail conditions. Victim reported feeling frightened, powerless, constantly watched, and struggling to sleep.

Maximin Carter stored an arsenal of weapons at his former partner’s home on Commercial Street, Abergwynfi, Neath Port Talbot. His former partner contacted police on Valentine’s Day after discovering items she suspected could be explosive devices and believing the property had been booby-trapped. Carter had been living there without consent in breach of a non-molestation order. A major incident was declared, military specialists deployed, and neighbours evacuated. No explosives were found, but officers recovered an air rifle, four telescopic truncheons, a ninja sword, a knuckleduster and a substantial amount of ammunition. Carter confirmed the items belonged to him and has an interest in arms and weaponry.
Pleaded guilty. Will serve 40% in custody with remainder on licence. Previous conviction in 1998 for cannabis possession and 2009 caution for offensive weapon.

A DVLA worker secretly altered official vehicle records to make damaged, stolen and cloned cars appear legitimate, between January 2021 and July 2022. He used his access to DVLA systems to help Swansea car dealers hide true vehicle histories. Among the vehicles affected were high-value models including an Audi, a Ferrari, a BMW, a Mercedes-AMG and a Range Rover Sport worth around £65,000 which had been stolen and given false paperwork. The fraudulent alterations increased the value of affected vehicles by about £1.29m. Holloway gained £23,400 for making the changes.

On March 25, 2026, police executed a warrant at a flat on Pentre Doc y Gogledd, Llanelli, and discovered an extensive cannabis growing operation across three rooms containing 89 plants at varying stages of growth, along with cultivation equipment. The electricity meter had been bypassed. The crop was valued at up to £82,000. Allmunca was identified by residents as regularly entering the property and was arrested with a key to the flat. He later admitted travelling from Swansea, stated he had paid £20,000 to be smuggled into the UK from Albania 12 months earlier, and had been put to work as a gardener to reduce the debt at a rate of £3,000 per month. He had no previous convictions in the UK.
Pleaded guilty to being concerned in the production of cannabis. Worked as a gardener to repay a £20,000 debt to a criminal gang. Will serve 40% of the term before release and is liable to deportation.

In the early hours of February 1, 2025, Mark Jones entered Swansea's Quadrant bus station, stared at passengers waiting for a coach to London, lay on the floor, pulled down his trousers, and pleasured himself for around 10 minutes. The incident was observed by passengers and a security guard monitoring CCTV. He refused to leave when told by the guard and continued. He fled when police arrived but was arrested shortly afterwards in St Mary's Square. At the police station, he expressed disgust at his actions but said he would continue if released.
Pleaded guilty to outraging public decency. Has 32 previous offences including multiple indecent assaults of children, exposure, and outraging public decency. Subject to a sexual harm prevention order imposed in Mold, which he has breached six times. Judge Huw Rees described the behaviour as 'filthy' in a public place and warned that future custodial sentences will get longer. Received one-third discount for guilty plea. In custody since arrest on February 1, 2025, and likely to be released on licence soon due to time on remand.

Between June 2007 and July 2010, Mark Lewis submitted 13 false gift aid claims to HMRC, claiming to have received £3 million in donations to the Welsh Independent School of Climbing and Mountaineering Trust (later renamed MSL Mountaineering Trust), of which he was chief executive. The charity had not actually received the donations stated on the claims. The couple used the fraudulently obtained funds to buy and renovate a house in Stoke, pay a deposit on another house, and invest in failed outdoor-activity and construction businesses. The fraud was uncovered following a joint investigation by the Charity Commission and HMRC.

Rhian DeSouza, a 43-year-old head teacher at Ysgol Gymraeg Gellionnen in Clydach, near Swansea, made indecent photographs of a 16-year-old girl. DeSouza had known the girl since the age of 13 and entered into a consensual sexual relationship with her after she turned 16. The girl sent two intimate photographs of herself to DeSouza, who erased them from her phone. Although the relationship was lawful under the age of consent, possessing the images was illegal. The girl's mother discovered the relationship in June, reported it to police, and DeSouza was suspended from her job. At Swansea Crown Court she was given a two-year community order comprising 25 days of rehabilitation training and 200 hours of unpaid work, together with a five-year notification requirement on the sex offenders register and a sexual harm prevention order.
Admitted two charges of making indecent images. Judge Paul Thomas described the situation as an 'anomaly of the law'. Also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for 5 years and given a sexual harm prevention order.
Rhian Eleri Desouza

Rhian Eleri Desouza, a 43-year-old headteacher at Ysgol Gynradd Gymraeg Gellionnen, received two indecent images of a child via Snapchat from a 16-year-old girl in May and June 2018. One image was category A, the most serious, and one was category C. She was arrested on 14 August 2018 and initially gave no comment, but later pleaded guilty. The images were not connected to any pupils. She received a two-year community order with 25 days rehabilitation activity and 200 hours unpaid work, and was placed on the sex offenders register for five years.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of making indecent images of a child. Judge Paul Thomas QC described the circumstances as 'very unusual' and 'unique', noting the images were consensually sent by a 16-year-old girl and there was no distribution. Desouza lost her job as a headteacher and expressed remorse.

Rebecca Stubbs became involved in a street argument with Jonathan Yeandle outside St Joseph's Catholic Primary School in Swansea on 6 December 2025. The dispute stemmed from Yeandle not retrieving stolen belongings as promised. During the incident, co-defendant Joseph Cullen stabbed Yeandle. Stubbs pleaded guilty to assault by beating. Her stepfather attended court to support her, and she now has access to a stable home environment.

Phillip Andrew Williams

On 2 August 2022, Williams abducted a teenage girl in Llandovery, stole her phone, held a screwdriver to her neck, forced her to consume alcohol and cocaine, tied her hands with blue rope and raped her in a field. He then dragged her into a stolen vehicle and drove under the influence to Margam Country Park, where he attempted to drag her towards a mountain. The victim managed to retrieve her phone and flee, alerting police. Officers found her distressed and covered in mud. Williams was arrested within hours and charged with inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, three counts of rape, kidnapping, and sexual assault of a female under 16. Evidence recovered included the victim's trainers, underwear, the screwdriver and the rope. He was sentenced on 22 February 2023.
Pleaded not guilty; convicted after a five-day trial at Swansea Crown Court. The jury returned unanimous guilty verdicts on all charges after 40 minutes of deliberation. The investigating officer commended the victim's bravery.
Paul Davis
Sexually assaulting a child under 13 *

Paul Davis groomed a primary school-aged girl with gifts of sweets and subjected her to sexual assaults by touching her under and over her underwear. He also masturbated in front of a child while smiling at her at Swansea's LC leisure centre. Police investigation revealed over 1,250 indecent images of children including 208 Category A films and photographs of extreme sexual abuse of girls as young as four, 56 prohibited images, and 173 extreme pornographic images including bestiality.
Pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a child under 13, engaging in sexual activity in the presence of a child, possession of indecent images of Categories A, B and C, possession of prohibited images, and possession of extreme pornographic images. Patrick Smyth

Patrick Smyth, 50, from Essex, subjected a woman in Pembrokeshire to sustained physical and psychological abuse over nearly a year after meeting her on holiday in Tunisia. He controlled her daily life by checking her phone, isolating her from friends and family, installing a tracking app, and making bizarre claims including pretending to be Banksy. Incidents occurred at the Coal Exchange Hotel and a Morrisons supermarket. While on bail he forced entry to her Haverfordwest home, tied her to a chair, turned off the lights and became physically violent. He appeared at Swansea Crown Court where Her Honour Judge Catherine Richards sentenced him.
Pleaded guilty to three offences including coercive and controlling behaviour. Ten-year restraining order also imposed. Judge rejected defence claims of low reoffending risk and rehabilitation prospects.
Paul Adam Wood
Breach of a sexual offences prevention order and possession of indecent images of children *

Paul Adam Wood, aged 50, from Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, a convicted sex offender with a prior 2003 conviction for indecent assault, was subject to a sexual offences prevention order since 2009 that prohibited him from using any internet-capable computer or possessing a camera. Despite this, he enrolled in a college course and was provided a laptop. Police raided his home and another property, discovering computers, memory sticks, mobile phones, and cameras containing a catalogue of indecent images, including a film of a child being raped and extreme pornography depicting sex with animals. Wood admitted to twice breaching the order and 30 further offences. He later walked into a police station, stating he was homeless and revealing the location of additional downloaded pornography. He was sentenced to 14 months' imprisonment at Swansea Crown Court.
Pleaded guilty to breaching a sexual offences prevention order in 32 ways and to 30 offences of making/possessing indecent images of children and possessing extreme pornography. Judge Peter Heywood noted: 'He needs help. His family has turned against him.' Also issued a ban on working with children or vulnerable adults.
Oliver James Smith

Oliver James Smith, of Glandrydan Avenue, Uplands, Swansea, rode around Swansea's Singleton and Brynmill parks, nearby streets, seafront prom, and Bishopston on his bicycle wearing dark clothing with a hood, randomly and forcefully grabbing the buttocks of 18 women and girls aged 12 to 45, including lone joggers, university students, and mothers with children. Most attacks occurred on February 12 and 13, 2021, during lockdown while victims were taking permitted exercise. He targeted females wearing Lycra or short jackets, claiming anger at their attire and that it enticed men. Caught via CCTV and public tips, living in a converted garden shed. Admitted offences and others to police.
Pleaded guilty to 11 counts of sexual assault by touching (including one on a girl under 13) and one count of attempted sexual assault. Asked for another seven sexual assaults to be taken into consideration. Judge described it as a 'campaign of sexual offending' causing widespread terror. Deemed a dangerous offender. Naleen Thota, 56, a senior doctor at Morriston Hospital in Swansea, sexually assaulted two female members of staff on separate occasions by cornering them when alone, hugging one repeatedly and squeezing her right hip tightly while saying 'ooh' or similar.
Found guilty by jury of two counts of sexual assault. No previous convictions. Also subject to 10-year restraining orders and 10 years on sex offender register.

Breaches continued with verbal abuse and obscene gestures into the victim's video doorbell. Arrested on 16 April after threats to kill. Barrow had been given a clear warning to stop his illegal activity but chose to continue.

68-year-old Nigel Page, of Ger-y-Capel, Llangain, Carmarthen, encountered an intoxicated teenage girl in Carmarthen town centre in August 2025. He pretended to assist her by taking her to his home to charge her phone, then changed into stockings and a thong, pushed her to the floor, kissed her, rubbed his crotch against her stomach, and sexually assaulted her. The victim believed he was going to rape her, fled the house, and flagged down a car. Page later left his house to search for her in Carmarthen.
Convicted at trial of one count of sexual assault. Mental health disorder contributed to irrational and bizarre behaviour. Judge noted victim was highly intoxicated and in no position to make sensible choices, defendant had no real insight into behaviour and was resistant to medication. Registered sex offender for 10 years.
Nicholas Page
Attempting to possess indecent images of children and arranging a child sexual offence *

Nicholas Page, 75, of Ropewalk Road, Llanelli, was caught when a care worker from Carmarthenshire Council reported him after he showed an image of a female on his phone and disclosed discussions about sexual encounters with girls 'as young as 14'. A search of his mobile phone revealed text conversations where Page actively tried to obtain indecent images of children as young as eight, and arranged sexual encounters with young girls by offering payment. In one exchange, a plan was made for a girl to be brought to his home at 2pm the next day. When no one arrived, Page sent angry messages demanding to know where the girl was. He expressed a preference for 13-year-old virgins, also stating interest in girls '10 or younger'. Page failed to attend multiple sentencing hearings, was arrested on a warrant, and remanded in custody. The defence cited his difficult childhood in care. The judge accepted he may have been conned by the other party.
Pleaded guilty to attempting to possess indecent images of children and arranging a child sexual offence. No previous convictions. Judge Paul Thomas KC noted no realistic prospect of rehabilitation.
Simon Matthew Dove

In September 2009, indecent images found on computers seized from an address in Port Talbot. In January 2010, further indecent images discovered on devices seized from a London address, along with evidence of communicating with other paedophiles via Yahoo Messenger and sharing images via peer-to-peer software. Charged with 34 counts of making and distributing indecent images of children and one count of possessing extreme pornography. Dove fled the country but was extradited back to the UK from Spain in 2020.

On April 19, 2024, officers intercepted a Volkswagen T-Cross driven by Stirton on the westbound M4 at Margam, with passenger Angelica Davey. Found 58 wraps of heroin and 147 wraps of cocaine worth £2,400, plus a burner phone and defendants' phones showing multiple trips between London and Swansea in March and April, bulk texts advertising drugs sent from Sarn Park services, and hotel bookings in Swansea.
Pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of heroin with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of heroin, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and driving without insurance. He was seen on video doorbell attempting to enter a nearby house in Penmaen Terrace earlier that night around 1am. Caught shortly after drinking from the milk bottle with stolen items in his bag.

Shane Kelly, 36, of High Street, Skewen, was connected to a mobile phone seized during a drugs raid in Briton Ferry in July 2024. The phone had been used by multiple dealers and contained a list of drug users. Kelly was arrested in July 2025. Messages showed he supplied cocaine directly to users and passed quantities to another dealer. A search of his home found weighing scales with traces of white powder and snap-seal bags. He also admitted simple possession of cannabis.

Shane Wakefield

Shane Wakefield, of Cwm Arian, Morriston, Swansea, used fake internet profiles on social media platforms including Kik, Snapchat and MeowChat to befriend underage girls aged 13-16 across the UK and abroad. He bribed them with gift vouchers like iTunes vouchers for initial sexual photos including their faces, then blackmailed them by threatening to publish the images online unless they sent graphic images and videos, including of their genitalia and performing sexual acts on themselves. One victim in Scotland reported him to Snapchat, leading to his arrest in September 2015. He targeted eight victims.
Found guilty after trial of four counts of attempting to incite a child to engage in sexual activity, eight counts of inciting a child to engage in sexual activity, one count of possessing extreme pornography, three counts of possessing indecent images of a child and one count of possessing a prohibited image of a child. Ryan Tucker ran his own separate drug supply operation from the family home on Gwyn Terrace, Port Talbot, supplying cocaine, amphetamine, and cannabis. The investigation began on 29 August 2024 after witnessing a suspected drugs exchange involving his brother. On 7 September 2024, police arrested him, seizing his phone and £3,125 cash; phone analysis revealed messages about drug deals over the previous 12 months, including selling for Scousers and owing money to Merseysiders. On Boxing Day 2025, he crashed a VW Golf in Port Talbot, found covered in cocaine with nearly 40g cocaine and 100g cannabis in the car; he was hospitalised in a coma.
Pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, amphetamine, and cannabis. 23 previous convictions for 56 offences. Defence cited unstable upbringing, loss of brother, addiction, and mental health issues. Judge Geraint Walters noted involvement in distributing drugs for a Liverpool gang and advised turning life around. Discounts applied for guilty pleas. In April 2024 following a road traffic collision in Blaenavon, emergency services found Whitehead sat in a crashed car sniffing nitrous oxide canisters. The defendant was arrested and searched; in his bum bag police found 56 individual wraps of crack cocaine and 30 wraps of heroin with a combined street value of almost £4,000 while in his pockets was some £273 in cash. Police also recovered a Nokia burner phone containing messages relating to the supply of class A drugs including 'text bombs' saying 'Get your orders in' and one sent on the morning of his arrest saying 'Active from 8.30. Drops. Both'.
That conviction followed a road traffic collision in Blaenavon the previous month.

On October 27, 2024, police stopped Saif Ali's white Ford Fiesta exiting Gore Terrace in Swansea at speed due to strong smell of cannabis. Search found 79g cannabis in 16 bags, £765 cash, 7.3g cocaine, and blister packs of tablets in the car; Ali had four 0.5g bags of cocaine on him. Home search uncovered scales with white residue, £300 cash, and small bags of white powder. Phone showed messages relating to drug supply.
Pleaded guilty. One-third discount applied. 28 months for cocaine offence and 6 months for cannabis offence to run concurrently. Two prior convictions for theft and aggravated vehicle-taking as a youth. Barrister cited low wages as railway cleaner leading to drug dealing to pay bills and help parents. Ryan Ashley Davies, a 24-year-old former Tesco worker from Princess Court, Llanelli, was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court for possessing more than 1,710 indecent images and films of child sexual abuse, including 594 Category A depictions of children as young as four being raped, with another 5,000 uncategorised images. Devices seized included one configured for dark web access, and evidence showed he actively searched for sexual material featuring underage children and shared 77 indecent images on the Kik messenger service with fellow paedophiles. Davies told police he was a 'pornography addict'. Dyfed-Powys Police conducted the investigation.

When she entered a new relationship in June 2024, he targeted her new partner by appearing at his workplace and home to provoke confrontation, making a threatening remark: 'How would your father feel if you had a cracked skull?' and derogatory comments. In a separate incident, he sexually assaulted another woman at a property in the Swansea Valley by touching her breasts and placing his hands down her trouser bottoms.
Pleaded guilty to harassment, stalking, and sexual assault on the day his case was due to go to trial. Has five previous convictions for eight offences including common assault, criminal damage, and motoring matters. Judge Geraint Walters hoped he had learned his lesson and told him to move on and leave his former partner and her new boyfriend alone. Subject to restraining orders prohibiting contact with victims for five years. Already served seven and a half months on remand.

Police executed a search warrant at his home on March 31 2026, recovering weighing scales, snap-seal bags and a bag of white powder. A field test indicated cocaine, leading to an initial guilty plea to possessing cocaine with intent to supply, but forensic analysis later confirmed the substance was bicarbonate of soda and that plea was set aside. Analysis of Pike's phone showed text messages offering cocaine and heroin for sale. He was sentenced for his involvement in supplying cocaine and heroin.

Timothy James Ayres

Timothy James Ayres, of Oystermouth Road, Swansea, was sentenced after officers arrested him on April 28 on suspicion of engaging in sexual communications with a child. During a search, two unregistered Monzo bank cards were found in his wallet, and a tablet device he had been using was discovered at his mother's address in Gorseinon. He had previously been convicted in 2020 of causing a child under 13 to watch sexual activity and in 2023 of offences including selling counterfeit banknotes, supplying drugs and offering hacked PayPal accounts.
Pleaded guilty to breaching a sexual harm prevention order and failing to comply with sex offenders register obligations. Judge Huw Rees described him as "a sexual danger to children" and noted the sentence included a one-third reduction for guilty pleas. He will serve up to half the term in custody.
Thomas Chislett

Thomas Chislett, 33, of Heol Nant Gelli, Treboeth, was the passenger in Phillips' car when it was stopped. He had been promoting cannabis edibles on his phone under the tagline 'Chissy's sweet shop now open' and had messages connected to cannabis supply. He denied involvement in cocaine supply, claiming the messages were a joke, but pleaded guilty to supply offences. Chislett was a heavy cocaine user motivated to change for his daughter. The recorder noted that without the recent change in law raising the suspended sentence threshold from two to three years, he would have received immediate custody.
Pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, being concerned in the supply of THC, and possession of cocaine with intent to supply. Received a one-quarter discount due to late pleas. On 30 August 2020, Dyfed-Powys Police executed a warrant at Susan Marie Proffitt's home on South Road in Ceredigion and found a box containing 408 grams of heroin hidden in a vent under the staircase, with two more wraps concealed inside a shower head bracket. Proffitt's fingerprints were on the drugs. She was a trusted part of an organised crime gang supplying heroin into the division.
