Alan Brook, formerly of an address in East Malling, inflicted deep head wounds on the victim using garden shears following a dispute over a mobile phone. On September 14, 2024, Brook went to the victim’s home in East Malling as she was caring for his dog. After attempting to snatch the woman’s phone, he launched a catapult projectile at her head, which missed. As the victim fled the property, Brook seized a pair of garden shears and struck her head multiple times. The injured woman reached a neighbour’s house for safety, but Brook pursued her, forcibly taking the phone from the neighbour before fleeing the scene. Brook changed his clothes nearby before seeking refuge at a relative’s home in Snodland, where police tracked and arrested him hiding in a toilet. The victim was taken to hospital for treatment of her multiple injuries.
Pleaded guilty to wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. A charge of robbery was ordered to lie on file. Issued with a ten-year restraining order prohibiting contact with the victim. History of violent offending and shown no remorse.
Addison Curtis

Addison Curtis was involved in money laundering as part of a criminal gang responsible for importing and distributing at least 1.4 tonnes of cocaine from Central America concealed in bananas between March and December 2021. Drugs were smuggled into Kent via shipping containers at the Port of Sheerness, including over a tonne from Costa Rica, extracted and distributed from a yard in Longfield.

On 16 June 2022, the 17-year-old victim was walking in Railway Street, Gillingham, where he was approached by Ahmed Mobarat, who had previously sent offensive messages to the victim online and continued this abuse in person. After a brief altercation, the victim walked away but was followed by Mobarat who stabbed him in the abdomen. Kent Police was called to the town’s train station where the victim had sought assistance. He was taken to a London hospital. Officers arrested Mobarat at an address in Byron Road and seized a knife with traces of blood on the blade.
Pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding and possessing a bladed weapon in a public place.
Aaron Clarke

Aaron Clarke, responsible for the 'Koby' county line, sold heroin and crack cocaine in Medway. He was arrested in Bedfordshire on 24 May 2022 after a previous arrest in August 2021 where a phone containing drug-related messages was seized. Arrested on 29 September 2021 following decryption of EncroChat messages by law enforcement and investigation by Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.

Aaron Leacock
Conspiring to commit fraud by false representation *

Aaron Leacock, Warren Roache and Sean Lee conspired to commit fraud by false representation, targeting 47 elderly victims (aged 70 or over) across Kent, Essex, Hertfordshire, Hampshire, south London and Northamptonshire. Victims were phoned from burner phones by someone pretending to be from their bank, asked security questions, and told a courier would collect their card due to an issue. Cards were collected and used by Roache and Lee to withdraw cash or buy goods near victims' homes. Leacock made the calls from an office in Purley High Street, South Croydon. Total stolen: £60,000.
Involved in all 47 offences in the conspiracy. Sentence to be served concurrently to a five-year sentence for similar unrelated cases. Pleaded guilty.
Aaron Martin

Aaron Martin was part of a criminal gang that broke into seven addresses in Dartford and Gravesend between 1 April and 17 May 2023. The burglars travelled from Essex to commit the offences.

Abey Smith

Abey Smith, trading as Roof Seal and Home Improvements, tricked a retired resident of Teynham into spending over £100,000 on unnecessary and substandard home repairs starting in April 2016. He began by cleaning guttering for £45, then repeatedly lied about further work needed, such as painting roof tiles to simulate replacement, without providing estimates, invoices or paperwork. He falsely claimed the costs could be reclaimed via insurance. The victim stopped payments in February 2017 after bank concerns led to police involvement. An expert assessed the work as unnecessary and worth no more than £3,300 total. Smith was arrested on 10 May 2017.

Adam Eltabib, of Eden Avenue, Chatham, Kent, met a 12-year-old girl at an anime, cosplay and comics convention in London in 2018. He groomed her via WhatsApp messages between February and November 2018, including references to sex and expressing desire to have sex with her when she was 16. Police found 3,000 indecent images on his computer during an unrelated investigation. He used the name of an anime character known to stalk women.
Admitted having sexual conversations with a child and two charges of making prohibited images. Judge Philip Statman rejected his claim of downloading images to expose paedophiles as fanciful. Sentencing hearing interrupted by suspected gas leak.

Adrian Edwards broke into the Central Theatre in the High Street, Chatham, at around 6am on Monday 19 April 2021. He made himself a hot drink, stole a laptop, drill and trainers, then fell asleep. He was disturbed by an employee, left with the stolen items, and was arrested later the same day after CCTV and DNA evidence linked him to the scene. Officers also seized a psychoactive substance from his possession.

During the evening of 12 November 2022, at a charity fancy dress event at a town centre public house in Maidstone, Deeprose punched a man outside in Station Road after an interaction inside. He then drove a silver Vauxhall Corsa directly at the victim's friends in the road, colliding with a man in his 20s, before returning with headlights off, running over the first victim's head and colliding with a second man in his 20s. Deeprose, of no fixed address, fled the scene and was arrested later at Dargate service station near Faversham.
Pleaded not guilty to two counts of attempted murder but was convicted following a trial. Pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, disqualified driving and assault by beating. Will have to serve two thirds of the sentence before eligible for parole.

On Friday 30 September 2022, Anthony Finnis, 36, from Wymondham, Norfolk, travelled to a coffee shop in Dartford, Kent, to meet a 12-year-old boy he had arranged to abuse online. He brought a Thor fancy dress costume as the boy's supposed favourite Marvel superhero and described his sexual desires in detail. Police arrested him upon arrival. He pleaded guilty on 3 October 2022.

Pemberthy was involved in six burglaries targeting cash machines at businesses in Kent between November 2019 and March 2021, using diggers to rip machines from walls. Incidents included Co-op in Cranbrook (14 Nov 2019, £30,000 stolen), Esso in Staplehurst (25 Jan 2020, £20,000 stolen), Tesco Extra in Whitfield (23 Mar 2020, over £200,000 stolen), failed attempts at Morrisons in Northfleet (31 Jan 2021) and Tesco Express in Dymchurch (28 Feb 2021), and Shell Lychgate near Dargate (1 Mar 2021, £50,000 stolen). Total damage, theft and loss over £1.8 million.

On 27 November 2020, Zemaitis, a lorry driver from Lithuania, approached Stanionis's vehicle at Clacket Lane service station carrying a backpack containing three kilograms of cocaine, which he left in the vehicle. He had arrived in Dover via Dunkerque earlier that day. Phone checks showed regular contact with Stanionis about drug transportation. Arrested on 29 November 2020 attempting to board a ferry in Dover.

Andrew Spencer

Andrew Spencer, 30, of no fixed address, targeted four shops in Chatham between Thursday 7 and Saturday 9 October 2021. On 7 October at 5.30pm, he used a screwdriver to threaten an employee in a convenience store in Salisbury Road and stole cash. On 8 October, he used a knife to threaten a woman in a shop in Luton Road, demanding the till be opened and stealing hundreds of pounds. On 9 October at around 12pm, he used a knife to threaten a woman in a shop in Ordnance Road and stole a large quantity of cash. Later that day at around 4pm, he attempted to grab cash from a till in another shop using a knife but was scared away empty-handed. He was arrested shortly after on New Road.
Admitted three robberies, four counts of having a bladed weapon in a public place and attempted robbery.
Angel Fuller
Aiding and abetting the rape of a child *

Angel Fuller from Chatham willingly assisted Tristan Goodwin's plan to sexually abuse children over a two-year period. Between May 2021 and January 2022, she arranged for a child to meet Goodwin on at least three occasions where he committed sex offences. Later that year, she took another child to meet him and he raped them. Goodwin paid her to introduce him to child victims. Charged with aiding and abetting the rape of a child and two counts of arranging the commission of a child sex offence.
Pleaded guilty. Aged 19. Made subject of a sexual harm prevention order and added to the Sex Offenders’ Register for life.
Andrzej Kitrys
Attempted murder *

Andrzej Kitrys sub-let a room at a property in Kirby Road, Stone for three months. It was also occupied by the main tenants who were another man and the victim. The tenants had asked Kitrys to leave and, in the early hours of 8 October 2022, the woman was asleep alone in her room when she awoke to find Kitrys sitting on her bed. Kitrys said he had killed the other tenant and was going to murder her. He then stabbed her multiple times with a large kitchen knife as the victim fought to protect herself. She managed to disarm Kitrys then fled the premises seeking help, with wounds to her neck, throat and hands. A neighbour called the emergency services and while the woman was treated by paramedics, armed officers went to the house and forced their way into the building. Once inside, the constables found the other resident, who was in fact uninjured, and arrested Kitrys.
Pleaded not guilty to the indictment and was convicted on 12 September 2023, following a trial at Maidstone Crown Court. Will have to serve at least two thirds of his sentence before he can apply for parole. Upon his release, he will be subject to an extended licence period of four years. Restraining order lasting 30 years.
Alfie Stiffle-Pace

On 24 March 2022 at 9pm, Alfie Stiffle-Pace, along with three others, forced his way into a house in High Street, Sheerness, demanding drugs despite wrong address. The victim was punched, assaulted with weapons including a meat cleaver, kitchen knife and handmade bladed knife, stabbed in the arm, and received cuts to fingers and hand. They ransacked the downstairs and stole a mobile phone and e-scooter. DNA on a hat at the scene, CCTV, and mobile phone evidence linked him. Arrested on 5 April 2022; stolen phone found at his home.
Admitted charges of robbery, grievous bodily harm with intent and possessing a knife in a public place.
Alison Mackinnon

Alison Mackinnon, aged 53, of Uplands Road, Romford, Essex, marketed cocaine and amphetamine through mobile phone messages directed by Billy Maidment. On 25 February 2020, she was arrested by plain clothes officers in Tonbridge Road, Hildenborough, after an exchange with Maidment. She was found in possession of a plastic bag containing twenty wraps of cocaine, with quantities of amphetamine located in her vehicle. Her phone contained messages from Maidment directing her to locations to deliver drugs.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of drugs.
Allen Mulcahy

At around 8.20pm on 2 June 2020, Allen Mulcahy and Jack O’Reilly approached a man in his 50s sitting in Brenchley Gardens, Maidstone. After chatting for twenty minutes, they walked together towards the River Medway through the town centre. On reaching the grounds of All Saints Church near Mill Street, O’Reilly grabbed the victim by the throat and threw him to the ground, fracturing his femur. Mulcahy then threatened to cut the victim’s throat unless he handed over his watch, which the victim did out of fear for his life. Mulcahy and O’Reilly then left the scene. Mulcahy, of Maidstone Road, Chatham, was arrested on 22 June.
Pleaded guilty to robbery, possessing ammunition for a firearm when prohibited for life and possession of cannabis. Shotgun cartridges and cannabis found at his home.
Aloisios Varthalitis
Possessing cocaine with intent to supply *

On 17 April 2022, constables from Tonbridge community policing team stopped a Fiat Punto driven by Aloisios Varthalitis in Trench Road. Suspecting drug supply involvement, they searched the vehicle and found a magnetic box under the driver’s side door containing nine bags of cocaine. Officers also seized £320 in cash and two mobile phones. A search of his home on Grosvenor Road, Tunbridge Wells, recovered another magnetic box with a bag of cocaine. The seized drugs had an estimated street value of £400. The phones contained multiple text messages relating to drug supply in Tunbridge Wells and Tonbridge.
Pleaded guilty to both counts. His car and the seized cash were also forfeited.
Ambrose Treeby

In November 2022, Ambrose Treeby fraudulently obtained and cashed a cheque for £20,000 from a woman in her 90s living near Wrotham Road, Borough Green, making large cash withdrawals afterwards. On 23 January 2023, he entered the home of a woman in her 70s near Loose Road, Maidstone, under false pretences and stole £150 from her handbag. GPS data from his prison tag placed him at both scenes and the Tonbridge bank.
Pleaded guilty to two burglaries and cashing a fraudulently obtained cheque. GPS tag data from prison licence used as evidence. Described as a prolific criminal targeting vulnerable elderly victims.

Andre King

On the evening of 10 June 2021, Andre King, residing in a property on Burley Road, Sittingbourne, heard a commotion downstairs. He went to investigate, returned to his room, put on a stab vest, then sprinted towards the victim who was walking with an associate. King shouted “Who’s got a knife then?” before stabbing the victim in the ribs. He was arrested at the property; police seized a kitchen knife and stab vest from his room. The victim received hospital treatment and made a full recovery.
Pleaded guilty. Previous conviction for manslaughter in 2018. Investigating officer described him as a dangerous individual who did not learn from prior conviction.
Andrew Cakebread
Making indecent images of children *

Andrew Cakebread, a former IT technician, installed unauthorised software on work computers to spy on staff, capturing 6,724 videos of staff members and their family members, plus 79 webcam videos, including covert footage taken in staff toilets. Officers seized his devices on 6 February 2019 at his home in Lower Stone Street, Maidstone, finding 712 indecent images and 206 videos of children. He was further arrested on 29 March 2020 after the spying was discovered.
Pleaded guilty to the offences in October 2020. Investigating officer noted astounding breach of trust as he was in a position of trust and spied on private activities while also accessing child abuse images.
Chay Hart
Causing grievous bodily harm with intent *

On 5 November 2023, Chay Hart suddenly struck the head of a man in his 50s with a glass in an unprovoked assault at a bar in Week Street, Maidstone, causing the victim to fall to the floor. Hart then kicked him twice before being thrown out. The victim suffered cuts to his head and forehead requiring 18 stitches at hospital. Hart was tracked down and arrested near Bishops Way.
Pleaded guilty. Upon release from prison, subject to an extended licence period of two years. Aged 34, of no fixed address.
Charlie Moon
Arson with intent to endanger life *

Charlie Moon, aged 27, of Sandhurst Road, Tunbridge Wells, went to a property near Liptraps Lane on 6 June 2021 where he used a lighter to set fire to a rug whilst threatening a woman he knew ‘I’m gonna set this place alight with you in it’ in front of her friends and a child. The fire was stamped out by one of the victim’s friends before Moon fled. He was arrested the following day. Investigations revealed a previous incident on 3 June 2021 when he was found with quantities of heroin and crack cocaine in his wallet along with a customer tick list during a car stop, and his phone contained messages concerning drugs supply.
Pleaded guilty to a charge of arson with intent to endanger life as well as two counts of possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply. Two further counts of assault and one of criminal damage were ordered by the court to lie on file. Made the subject of a five-year restraining order.
Charlie Olding

Samantha Hart and Charlie Olding acted together to persuade the victim into meeting them at a private address in Chatham in the early hours of 10 September 2020, after Olding sent a text message. The victim was assaulted by Hart as she approached, forced into a cellar where Olding was waiting, threatened, subjected to a prolonged and violent assault, raped and forced to engage in sexual activity. She escaped later that day.
Found guilty of rape and causing the victim to engage in sexual activity following a trial. Also admitted assault causing actual bodily harm. Must serve two-thirds before applying for parole. Aged 22, from Chatham.
Charlie Saunter
Causing grievous bodily harm with intent *

Charlie Saunter, William O’Brien, and Kai Haruna subjected their victim to a prolonged and barbaric assault lasting over six hours in a Gravesend flat on London Road on the evening of 5 July 2020. The victim was repeatedly cut with knives, burned with boiling salt water and a home-made flame thrower, subjected to dog bites and genital mutilation. Haruna jumped on the victim’s chest until he passed out. The attack was linked to a grievance involving money and/or drug supply. The victim could not escape due to threats, duration, and the dog.
Pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession with intent to supply heroin and crack cocaine. Sentences also dealt with two separate cases involving thefts and acts of violence. Must serve at least two thirds before parole and subject to extended licence of four years on release.
Charlie Spice

Charlie Spice entered a relationship with the victim and sought to control every aspect of her daily life, including what clothes she wore, threatening her if she worked late, and interrogating her male friends. This caused her health to deteriorate significantly, leading her to end the relationship. In May 2022, he threatened one of the victim’s relatives with a kitchen knife at an address where she was collecting belongings. In the following month, he assaulted one of the victim’s friends in a Maidstone nightclub in an unprovoked targeted attack, causing a broken jaw requiring ongoing treatment. Arrested on 29 June 2022.
Pleaded guilty to coercive and controlling behaviour, inflicting grievous bodily harm and threatening a person while in possession of a knife.

Bygrave passed some cash to Brazil outside and cut himself during the struggle. Bygrave was arrested on 25 May after CCTV and DNA from blood on the door and a newspaper matched him.

Chloe Glew, 23, of no fixed address, repeatedly stabbed a man in his 30s, known to her, at a flat in Brokes Way, Tunbridge Wells on 9 November 2021 at around 9.45pm. The victim suffered three puncture wounds to his torso, received first aid from neighbours, and was airlifted to a London hospital. Glew lied to police claiming she was trying to help and someone else was responsible, but confessed to several witnesses.
Initially denied wrongdoing but later pleaded guilty. Prolific offender with a lengthy history of convictions related to violent offences.
Chris Enaruba

Chris Enaruba, 19, from Cricklewood, London, travelled to Dartford with an associate on the evening of 14 April 2023 to meet 18-year-old Denzel Njemo. An altercation occurred in the town centre High Street during which Enaruba lunged at Njemo with a knife, inflicting a leg injury. A fight followed and Enaruba stabbed Njemo in the chest. Njemo died at the scene despite police and medical attendance. Enaruba discarded his jacket and knife near an electricity sub-station before seeking treatment at Darenth Valley Hospital. He was arrested on 15 April in Gillingham.

On 21 June 2021 at around 3am, Bradley Pearce was a passenger in a silver BMW X5 driven by Clint Londors to Grain High Street with Jamie Turner. After Londors rammed the Co-op entrance, Pearce entered the shop with Turner stealing cigarettes, alcohol, razor blades and football cards. They stole items worth approximately £1,500 over four minutes. Pearce was arrested near a treeline. Brendan Robb breached a 10-year stalking protection order issued by Medway Magistrates’ Court in April 2022, which prohibited him from contacting the victim and entering Swanley. On 20 April 2023, the victim recognised him walking along Northview, Swanley, wearing a baseball cap, hooded top and camouflaged face mask to conceal his features. He was photographed, ducked behind a car, ran away, and was later seen revealing his face. Arrested the next day in Tunbridge Wells wearing the same mask.
Pleaded guilty. Aged 35, from Eltham, London. Prior convictions related to domestic abuse.
Brett Parker

On 6 November 2018 in Swanley, Brett Parker and Jordan Godfrey, travelling in a stolen Ford Focus, approached several lone females including a schoolgirl under the pretence of seeking directions. Parker grabbed a woman's arm and tried to force her into the car. Later, after crashing into a vehicle in a car park, they targeted two women taking photos, screaming at them to hand over their phones. Parker's DNA was recovered from the victim's coat. Parker, 28, from Dagenham, Essex.
Found guilty of attempted robbery and attempted kidnap after trial. Sentence to be served concurrently with another prison sentence for an unrelated case.

Brian Royce from Chatham committed rape and sexual assault against his victim between April and May 2018. His offending came to light in June 2018 after the victim disclosed the incidents to a friend, who encouraged her to report them to the police. He was arrested the same month and the incident was investigated by Detectives Steve Gibbons and Rachel Ford from Kent Police’s Rape Investigation Team.
Denied committing the crimes but was found guilty of rape and sexual assault following a trial. Targeted a vulnerable woman.

Carl Eldred and his brother Lee became involved in a dispute in the back of a taxi after a night out with friends and family, both having consumed a fair amount of alcohol. Carl repeatedly punched his brother to the back of his head, causing a fatal bleed in Lee’s brain. Lee died shortly thereafter. Originally charged with murder and manslaughter.
Plea to manslaughter accepted by the Crown. Learned judge identified 6 years imprisonment as appropriate starting point after a trial. Sentence later reduced to 3 years imprisonment by the Court of Appeal.

During the early hours of Tuesday 7 March 2023, Cameron Jeffery, 20, of Vale Road, Hawkhurst, targeted a newsagents in Staplehurst High Street where he broke a glass panel on the shop’s front door. He then walked to a second business where he kicked the shop’s front door, causing it to smash onto the floor. He was found drunk on Station Road, was aggressive towards officers attempting to arrest him, threatened to headbutt, spit at and assault them, kicked one officer, and caused further criminal damage in custody by spitting and throwing his meal across his cell.
Pleaded guilty to three counts of criminal damage, assault by beating of an emergency worker and being drunk and disorderly in a public place.
Caleb Umeniyora
Possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin *

On 13 December 2017, police visited a flat in Boundary Road, Chatham, during a routine check and found Caleb Umeniyora and Tristan Sotange acting suspiciously. They were arrested on drug charges. Police discovered 43 wraps of heroin and 35 wraps of crack cocaine with a street value of £780 to £1,560. Videos on their phones captured them packing the drugs for sale and rapping about their drug dealing.
Admitted to possession with intent to supply crack cocaine and heroin. Videos from phones showed him packing drugs and rapping about dealing. Targeted vulnerable resident to use flat as drug base.
Ben Goodall

Ben Goodall and his father Nigel Goodall used a glass and a dining fork to attack a customer at a restaurant on Lower Stone Street, Maidstone, on 18 March 2020 at around 8.30pm. The assault was unprovoked after the victim had asked them to moderate their offensive language. Ben punched the victim’s face multiple times, then Nigel stabbed the victim’s head repeatedly with a fork and smashed a glass into his face. The victim suffered deep cuts to his head and required hospital treatment.
Aged 44, of Kent Road, Snodland. Pleaded not guilty to wounding with intent. Convicted after an eight-day trial at Maidstone Crown Court.
Ben Hanger

15-year extended prison sentence (10 years custody and 5 years on licence)
Ben Hanger, 31, from Sheerness, grabbed an 11-year-old schoolgirl’s wrist near a bus stop on Halfway Road, Isle of Sheppey, at around 7.30am on Thursday 21 January 2021, whispering ‘come with me’. She pushed him away and ran to a relative’s house. He had been sitting in a blue car, followed her closely, and was identified from CCTV running back to his car. Arrested later that day and picked out in an identity parade the next day.
Pleaded not guilty to attempted kidnap but convicted following trial. Also sentenced for arranging the commission of a child sex offence and making and distributing images of child abuse.
Ben Mccormick
Rape and assault occasioning actual bodily harm *

On 28 December 2021, officers were called to an address where Ben McCormick raped and assaulted a woman, causing injuries to her face, neck and arms. He was arrested in connection with the incident and charged with rape and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Pleaded guilty to both counts. Will serve two thirds of sentence before eligible for release. Added to sex offenders register for life.
Benjamin Henley

Benjamin Henley, 45, from Chatham, was more than two and a half times over the drink drive limit when he collided with a black Audi which had broken down on a slip road on the A249 in Bobbing on 24 October 2018 at around 11.50pm. Georgia Mann, 15, from Sittingbourne, was inside the stranded vehicle and died the following day in hospital. A woman in her 20s sustained serious injuries and a man in his 20s suffered chest injuries.
Admitted causing death by dangerous driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Also disqualified from driving for nine and a half years and must take an extended retest.
