The crash killed her two sons despite them being properly restrained and seriously injured the Audi's driver, his wife, and her brother, with two suffering life-threatening injuries. Sheppard had noticed the tyre issue the previous day but mistakenly had the front tyre checked instead. She drove within the speed limit with no other vehicle defects.
