This caused damage to 18 vehicles and several buildings, with repair costs exceeding £183,000. He was identified through CCTV footage, witness statements, and a police investigation, leading to his arrest on Wednesday 17 May 2023.

Pled guilty to all charges. Police constable Tracey Street commented that Giddins' dangerous driving showed utter contempt for both the law and the victims who sustained serious injuries.

The victim sustained serious stab wounds that narrowly missed major arteries, leaving her permanently scarred and suffering from psychological harm, including post-traumatic stress disorder. Wilkes had researched child killings, including the Southport murders and other cases, and possessed multiple knives. He had prior convictions, including a suspended sentence for assault causing actual bodily harm to an eight-year-old boy in 2016.

On September 7, 2023, at around 6.15pm, Benjamin Charles Foster, aged 35 and driving a red Ford Transit minibus, was involved in a crash on the A30 Sherborne Road at Purse Caundle near Sherborne. He crossed into a filter lane as if to turn right before continuing onward towards oncoming traffic, colliding head-on with a red Toyota Yaris. A red Volkswagen Polo, travelling behind the Yaris, then collided with the rear of the Yaris. A man in his 60s was taken to hospital by air ambulance with serious injuries. A man and a woman, both in their late teens, were also taken to hospital with serious injuries. A road closure was implemented to allow emergency services to respond.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and using a motor vehicle without third party insurance. Banned from driving for seven years.
Darryl John Cornish

During the attack, Cornish strangled the woman, threw her to the ground, pushed her down the stairs, and threw her belongings. Following an investigation involving door-to-door enquiries, statements and mobile phone footage, Cornish was charged and convicted of non-fatal strangulation and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
PC Harry Chaplin stated: “Domestic abuse is a top priority for the force and we are fully committed to supporting victims and ensuring perpetrators are brought to justice. Darryl Cornish subjected his victim to a sustained and violent assault, which has had a lasting impact on her mental and physical wellbeing. I am pleased that he is now behind bars and facing the consequences for his actions.”

On 10 December 2024, Jake Saunders was observed damaging a white VW Transporter van on a driveway in Abbotsbury Road, Weymouth. Anthony Jacob, aged 75, challenged him, after which Saunders assaulted Jacob by knocking him to the floor, kicking and stamping on his head repeatedly. Jacob was airlifted to hospital with serious head and facial injuries and died on 19 December 2024. Saunders fled the scene, was arrested later that evening, and assaulted three police officers while in custody. He was under the influence of alcohol and cannabis at the time of the attack.
Pleaded guilty to murder, three counts of assault by beating of an emergency worker, and two counts of criminal damage. Reductions applied for early guilty plea and time served on remand. Judge Susan Evans noted the victim's character, the brutality of the attack, and Saunders' remorse despite his intoxication.

Luke Yarwood, 36, from Burton near Christchurch, made a series of anti-Muslim and anti-immigration social media posts from December 21, 2024, to January 29, 2025, following the Christmas market car attack in Magdeburg, Germany, on December 20, 2024, which killed six and injured 338. Responding to false claims that the attacker was an Islamic extremist, Yarwood posted calls to 'head for the hotels housing them and burn them to the ground' and urged British people to 'gang together and start the slaughter', beginning with burning migrant hotels then targeting MPs' houses and Parliament. The posts targeted high-profile migrant hotels in Bournemouth, Dorset, near his home, and had potential to trigger disorder amid national tensions around asylum seekers.
Pleaded not guilty but convicted. Judge Jonathan Fuller described the posts as 'odious' and designed to stir up racial hatred and incite violence. Defence argued posts had only 33 views and were 'impotent rantings' with no real-world consequences.

Adam Harris, of St Leonards and St Ives, was arrested on Sunday, January 10, 2021, in Cumbria following information received by police. Officers searched storage containers controlled by the defendant on land at Throop Mill, Bournemouth, and seized several firearms, including a Smith & Weston 44 Magnum revolver, two Glock pistols and a Beretta Tomcat-32 pistol. In total, six rifles were assembled from disassembled parts including a Winchester Savage bolt-action rifle, a Remington Ruger semi-automatic rifle, a Ruger Long semi-automatic rifle and a Nagant bolt-action rifle. A crossbow, a Cobra stun-gun, further disassembled gun parts and multiple rounds of ammunition were also located.
Pleaded guilty to possessing firearms without a licence. Weapons and ammunition to be forfeited.

He left empty-handed in a white Seat Ibiza with concealed number plates. He was arrested following enquiries and CCTV review. He appeared at Bournemouth Crown Court on December 6 for sentencing.
Admitted attempted robbery and possessing a bladed article. Asked for three shoplifting offences to be taken into consideration.

Further examination of seized devices revealed over 1,500 indecent images of children, including 282 Category A, 446 Category B, and 811 Category C images. He was charged with three counts of possessing indecent images of children and sentenced at Bournemouth Crown Court.

On 18 September 2022 at around 5pm, Michael Stewart was driving a Mazda MX5 on Rye Hill in Bere Regis when he failed to stop behind a line of stationary vehicles, striking a Ford C-Max. His vehicle then crossed into the opposite carriageway and collided with an oncoming Suzuki Ignis. The passenger of the Suzuki, a 62-year-old woman, died at the scene and the driver, a woman in her 30s, sustained life-changing injuries. Stewart had been travelling behind other vehicles that had stopped for a right turn.
Pleaded guilty to causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving and causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving. Found not guilty of dangerous driving offences. Also disqualified from driving for two years.

The victim, a man in his 30s from Bournemouth, required hospital treatment and has been left with a permanent scar. Savory was identified and arrested following an investigation that included CCTV footage and forensic evidence linking a seized knife and T-shirt to the incident.
Pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of a knife. Also handed a restraining order to last until further notice.

She collided with cyclist James Raeburn on the B3078 Julians Road in Wimborne, causing his death at the scene. She failed to stop and was later located in Corfe Mullen. She also admitted failing to stop after a collision and driving a vehicle in a dangerous condition.
Pleaded guilty. Also disqualified from driving for 5 years (to commence on release). Judge commended members of the public who assisted police.

Maximillian Muskath, 26, from Harcourt Road in London, groomed a Dorset teenager on Discord for months, sharing sexual fantasies and inappropriate images despite knowing the child was underage and vulnerable. He convinced the child to throw away their phone and abducted them, harbouring them in his mother's home. The child was found in pain and distress, with Muskath's DNA on their pyjamas, and police discovered indecent images on his devices dating back to 2017. The child's mother described the devastating impact, noting the child had lost faith in people and become a shell of themselves.
Pleaded guilty to child abduction, meeting a child following grooming, possession of prohibited images, and three counts of making indecent images of children. Mitigating lawyer stated he is not a sexual predator and has his own vulnerabilities. Judge noted his motive was sexual and he showed no regard for the harm caused.
Muhammed Esam
Being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs *

Muhammed Esam was detained on February 20, 2024, in the area of Meyrick Road, Bournemouth, during a police operation to disrupt drug supply. He was found in possession of four bags of heroin, five bags of crack cocaine, a mobile phone, and £418.41 in cash. He was arrested and charged as part of Operation Scorpion 11, which aimed to tackle criminal networks supplying illegal drugs.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
Arda Arslan
Possessing indecent images of children *

Arda Arslan, 21, of St Martin's Road, Upton, Poole, was arrested on unrelated matters and found to be possessing indecent images of children as young as eight years old. The images were category B and C and depicted children aged eight and ten. At Bournemouth Crown Court on 21 June 2024, he pleaded guilty. The court heard he was 17 to 18 at the time of the offences, socially isolated but supported by his family, and of previous good character.
Pleaded guilty to possessing indecent images of children. Was aged 17-18 at the time of the offences. Recorder Tait noted he was of previous good character. The community order includes a programme treatment requirement, 40 days of rehabilitation activity, 180 hours of unpaid work, and a sexual harm prevention order for five years.
Perry Michael Legg

On the evening of July 20, 2021, Perry Michael Legg and the victim, a woman aged in her 20s who was known to the defendant, were at her home address in Bournemouth and had been drinking when Legg began physically assaulting her before proceeding to rape her in a sustained sexual attack. She subsequently fled to a neighbour’s address and contacted a friend, who came to collect her. Police were called and Legg was arrested in the early hours of the following morning. Following the defendant’s arrest, his phone was analysed and found to contain a number of images depicting extreme pornographic material.
Found guilty at trial of three charges of rape and one offence of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Admitted possessing extreme pornographic material. Also made subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order and placed on the sex offenders’ register for life.
David Clift

David Clift committed nine commercial burglaries in Swanage, Weymouth and Dorchester between 13 December 2023 and 27 February 2024, targeting premises including cafés, churches and a hair salon. He admitted a further 23 burglaries – 15 in Weymouth, four in Dorchester, two in Wareham, one in Swanage and one in Crewkerne – taken into consideration at sentencing. While in custody after arrest on 28 February 2024, he spat at and kicked an emergency worker. He also committed a fraud offence.
Pleaded guilty to nine burglary offences, assaulting an emergency worker and a fraud offence. Asked for a further 23 burglaries to be taken into consideration. Prolific offender targeting commercial premises.
Dannie Thomas O’Leary
Causing death by dangerous driving *

On June 15, 2023, near the Ashley Heath Roundabout on the A338, Dannie Thomas O’Leary was driving a Mercedes AMG at speeds in excess of 80mph while appearing to race with another vehicle. The vehicles undertook traffic and swerved between lanes. As they approached a Nissan Micra, the Mercedes swerved to undertake it while the other vehicle collided with the Nissan, causing it to lose control. This resulted in the death of passenger George Greaves and serious injuries to two others. O’Leary did not stop and drove off. He pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving and two offences of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Entered guilty pleas. Also banned from driving for 12 years and two months, with the ban due to commence when released from prison. Witnesses described him racing and driving at excessive speeds.

Ryan James Duncan

Ryan James Duncan entered a flat in Bourne Avenue, Bournemouth, at around 7.55am on January 3, 2024, and stole a Macbook Air, three pairs of Nike trainers, a gold chain, and car keys. He then took the victim's Mercedes, which was involved in a crash in Christchurch shortly after 10am that day. Duncan was caught on CCTV leaving the scene and was identified as the suspect through fingerprint evidence and CCTV footage.
Pleaded guilty to charges of using a motor vehicle without insurance, driving whilst disqualified, and dwelling burglary. Detective Sergeant David Went of the neighbourhood crime team commented on the team's proactive response in pursuing criminality.
Dragos Serban
Possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A *

Dragos Serban was pulled over in his black Mercedes in Poole on September 30, 2024, during a stop and search. Police discovered a yellow plastic egg containing 16 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin, more than £400 in cash, and two phones with messages advertising the sale of drugs in Bournemouth. He was subsequently charged and sentenced.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A. Police constable Bill Newton of Dorset Police commented on the investigation and the commitment to pursuing drug dealers.
William Hosking
Actual Bodily Harm, Grievous Bodily Harm, and Engaging in Sexual Activity with a Girl Under 16 *

William Hosking, 22, cruelly abused and permanently disfigured a 13-year-old girl over a significant period. He inflicted physical injuries including slapping, punching, dragging, causing bleeding and cuts that left permanent scarring. He engaged in sexual activity with the victim and was described as possessive. Officers found ceremonial knives, masks, and items suggesting a fascination with perverted sex at his property. When arrested, he was armed with a knife.
Added to the sex offenders register for life. Defense claimed remorse and that the behaviour was due to childhood issues. Judge described him as a dangerous offender who enjoyed inflicting pain.

Gabriel Marinoaica

On July 18, 2021, Gabriel Marinoaica targeted a group of young girls on Bournemouth beach. He pulled the 15-year-old victim, who could not swim, into deeper water, groped her, raped her while covering her mouth to prevent her from screaming or seeking help, and ignored her pleas that she did not want to have sex. The attack occurred in broad daylight on a busy summer afternoon, making the victim feel vulnerable and frightened. Semen found in the complainant’s bikini matched his DNA, leading to his arrest 11 months later.
Found guilty by jury of three charges of sexual assault and rape; acquitted of one charge of sexual assault by biting. Judge Susan Evans KC noted predatory behaviour, the attack's brazen nature in a public place, and that it undermined public confidence in safety. Also subject to a sexual harm prevention order for 20 years and required to sign the sex offenders’ register for life.
