Police visited the store in May 2024 and his home in August 2024, seizing items after a tip-off. He offered these protected species for sale online between June 2019 and January 2024, violating relevant legislation.

On December 25, 2024, at 8pm, police were called to Graham Day's home in Sutton Bridge regarding a separate incident. While being arrested, Day became abusive, repeatedly swore at PC Robert Arliss, called him offensive names, and kicked out at him, though no injury was caused. Day had been drinking and did not want to go with the police. He later apologised after viewing body-worn camera footage and wrote a letter to police. The original incident prompting the police call was not pursued further.

Hemen Nasradeen Salih, 39, from Dudley, admitted 14 charges relating to the selling of illegal cigarettes and vapes at the Easy Shop in Station Street, Spalding, and addresses in St Paul’s Road and Westlode Street. Offences included applying false trademarks, supplying flavoured tobacco, breaching packaging regulations, selling without health warnings and possessing criminal property. The offences occurred on 12 December 2023 and 15 February 2024.
Admitted all 14 charges. Pleaded guilty.
James Grogan

James Grogan, 54, of Park Avenue in Louth, went on a drunken rampage through Louth while intoxicated, abusing a number of shop workers and members of the public, and damaging several vehicles. He refused to leave premises during the incident.

On March 8, 2021, at 3pm, Graham Paul Day, 58, of Withington Street, Sutton Bridge, engaged in shouting and arguments with his partner, leading to police being called by a female neighbour of Portuguese, Welsh, and English descent. After police left, Day demanded to know who called them and racially abused her with racist names, accused her of a lesbian relationship with another neighbour, and made malevolent allegations of drug use and sexual language against various neighbours. This behaviour, building since 2019, caused the victim to move away. Day, who suffers from alcoholism and has 10 prior convictions, was arrested and suggested the victims colluded. He has no prior similar convictions but was under a suspended sentence.
Admitted causing racially aggravated alarm, harassment and distress. Breached an eight-week suspended sentence for assault from 2020. Ordered to pay £128 in court charges upon release and issued a restraining order preventing contact with the two victims.

On April 27, Danielus Giegals' Mercedes broke down at traffic lights on Carlton Road in Boston while he was heading out shopping. He had drunk with friends the night before. Officers found the vehicle with its engine running and hazard lights on. Giegals gave a breath reading of 44 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml, above the 35mcg limit. He was working as a courier at the time but is now on benefits.
Pleaded guilty to drink driving. Had a previous 16-month ban for drug driving. Can reduce ban by 36 weeks by completing a drink driver rehabilitation course.

Adam Beeson stole cheese, meat and protein bars worth a combined £115.75 from three Co-Op stores in Spalding, Holbeach and Whaplode over four days in February 2026 after his methadone prescription was stopped. He hid items in his jacket pocket on at least two occasions.

Colin Haw launched an online video campaign to stop men from meeting for sex in a public wood popular with families. He had previously complained to the police but was ignored. In June, he took a group of men to the wood dressed in balaclavas and carrying video cameras to film the meetings in an attempt to shame them. One man who was filmed found the footage online and called the police. Haw admitted a public order offence.
Chairman of the bench described his actions as premeditated and deliberate targeting a vulnerable group. He was described as misguided but thought he was doing the right thing.

Barry Trowbridge, 68, of Battlefields Lane North, Holbeach, was involved in a hit and run incident on February 4 while driving a Ford Mondeo at the junction of Park Road and the A17. He was heading to pick up his wife when another vehicle crashed into the back of his car. A member of the public took his keys suspecting drink driving. He was found to have 67 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath (legal limit 35).
No previous convictions. Devastated to receive first conviction. Told police he had consumed one can of alcohol and two cans of non-alcoholic beer.

James Viggers pretended to be from the police to offer £100 to drop sexual offences charges. He admitted two charges of illegal sexual activity with a 17-year-old involving touching over clothes in May, and harassment without violence after being charged. The harassment occurred when he returned to the victim's property, claimed to be police, entered the home and offered money to drop charges.

Himn Farag Sharif, director of Baltic store in Winsover Road, Spalding, admitted 14 counts relating to the sale of illegal cigarettes and vapes. A test buy in April 2022 led to a search in December 2022 which found counterfeit cigarettes, items without VAT, flavoured cigarettes and illegal vapes. He had prior similar convictions from 2015.

Lee Dagless, 33, of no fixed address, was found over the driving limit for cannabis and amphetamines when police noticed his car parked on Welland Bank near Crowland just before 11pm on 9 April. The engine was still running and officers noticed a strong smell of cannabis. He returned a positive result for cannabis at the scene and later blood tests showed 4.9 for cannabis (limit 2) and 45 for amphetamines (limit 10). He had begun smoking cannabis after parking and had taken amphetamines at a music venue three days earlier. He was waiting for his girlfriend to arrive.
Admitted two offences of being over the specified limit for drugs while in charge of a motor vehicle. No previous convictions. Mitigating factors included anxiety and depression. Also received 10 points on licence, £160 surcharge and £85 court costs.
Samantha Costello

Samantha Costello (51), of Boston Road South, assaulted a lady and stole £8 from her. She pleaded guilty at Boston Magistrates’ Court last week and received the sentence from magistrates.

Stuart Davies (43), of Princes Street, Sutton Bridge, admitted driving above the alcohol limit in the car park of the town’s Co-Op on May 31 with his ten-year-old daughter in the car. He collided with another car and was found to have 101 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath (legal limit 35 microgrammes). He had previously drunk regularly due to sciatica and arthritis but had not done so since the incident.
Admitted offence. District judge Daniel Church noted the collision and that no-one was seriously injured. Davies had not realised he was over the limit at the time.
