The first shot missed, but the second shattered the rear windscreen, causing multiple oozing wounds to the back of the victim's head, puncture wounds, and pellet wounds to his body. The incident occurred in broad daylight in a queue of traffic and was witnessed by a police officer. Hussain had been dropped off earlier by co-defendant Naveed Hussain, used a black holdall to hide the shotgun and false registration plates on the vehicle, abandoned the car in Oldbury after the shooting, and later collected it with changed plates. The victim, in his 20s, sought treatment at Midland Met Hospital but did not require major intervention. CCTV footage aided identification by West Midlands Police.

He contacted a 12-year-old through social media using the alias Ziggy, engaged in sexualised conversations, sent inappropriate videos and pictures of himself, threatened to harm her if she did not share indecent images, and shared footage of him having sex with a 15-year-old girl. He also smoked drugs with one victim and forced himself upon her while filming the attack. All offences took place between July 2024 and September 2024.
Pleaded guilty to four offences of rape, two of taking indecent images of a child, two offences of sharing indecent images and engaging in sexual communication. Added to the sex offenders register for life.

Harminder Mattu murdered his wife Paramjit Kaur, known as 'Soni', at their home in Swan Crescent off Titford Road in Oldbury on March 31, 2023. She was discovered by officers with a knife at her side at around 8.20am, having suffered a stab wound and scratch marks to her neck, with clear signs of a struggle and indications that pressure had been applied to various parts of her body. Mattu reported the incident himself at West Bromwich Police Station. The couple had been in a deeply unhappy marriage due to his drinking and abusive behaviour, including twisting her leg during an argument, leaving her requiring hospital treatment. The murder occurred after she asked for a divorce.
Found guilty by unanimous jury verdict. Claimed partner fell down the stairs.
Erjon Aliaj

Erjon Aliaj, 35, of no fixed address, was behind the wheel of a white Mercedes when he lost control at speed nearing a bend in Thimblemill Road, Smethwick, on August 28, 2023. The car mounted the kerb and smashed into four cars, including the one Baljit Kaur, 62, was stepping out of after being dropped off at home by a colleague. Baljit was pronounced dead at the scene despite paramedics' efforts. Aliaj was arrested at the scene.

Tyrone Moran, a 19-year-old from Holcroft Road, Oldswinford, hit pedestrian Salma Rafique, aged 27, as she was crossing the road on a pedestrian crossing on Thorns Road in Quarry Bank on September 29, 2023, at around 8pm. He fled the scene, leaving her for dead, and the car was found abandoned nearby. Moran handed himself in at a police station later that evening, and Salma was declared dead at the scene.
Pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving. Also banned from driving for five years.
Rahul Sharma
Murder and Rape *

On June 16, 2022, Rahul Sharma carried out a brutal and sustained attack on Helen Kempster in Wolverhampton. He dragged her to the ground, punched, kicked, and stamped on her multiple times, throttled her, told her she was going to die, and raped her. The attack lasted at least 15 minutes, resulting in Ms Kempster suffering more than 15 broken ribs, a brain haemorrhage, and a knocked-out tooth, leading to her death.
Denied the attack throughout the investigation and trial. Judge described him as 'extremely dangerous' and he has been placed on the sex offenders register for life.

Lee MacDivitt conducted a series of shop thefts in Bilston, stealing goods worth around £2,000 from several stores between November 1 and December 6 of the previous year. He targeted the same stores multiple times in a day, taking food and household goods, and also stole cash and bank cards from a property in Dudley. Additionally, he assaulted a police officer by riding at them on a bicycle during his arrest in Bilston.
Pleaded guilty to 27 charges of theft, stealing cash and bank cards from a property in Dudley, and assaulting a police officer. Also handed a criminal behaviour order banning him from areas of Bilston for two years.
Carl Ellitts

Carl Ellitts followed Roy Deeley-Price after he withdrew £10 from a cashpoint at a Shell garage in Tettenhall Road, Wolverhampton, on May 28, 2023. He pushed the victim into a driveway, stamped on his head, face, and body multiple times, causing fatal skull fractures. Ellitts returned to the body several times to continue the attack, attempted to use the victim's bank card to buy a sandwich, and was involved in a string of other crimes during a four-day rampage, including three robberies, assault with intention to rob, and raping two vulnerable women.
Pleaded guilty to murder, robberies, and assault with intention to rob; found guilty of four counts of rape after a trial. Judge described him as a 'bully and a coward' and noted his history of violence, intimidation, drug and alcohol problems.
