Samuel Gold, 31, from Freshwater Grove in Leamington, and Michael Hackett carried out two armed robberies on January 15, 2017. In the first, at a service station on Stratford Road in Warwick, Gold acted as a customer while Hackett entered through a missing fence panel, armed with an imitation gun, forcing the cashier to empty the till. They escaped with cash and cigarettes. In the second, at a store on Church Road in Long Itchington, Hackett entered with the imitation firearm, threatening two members of staff to empty the tills, escaping with cash. Upon arrest, the imitation pistol was recovered from under Gold's bed, along with cannabis, cocaine, drug paraphernalia, and property from recent burglaries. Gold was on bail for possession with intent to supply cannabis and cocaine.
Found guilty of the armed robberies and possession of imitation firearm during a trial in July 2017. Pleaded guilty to drugs charges and handling stolen goods separately. Will have to serve at least two thirds of sentence before any parole application.

On July 26, 2016, Dylan Kalubi, aged 22, went to a flat in Spon End, Coventry, confronted a man over an alleged £25 unpaid drug debt, produced a knife from his pocket, and stabbed the victim nine times in a frenzied attack. The victim was found in a hallway with heavy bleeding and drifting in and out of consciousness. CCTV footage showed Kalubi entering the block of flats wearing a distinctive hooded McKenzie top, which was later recovered from a rubbish chute with both Kalubi’s and the victim’s blood on it. The victim made a full recovery but was left with scars. Additionally, on May 29, 2016, Kalubi knocked a man unconscious with a mop handle during trouble at So Club Room in Coventry, then punched and kicked him in the head while he lay defenceless, and threatened other clubbers with his belt. The injured man suffered facial fractures, a bleed on the brain, was placed in an induced coma for 20 days, and now has permanent blurred vision in his right eye.
Pleaded guilty on the first day of his trial. Also sentenced to 6 months concurrent for affray related to a prior incident.

Brian Timmins, 54, was operating a digger on Saturday 15 September 2018, when he lifted labourer David Willis, 29, onto the top of an industrial shredder following a blockage which had jammed the machine at Timmins Waste Services in Wolverhampton. Willis was then seen on CCTV working on and within the shredder, and footage from another camera showed the machine still operating while he was sitting within it. Willis’ mother reported him missing on the night after he failed to return home from work. Timmins reported the incident to police on Monday 17 September after Willis’ coat was found at work. West Midlands Police then reviewed CCTV from the previous Saturday and it emerged Willis had fallen into the shredder. Operating the shredder with Mr Willis in a vulnerable position was grossly negligent.

He targeted girls for his sexual gratification, telling a 12-year-old she was 'hot and sexy as hell' and expressing a desire to 'teach her to enjoy her body'. His activities were uncovered when he contacted an undercover police officer posing as a 13-year-old girl, leading to a raid on his home where 93 indecent images of children were found on his laptop. Images included a female as young as four. He accessed 141,000 other images via the dark web and private networks over a four-year period, failed to provide passcodes for four devices and made 'no comment' in interviews.
Pleaded guilty to three counts relating to possessing indecent photographs on May 18 last year. Recorder Abigail Nixon described his behaviour as 'perverted' and said it would affect the rest of his life. Mitigator noted it was unacceptable but he had attended courses with the Lucy Faithfull Foundation.

Jaspar Ojela, who owned Kates Hill Pharmacy in Dudley, supplied over 200,000 doses of controlled drugs including opiate painkillers, tranquilisers and cancer drugs to criminals on the black market between February and September 2016. The medicines, with a street value of £280,490, included 3,477 packets of zolpidem, 1,420 packets of zopiclone, 400 packets of dihydrocodeine and 350 packets of tramadol. He admitted purchasing the drugs and selling them without the required licences.
Pleaded guilty to supplying Class B and Class C controlled drugs. Will serve half of sentence. Additional court action to recover proceeds and fitness to practise hearing pending.

Jahzeen Carpenter, of Peak Drive, Lower Gornal, drove to London in her Mercedes convertible on the evening of December 27, 2022, a day after her son Kami Carpenter stabbed Cody Fisher to death at the Crane nightclub in Digbeth, Birmingham, on Boxing Day 2022. Her son had two suitcases of clothes and had booked a flight to Jamaica due to depart at 1.20pm on December 28. They were arrested by officers outside flats in Lewisham, South East London, around 8.30am on December 28, 2022. Over £5,000 cash was seized from her car.

Fawad Hakimi, 29, from Wolverhampton, committed a series of violent sexual attacks on three women between February and August 2023. The first incident occurred in April 2023 near his home on Merridale Street, where he raped and sexually assaulted a woman. Subsequent attacks took place in the Wednesfield area: a sexual assault on a woman walking home, and an attempted rape in her residence in August 2023. Hakimi also used a stolen bank card from one victim's home at a local shop, and broke into a car, stealing earphones. He was convicted of rape, attempted rape, multiple counts of sexual assault, fraud, burglary, and theft. The victims gave evidence via pre-recorded video statements. On 12 April 2024, he was sentenced to 24 years in prison.
Convicted by a jury in March 2024 after denying all charges. Placed on the sex offenders register for life. Minimum term of 16 years before parole eligibility. Forensic evidence including DNA from a jacket and cigarette butt, and stolen bank card usage linked him to the crimes. Victims provided pre-recorded evidence.

Gary Rolinson, a driving instructor who ran a driving school in Kingswinford, sexually abused six boys during their driving lessons over a period of two years. He told the boys they would not be believed if they reported the assaults.

On 29 November 2017, a sawn-off shotgun was fired twice at the window of a house in Oxford Street, Rugby, in a conflict believed to be over drug-dealing. Blackstock, who was wearing an electronic tag, picked up Rea and drove to the location. Rea fired the weapon. Blackstock's previous convictions included manslaughter and robbery. The shotgun was later found wrapped in bin bags at a picnic site, one bag bearing Rea's fingerprint.
