Qamil Cama, a 54-year-old building firm director, rented out a property without planning permission by converting a garage on Crescent Road into a rental. He demanded extra cash from his tenant, who paid £800 a month inclusive of bills, to cover increased bills. When questioned, arguments turned violent, leading to an illegal eviction where belongings were thrown onto the street. The London Borough of Barnet prosecuted him for failing to comply with an Enforcement Notice and two offences under the Protection from Eviction Act 1977.
The judge called Cama a ‘rogue landlord’ and said he was “lucky the prisons were full”. Found guilty after a two-day trial.

Ofure Patience Ehizode was caught selling toxic bottles of banned skin-lightening products containing dangerous chemicals known to cause serious health problems, including hydroquinone which causes premature ageing, weakening of the skin, liver damage, and increased risk of skin cancer. The products were sold through her business EllaGold Ltd. Following a tip-off from Swedish authorities, trading standards officers at Barnet Council searched her home on Heywood Avenue in Colindale and seized more than 3,500 products in February 2023 as part of an international investigation.
Pleaded guilty to 15 counts of breaching Cosmetics Products Enforcement Regulations 2013 on behalf of herself and the company EllaGold Ltd, of which she is the sole director.

Ayoub Alshirredi stole a family's suitcase from the overhead storage on a train from London Bridge to Gatwick Airport on 27th October. He boarded the train at London Bridge just after 2pm, walked through the carriage, and as the train arrived at East Croydon, grabbed the bag and walked off. The family discovered the theft upon arrival at Gatwick and reported it to the British Transport Police. CCTV footage identified Alshirredi, who was arrested on 27th February. Despite the evidence, he answered 'no comment' to all questions in interview.
Pleaded guilty to the offence at an earlier hearing.

Oliver Glasner was detected by a speed camera driving his BMW at 29mph in a 20mph zone on the Old Kent Road in Bermondsey, London, just before 7.30am on July 15, 2023. The incident occurred as his vehicle passed through traffic lights opposite a Tesco supermarket. He initially attempted to pay a fixed penalty fine, but due to accumulating 12 or more penalty points from prior offences, the matter was referred to court. Glasner submitted a guilty plea in writing on January 27, 2024, and a letter on February 16, 2024, accepting responsibility and the ban.

Rehan Sheikh waged a war of intimidation against tenants in his HMO property in Wembley, north London. The property was in terrible disrepair with holes in ceilings, walls and floor, filthy carpets, and used for dumping rubbish, despite receiving almost £3,000 monthly rent. When tenants complained, Sheikh fraudulently claimed they were squatters, obtained a possession order without notice, and evicted six occupiers including one with two young children, giving them only two hours to leave and refusing to wait for children returning from school. He assaulted one tenant during the eviction. Brent Council prosecuted for unlawful eviction, failure to have HMO licence, and poor conditions discovered in January 2016.
Pleaded guilty to all charges. Appealed the custodial sentence and granted bail pending appeal hearing.
