Zakir Hussain, 30, posted a series of messages on X account @lewiswarren911 between November 2023 and January 2024 celebrating the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel that killed about 1,200 people and took over 250 hostages. He also posted statements in support of proscribed terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah, and numerous antisemitic comments including praise for Adolf Hitler.
Pleaded guilty to all charges on the first day of his trial. Was serving a suspended prison sentence for previous malicious communications offences at the time of arrest.

On 10 May 2008, in the Three Cooks Bakery on Burnt Ash Hill, south London, Jake Fahri entered the shop and began an altercation with Jimmy Mizen after making threats. Fahri hit Mizen with plastic bottles, they traded punches, then Fahri re-entered with a metal sign and threw a 12-inch hot glass dish at Mizen. The dish shattered on Mizen's chin, and a glass shard pierced his neck, severing the carotid artery and jugular veins, causing fatal blood loss.
Admitted throwing the glass dish but denied murder. Had prior convictions for robbery, violence, assault, and burglary. Trial before Mr Justice Calvert-Smith.

Judge Stephen Mitchell remarked: 'Your crimes are uniquely terrible... the cold-blooded murders of an eight-week-old baby and an 18-month-old toddler, not to mention the murder of their mother, father and grandmother, provide a chilling insight into the utterly perverted standards by which you have lived your lives... your characters are as despicable as your crimes. On 8 December 1995, 15-year-old Learco Chindamo, leader of the Wo Shing Wo gang (mainly Filipino pupils aspiring to be like Triads), took twelve gang members to St George's Catholic School in Maida Vale, London, to 'punish' 13-year-old pupil William Njoh over a quarrel with a Filipino pupil. Chindamo punched headmaster Philip Lawrence, who intervened to protect the boy, and stabbed him in the chest with a knife. Lawrence died in hospital that evening.
Convicted of murder at age 15 after claiming mistaken identity; jury unanimously rejected his defence. Trial judge recommended minimum of 12 years be served. Appeal dismissed on 10 October 1997.

The gun was recovered weeks later in Enfield.

Thomas Pickford and Scott Walker went to Clapham Common specifically to commit homophobic thuggery after drinking. On 14 October 2005 around midnight, they encountered Jody Dobrowski, assumed he was gay due to the location being a known cruising site, exchanged words, then attacked him with punches and kicks, hurling homophobic insults. Dobrowski suffered 33 areas of injury to head, face, ears and neck, swollen brain, broken nose, and bruising to neck, spine and groin. He was found unconscious early on 15 October 2005 and died in hospital.
Pleaded guilty to murder. Involved in prior homophobic attack against a gay man. Sentencing utilised Section 146 of the Criminal Justice Act 2003 for aggravation due to victim's sexual orientation. Judge: Brian Barker QC.
Vitalie Daikov

Vitalie Daikov caused the death of 31-year-old Kamil Metler by inflicting severe head wounds in an alleyway on Montague Road, Hounslow, on 8 October 2017. The victim was found fatally injured at 2:52am, having been kicked and stamped on while lying injured. Earlier, they had been at the Yates pub on Bath Road with a woman who fled before the attack. Daikov claimed self-defence fearing robbery but police confirmed they had never met before. Post-mortem at Uxbridge Mortuary confirmed head injuries as cause of death.
Pled guilty to manslaughter at Blackfriars Crown Court in March. Acquitted of murder. Must serve at least two thirds of sentence.

Levi Bellfield abducted 13-year-old Milly Dowler on 21 March 2002 from Station Avenue, Walton-on-Thames, Surrey, England. Majid Butt, 51, from Gade Close, Hayes, strangled his 71-year-old mother Onees Khatoon with an electrical cable at their family home after a heated row on Sunday, 13 May 2018. She died from asphyxia and neck compression. Butt calmly confessed at Hayes police station around 1pm, telling officers 'I came here to confess that I have strangled my mother.' He claimed his mum threatened to kick him out, sparking the deadly clash. Onees had serious health problems and limited mobility.
Pleaded guilty to murder.
Matthew King

Matthew King, a 19-year-old convert to Islam from Christianity, plotted an Islamist terror attack on police officers or UK soldiers between 22 December 2021 and 17 May 2022. He conducted surveillance at Stratford police station, train station, magistrates court, and a British Army barracks in east London. He posted images of police officers on Snapchat captioned 'Target Acquired', searched online for terrorist attacks and training, praised Osama Bin Laden, fantasised about jihad and torturing Marines in chats, and penned violent song lyrics. He was reported by his mother to Prevent and arrested at his home in Wickford, Essex, where camouflage gear was found.
Pleaded guilty to preparation of terrorist acts. Judge Mark Lucraft KC noted clear and concerning risks, praised mother's report to Prevent, and assessed higher likelihood of UK attack over joining ISIS in Syria.
Mckenzie Morgan

McKenzie Morgan, from Llanfrechfa near Cwmbran in South Wales, idolised Axel Rudakubana and planned a terror attack on an Oasis concert at Principality Stadium in Cardiff and a local dance school. He researched targets, attempted to buy a knife online, boasted about making ricin to friends, downloaded a terror manual, and wrote notes expressing admiration for Rudakubana including references to 'Axelcels'. Arrested in June 2025 after friends reported him.
Charged with possession of a terrorist document. Pleaded that he had no intention of carrying out attacks and was just trying to shock people. Autism diagnosed. Sentenced aged 18.

He later bragged about his role while in custody. Banaz's body was placed in a suitcase and buried in a garden in Handsworth, Birmingham.

He also conspired to kidnap her boyfriend and helped pervert the course of justice. Fled to Iraq after the murder and was extradited in June 2009.

On 31 March 1970, Ronald Jebson lured 11-year-old Susan Muriel Blatchford and 12-year-old Gary John Hanlon into his Standard Ten vehicle near their homes in Enfield, north London. He plied them with alcohol and cannabis, drove them to a copse on the outskirts of Epping Forest in Sewardstone, Essex, where he had constructed a hide. There, he sexually assaulted and strangled both children before redressing their bodies, covering them with branches, and leaving the scene.
Pleaded guilty to both murders before Judge David Stokes. Sentenced concurrently with existing life sentence. Branded a 'wicked and perverted' individual by the judge.
Russell Bishop

Russell Bishop, a 20-year-old local roofer, murdered two nine-year-old best friends, Nicola Fellows and Karen Hadaway, on 9 October 1986 in Wild Park, Moulsecoomb, Brighton, East Sussex. The girls had gone to play after school and were strangled and sexually assaulted. Their bodies were found hidden in a makeshift den the next day. Bishop joined the search and was initially acquitted in 1987 due to police and forensic failures but convicted in a retrial after DNA evidence from 1986 samples matched him one billion-to-one.
Pleaded not guilty. Previously acquitted in 1987 at Lewes Crown Court but retried following new DNA evidence linking him to a sweatshirt and a victim's forearm. Judge noted the case relied on re-evaluated scientific evidence using modern DNA techniques.

Emails and social media posts from his family revealed he went to Syria to 'fight for Jihad'. He was arrested by Met Police counter terrorism officers at Heathrow Airport on 23 May 2024 after returning from Turkey. Undercover officers captured conversations where he admitted supporting Nusra and expressed desire for martyrdom.
Convicted after a two-week trial under section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
Jade Darrell Braithwaite

Anas Abdalla, aged 26 of Fox Hollies Road, Acocks Green, was arrested at the Port of Dover in Kent at 7.45am on April 3, 2015, while trying to smuggle himself out of the country in the back of a lorry to travel to Syria to join Islamic State fighters. He travelled to London in a taxi, met up with the lorry driver in a lay-by, and hid in the lorry with rucksacks containing outdoor equipment. Searches at his home revealed extremist material and online searches related to the plan.
Found guilty after a six-week trial.
Azhar Franklin Nazir

Azhar Franklin Nazir, brother of victim Samaira Nazir, participated in her murder on 23 April 2005 in Southall, London, by holding her down and stabbing her multiple times during a prolonged and frenzied attack over her refusal of an arranged marriage and relationship with Salman Mohammed. He dragged her back into the house when she tried to escape. Joint enterprise prosecution.

Gabriel Rasmus, aged 29 from Chain Walk, Lozells, was arrested at the Port of Dover in Kent at 7.45am on April 3, 2015, while trying to smuggle himself out of the country in the back of a lorry to travel to Syria to join Islamic State fighters, alongside Anas Abdalla. He had recently purchased outdoor equipment including walking boots, night scope telescope, compass, head torch, route planner, vitamins, and thermal drink flask. The plan was to travel through Europe via Albania or Bulgaria to Greece, Turkey, and into Syria. Searches revealed extremist material.
Pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing.
