Zakir Hussain, 30, posted a series of messages on X account @lewiswarren911 between November 2023 and January 2024 celebrating the October 7, 2023 Hamas-led attack on Israel that killed about 1,200 people and took over 250 hostages. He also posted statements in support of proscribed terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah, and numerous antisemitic comments including praise for Adolf Hitler.
Pleaded guilty to all charges on the first day of his trial. Was serving a suspended prison sentence for previous malicious communications offences at the time of arrest.

On 10 May 2008, in the Three Cooks Bakery on Burnt Ash Hill, south London, Jake Fahri entered the shop and began an altercation with Jimmy Mizen after making threats. Fahri hit Mizen with plastic bottles, they traded punches, then Fahri re-entered with a metal sign and threw a 12-inch hot glass dish at Mizen. The dish shattered on Mizen's chin, and a glass shard pierced his neck, severing the carotid artery and jugular veins, causing fatal blood loss.
Admitted throwing the glass dish but denied murder. Had prior convictions for robbery, violence, assault, and burglary. Trial before Mr Justice Calvert-Smith.

James Danby, 27, beat and kicked his neighbour Luke Harwood, 18, following a false rape accusation. He took Luke to a field in Broadmead Road, Woodford Green, where he and Tony O’Toole jumped on his head until it popped. Danby dumped the body in a stream, bragged about the killing, and planned to dismember it to prevent identification. He was arrested en route to the body with weapons.
Refused to leave his cell for the sentencing hearing. Judge Paul Worsley said: 'James Danby is a controlling, manipulative and dangerous individual who manipulated others in the dock to support him in these dreadful events. He has shown no sign of remorse but only contempt for these proceedings.'
Jazz Reid

Jazz Reid, 33, disguised as a Deliveroo rider with backpack, takeaway box, and e-bike, carried out three shootings. On October 9, 2024, he fired two shots inside a Notting Hill flat, seriously wounding 27-year-old Ameile Buncombe. A second attack involved four shots at a North London address linked to the same victim with no injuries. On November 24, 2024, after a trampoline park birthday party, he fired 11 shots at a family in Ladbroke Grove, hitting an eight-year-old girl twice in the buttocks and foot, and her father five times in the back, chest, abdomen, and pelvis. Both survived. Prosecutors described the shootings as precision hits indicative of contract killings.
Judge Sarah Whitehouse KC described the devastating impact on the family and noted no sentence could remediate their suffering. Possible links to drug wars or money disputes.

Jordan Worrie rode past the victim on a moped, got off, made slashing movements, and chased him into the walkway. Two others followed armed with knives. The group fled in the same moped and car. CCTV and phone data linked them. Victim pronounced dead next morning from stab wounds to lower legs.

They subjected him to a brutal knife attack, stabbing him in the neck and leaving him for dead in thick grass near his bicycle. Donnelly was a runner for a local drug-dealing business. They cycled to the scene armed with two knives. After the attack, Cowley went to his home with Keith Preddie.

Kenneth Regan, along with William Horncy and Peter Rees, kidnapped and murdered Amarjit Chohan, his wife Nancy, their two infant sons Devinder and Ravinder, and Nancy's mother Charanjit Kaur in February 2003 in London, England. The motive was financial, to take over Chohan's freight company CIBA Freight for use as a front for importing drugs. The family was bound, gagged, drugged, and forced to sign over the company. Bodies were buried in a field near Stoodleigh, Devon, before being exhumed and dumped in the sea off Poole, Dorset.
Convicted of five murders. Judge Stephen Mitchell remarked: 'Your crimes are uniquely terrible... the cold-blooded murders of an eight-week-old baby and an 18-month-old toddler, not to mention the murder of their mother, father and grandmother, provide a chilling insight into the utterly perverted standards by which you have lived your lives... your characters are as despicable as your crimes. Each of you is a practiced, resourceful and manipulative liar'.
Learco Chindamo

On 8 December 1995, 15-year-old Learco Chindamo, leader of the Wo Shing Wo gang (mainly Filipino pupils aspiring to be like Triads), took twelve gang members to St George's Catholic School in Maida Vale, London, to 'punish' 13-year-old pupil William Njoh over a quarrel with a Filipino pupil. Chindamo punched headmaster Philip Lawrence, who intervened to protect the boy, and stabbed him in the chest with a knife. Lawrence died in hospital that evening.
Convicted of murder at age 15 after claiming mistaken identity; jury unanimously rejected his defence. Trial judge recommended minimum of 12 years be served. Appeal dismissed on 10 October 1997.
Lee Peacock

Lee Peacock compiled a list of up to four or five drug dealers to be assassinated or executed in north London. They had 'cuckooed' the flat where his partner lived and cared for a disabled male. When his partner protested, he slit her throat. He then went to complete his undertaking, met one dealer who was with her granddaughter and decided not to kill her, but entered the flat she shared with another male and slit the throat of the man who was not a dealer. That man was killed as he tried to escape from his locked flat. Peacock described him as 'unlucky'. He left detailed letters and notes describing his rationale for the murders. He was arrested and in interview gave a detailed description of what he did, telling officers he had slit their throats to save them from pain.

Gary Ternent, 59, and his son Bobby Ternent arranged to meet their friend John Avers, 47, on the evening of 13 September 2020 in Dagenham, before driving him to a quiet supermarket car park in Whalebone Lane South where they beat him and deliberately ran him over four times with a silver BMW X6, leaving him for dead. Gary held John down while Bobby drove the car over him multiple times. They then set fire to the car and fled.

Geoffrey Downs stabbed Michael Boyle from Galashiels, Scotland, at the Sir Robert Peel Public House in Langdale Close, SE17, on 25 February. Boyle was found with a stab wound to his chest, rushed to hospital by the London Ambulance Service, and died on 10 March from multiple organ failure caused by the wound.

Phone data implicated Riaz in location selection; group used stolen vehicles, Riaz received petrol cans, was arrested in a getaway car with petrol can linked to Khan.

Iki Mohammed Ali, of Maud Gardens, Barking, was one of three acquaintances of Warrick Carson convicted of the murder of 23-year-old Abdulrahman Nassor Juma on the night of 17 May 2018 near his home on Harts Lane in Barking. The planned and co-ordinated attack involved chasing the victim barefoot down Crows Road and stabbing him 18 times with Rambo-style knives after he was attacked from a white BMW.

Isa Giga, from Hounslow, west London, travelled from London to Istanbul then to Adana airport in southern Turkey in 2015, crossing into Syria to join Jaysh Al Fath, a violent alliance that includes an Al-Qaeda linked faction. Emails and social media posts from his family revealed he went to Syria to 'fight for Jihad'. He was arrested by Met Police counter terrorism officers at Heathrow Airport on 23 May 2024 after returning from Turkey. Undercover officers captured conversations where he admitted supporting Nusra and expressed desire for martyrdom.
Convicted after a two-week trial under section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
Isaac Idris

Isaac Idris, formally known as Mustakim Jaman, of Hudson Road, Portsmouth, a convicted terrorist, failed to notify police of financial information, a phone number and email addresses in contravention of the conditions of his Part 4 Terrorist Notification Order under Section 54 of the Counter Terrorism Act 2008.
Pleaded guilty to five breaches of a Part 4 Terrorist Notification Order at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 10 August and six further breaches on 1 October. Will remain on licence for a year following release. Investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing South East, supported by Hampshire Constabulary.

On 29 June 2008 in Islington, London, Jade Darrell Braithwaite, along with Michael Alleyne and Juress Kika, jointly attacked and stabbed 16-year-old Ben Kinsella to death following an altercation at Shillibeers Brasserie Bar. Kinsella received 11 stab wounds to the chest and back in a five-second attack, including wounds to his lungs, heart, and pulmonary artery.
Member of Market Massiv' street gang. Prior reprimand for cannabis possession and conviction for attempted theft. Pleaded not guilty. Judge described the attack as 'brutal, cowardly and totally unjustified'.

Over twice the legal alcohol limit, he fled police at speeds over 100mph, performed an illegal U-turn, ran a red light, ignored passengers' pleas to stop, lost control at approximately 70mph in a 30mph zone, hit kerbs, struck a tree, flipped the car and it burst into flames in Carshalton in the early hours of Christmas Day 2021.
Pleaded guilty to causing Lillie Clack’s death by dangerous driving, three counts of causing serious injury, failing to stop when directed and driving above the alcohol limit.

No safety equipment such as hard hats or protective boots was provided, only a sledgehammer and pneumatic drill. Holtom instructed Adam to prop up the leaning wall from the neighbour's garden instead of intervening himself.
Pleaded guilty to manslaughter by gross negligence and running a company while disqualified from being a director. Judge Christopher Moss stated Holtom bore the lion’s share of the blame and adopted a cavalier and irresponsible attitude to safety.

Sentenced by The Honourable Mrs Justice Cheema-Grubb QC, who described the offences as an astonishing breach of trust with no regard for the dignity of the dead and no evidence of genuine remorse.

They took his mobile phone and Oyster card. Earlier that evening, they had robbed chef Kurshid Ali at the same station.
Convicted of murder. Admitted robbery but denied murder, claiming Carty stabbed Pryce in a 'robbery gone bad'. Judge considered both defendants equally guilty. Minimum term increased from 17 years to 20 years on appeal by Attorney General.

Dihan Rahman, a 19-year-old from Southhall, downloaded guides on how to build bombs as well as content related to various terrorist ideologies, including extreme right-wing and Islamist material, found on his mobile phone, computer, and encrypted hard drive. Between February and June 2024, he stalked two teenage girls, bombarding one with social media messages after she rejected him, posting images of the school prom venue and a photograph of a German Nazi soldier holding a gun, and harassing another girl similarly. He also made malicious complaints about a female teacher and posted details of the girls and teacher online suggesting a conspiracy. Arrested in November 2024 following investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing London.
Pleaded guilty on the second day of his trial to three counts of possession of indecent images contrary to S160 Criminal Justice Act 1988, three counts of stalking contrary to Section 4a Protection from Harassment Act 1997, and three charges of possession of documents of a kind likely to be useful to a person committing or preparing an act of terrorism contrary to section 58 of the Terrorism Act 2000. Must serve a minimum of two thirds of the sentence in custody.

Initially sentenced to death for murder by Lord Chief Baron Sir Archibald Macdonald; sentence commuted by the King. Jury initially returned verdict of manslaughter but was directed to find guilty of murder.
