1 year 10 months imprisonment
Craig Anthony Anderson, 38, of no fixed address, committed a series of sexual offences against women on the railway network in London and Surrey between June and October 2025. On 14 June 2025 at Bank Underground Station, he followed a young woman up stairs, made unwanted sexual comments, and sexually assaulted her after she asked him to leave, laughing as he walked away. On 26 June 2025, he exchanged numbers with a woman on a train at Guildford, then harassed her by text with sexual messages and images; on 15 July 2025, after she refused to meet, he followed her from Epsom station onto a train to Victoria, verbally abused her and tried to snatch her belongings, causing her to hide in toilets at Canary Wharf. On 2 August 2025, near Liverpool Street station, he tapped a woman's arm, demanded her social media details, and sexually assaulted her when she refused. On 29 August 2025, at Westminster Underground station, he asked a woman for directions, followed her up an escalator, sexually assaulted her and laughed. On 6 October 2025, at Purley railway station, he engaged a woman in conversation about directions, boarded the same train, asked personal questions, and sexually assaulted her when she threatened to report him, blocking her path until she escaped at Redhill. British Transport Police identified him from CCTV; victims picked him out in an ID parade. He was arrested at the Passport Office while claiming he intended to leave the UK. He made derogatory comments about the victims and denied presence despite CCTV evidence. Detective Constable Libby Wildego called him 'a dangerous predator who preyed on women for his own sexual gratification', noting he smirked during questioning and left court before his sentencing. He was sentenced on 23 March 2026 at the Old Bailey to one year and ten months in prison.
Convicted at trial in January 2026 of four counts of sexual assault and one count of stalking. Also given a 10-year Sexual Harm Prevention Order and two restraining orders. Described by police as a 'dangerous predator' who showed no remorse.
