8-month detention and training order
On 1 March 2024, the boy threw a 15kg heavy blue chair (described as a sofa or stool worth £500) 50ft off the second floor balcony of Westfield shopping centre in Stratford, east London, as part of a social media prank. The chair narrowly missed shoppers below in a busy area, landing where people normally walk. The video went viral online with the caption 'No way bro almost killed someone'. He ran away swearing after throwing it. There was a realistic risk of extremely serious or life-changing injury to innocent bystanders. No one was injured, but it caused unease among customers.
Admitted criminal damage and recklessly causing a public nuisance. Apologetic in interview, claimed intent to damage the chair and thought worst outcome was hospital treatment. Regularly engaged in pranks including throwing objects off bridges at trains.

Environmental health officers from Cannock Chase council carried out an early morning raid with Staffordshire police in October 2015.
Prosecuted under the Housing Act 2004 for contravening prohibition orders and an improvement notice.
