The profile was set up by vigilantes Guardians of the North and operated by his wife's hairdresser, who recognised him from a photo and contacted police when he was in London on business.

He also posted public abusive content on Instagram calling her names, accusing her of affairs, and sharing a court letter with personal details. Additionally, he posted a video threatening an acid attack on her at work and to print leaflets if denied access to the children.
Pleaded guilty to disclosing a private sexual picture and harassment. Has 34 previous convictions. Recorder Geraldine Kelly noted his anger over not seeing his children led to intimidating and humiliating behaviour.

Enraged, he turned around and deliberately drove at the group at about 33mph, striking a grandfather who suffered multiple broken bones and required a prosthetic shoulder. He narrowly missed others, including a woman with a one-year-old child.
Admitted causing serious injury by dangerous driving but found guilty of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and attempted wounding. Banned from driving for 12 and a half years and must pass an extended test. Judge accepted it was out of character and short-lived road rage.

Haval Omer, a 32-year-old pizza takeaway owner from Sunderland, targeted vulnerable women over a six-month period, luring them with offers of lifts before subjecting them to brutal sexual assaults. Operating in the Tyne and Wear area, he was investigated by Northumbria Police and tried at Newcastle Crown Court. The court heard details of his crimes, including three counts of rape among seven sexual offences. In a particularly callous incident in November 2015, he spotted two women waiting for an ambulance after taking drugs, offered them a lift to the hospital but drove them to his home in Eden Vale, Sunderland. He released one woman but took the other inside and raped her. Police later found the victim unconscious in his house. Omer denied all charges but was found guilty on every count by the jury.
Pleaded not guilty but found guilty on all counts. Additional eight years extended licence conditions upon release. Northumbria Police described him as 'twisted, sick and dangerous'.

He also hit her foot with the machete in its sheath and destroyed her phone.

Giorgos Lagji, 38, sexually abused a schoolgirl starting from when she was eight years old in Newcastle upon Tyne. The abuse spanned over six years and involved multiple instances of rape, attempted rape, sexual assault, and sexual activity with a child. He also made indecent images of a child. The victim reported the abuse in 2022, leading to an investigation by Northumbria Police. Lagji was arrested and charged in December 2022, and despite denying the allegations, a jury at Newcastle Crown Court convicted him on all 28 counts in May 2023. In a separate attack, he grabbed a 14-year-old's face and tried to kiss her on the lips. After arrest, he messaged his ex-wife within half an hour trying to get her to cover for him; she reported it to police. The victims reported after reading about his arrest in a paedophile hunter sting operation.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault and perverting the course of justice. Previous conviction from 2020 for attempted sexual communication with a child. Ordered to sign the sex offenders register and subject to a sexual harm prevention order, both for ten years.

On November 20, 2025, Donna English attacked a woman she had previously been friends with. After a dispute about money, the victim went to the rear of English's home. English armed herself with a corrosive liquid, believed to be ammonia, and sprayed it on the victim's face and back, then followed her to another street and sprayed it directly into her eyes, saying 'I'll get it in your f****** eyes'. The attack left the victim blind in one eye and with permanently limited blurry vision in the other, unable to care for herself or her children. English then sent bogus and disingenuous messages to falsely claim the victim was the aggressor.
Found guilty after trial of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. She continues to deny the offence and has shown no remorse or empathy. Judge Tom Moran noted premeditation and that she armed herself with the liquid, later spraying it directly into the victim's eyes while threatening her. Background of heroin misuse and five former partners died.
Elliot Robinson

Elliot Robinson, 22, of Walworth Avenue, South Shields, raped two teenage victims in separate attacks. The first victim repeatedly said 'no, no, no' and was left in tears. The second was so drunk she was unable to walk unaided. Between the offences, Robinson (then 16) had been cautioned by police for raping a child under 13 and causing a child under 13 to engage in sexual activity. He admitted the two rapes at Newcastle Crown Court.

The pair were caught with up to £24,000 worth of illegal substances and more than £12,500 in cash. Drugs were found in his bedroom during a police raid on the home in Washington. Harrison entered guilty pleas in July 2024.

Metro services were held for 12 minutes, causing a total delay of 90 minutes. Tyas pleaded guilty to possessing an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Jonathan Sweet, of Rowley Street, Blyth, Northumberland, had hundreds of indecent images and videos of children aged between six months and 13 years on his mobile phone. Police seized the phone at his place of work on October 21, 2021, after receiving information. Examination found 162 category A pictures and 69 category A movies, 103 category B pictures and 44 category B movies, and 272 category C pictures and 13 category C movies. Sweet told probation he did not download the images but no one else had access to his phone. Defence said images were in an inaccessible place, possibly deleted or created by software.
Pleaded guilty to three offences of making indecent images of children. No previous convictions. Required to complete a sex offenders treatment programme. Must sign the sex offenders register for ten years and subject to a sexual harm prevention order. Judge Stephen Earl commented that the children in the images 'were and continue to be victimised while those images remain and people are watching them'.

Jonathon Blacklock, following a brief relationship with the victim in 2020 that ended in September, embarked on a two-month stalking campaign starting soon after. He sprayed offensive graffiti calling her a 's**t' and 's**g' around Longframlington village and near her home, sent abusive texts and voicemails calling her a 'f****g slag', left nasty notes in her garden and on her partner's doorstep referencing their sexual activity, left female underwear at her partner's address, dumped rubbish at her driveway with a brick saying 'trash for trash', slashed her car tyres and put grass up its exhaust. He showed intimate sexual photos of her to her boss and partner. In January 2021, he caused £337.75 damage to her partner's van and punctured tyres on nine other unrelated vehicles causing total £750 damage. His actions left the victim suicidal, changing her work route, and contemplating leaving her job and moving house.
Pleaded guilty to stalking, two counts of disclosing private sexual photographs and 12 counts of criminal damage. Subject to a two-month curfew between 9pm and 6am and a restraining order banning contact with the victim or her partner. Eight prior offences; mental health issues at the time but has sought help since.

Joseph James Stewart, 56, of Burnopfield, County Durham, sexually abused two young girls over a period spanning the early 2000s and after 2010. Both victims were children at the time of the attacks and only came forward as adults. Northumbria Police investigated and arrested Stewart. He was charged with five counts of indecent assault, one count of indecency with a child, one count of rape, one count of attempted rape, and one count of sexual activity with a child. He denied the offences but was found guilty on all counts by a jury at Newcastle Crown Court in July. He was sentenced to 21 years imprisonment and designated an offender of particular concern.

The victims ran upstairs and locked themselves in a bedroom as Hardy moved through the house. He tried the bedroom door before leaving with another man, stealing £300 from the children’s bedrooms. The mother suffered distress, difficulty breathing and speech, and her son had nightmares; they thought Hardy was carrying a knife. He was on a deferred sentence for attempted burglary, common assault and theft, which included stealing a motorbike and punching its owner.
Pleaded guilty to burglary. Recorder Paul Reid regretted deferring sentence and said Hardy wasted the chance. 70 previous convictions, including several for burglary.

Leon Watson, 35, from Sunderland, joined an anti-immigration protest on 2 August 2024 that turned violent. He threw missiles at police, handed items to others to throw, blocked a taxi and shouted at the driver while encouraging others to attack the car. Up to 1,000 people were involved in the disorder which included attacks on Asian-owned businesses, looting, petrol bombs, damage to a mosque, seven police cars and a police office destroyed by arson. Watson admitted riot.

Liam James, 24, of Prior Road, Tweedmouth, struck 21-year-old Jack Forster with his car on Marygate in Berwick town centre in the early hours of New Year’s Day as Forster walked home from a night out. James, who was several times over the alcohol limit, drove away from the scene after the collision, leaving the victim in the road. Forster suffered severe head injuries requiring surgery to remove parts of his skull and is now registered disabled. James had texted that he was “black out drunk and drove home” after the incident.
Pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Also disqualified from driving for four years and three months. Victim left disabled after hit-and-run.

Liam Williamson, of Langley Avenue, Blyth, Northumberland, contacted a profile called Laurie on the Skout dating app in May 2019, who told him she was 14. He engaged in sexual chat, moved to WhatsApp, suggested she visit his house, sent bus times, acknowledged her age but continued, asked for explicit photos, and arranged to meet at McDonald's in Blyth. The profile was operated by vigilante group Guardians of the North, who confronted him and called police. He was arrested and admitted he would not have touched her unless she wanted.
No previous convictions. Subject to sex offender registration and a sexual harm prevention order for ten years. Defendant has additional learning needs, was vulnerable, recently unemployed and isolated.
