David Davies, 57, of Queens Road, Cirencester, walked into The Marlborough Arms pub on Sheep Street at around 8.30pm on October 13, 2019, with a Samurai sword strapped to his back. He showed the sword to a man in the pub, who warned him about police trouble. Davies responded 'f*** the police' and was arrested. He told police his girlfriend did not like the sword so he took it to the pub to try to sell it. Customers were petrified by the incident.
Placed on a community order for a year and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs. Pleaded guilty. Had been drinking at the time and did not brandish the sword.

On September 7, 2019, Matthew Rose, 30, of Fosseway Avenue, Moreton-in-Marsh, drove his 1962 Fordson vintage tractor home from a steam engine show in Northleach, Gloucestershire, after consuming alcohol. While traveling at about 10 mph, a pin on the front axle snapped, causing him to lose control and crash into a dry-stone wall around a house in Eastington Road, Northleach, causing severe damage. He had 62 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Police breathalysed and arrested him upon his return to the showground.
Pleaded not guilty but convicted. Prior conviction for dangerous driving in 2013 resulting in a 3-year ban. Offered compensation to homeowner which was declined.

She went to his driveway wielding a ball-hammer, smashed three windows and dented the roof of Clifford's VW Passat taxi, and damaged two windows and a panel on Nigel Crewe's taxi. She wrestled with Clifford who tried to take the hammer from her.
Pleaded guilty to two charges of criminal damage; convicted after trial of possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. Ordered to pay £260 compensation to each victim and made subject of a 12-month restraining order not to contact John Clifford. Suffered from mental health problems including PTSD.

On March 27, 2018, at approximately 8.45am, Richard Allison, driving a white BMW, had a momentary lapse in concentration and ploughed into the back of a stationary Fiat Punto driven by Steven Smart on the A417 approaching a roundabout at Birdlip in the Cotswolds. Steven Smart, aged 66 from South Cerney, suffered multiple chest and spine injuries, was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, and died on April 24, 2018. Allison tested negative for drink and drugs.
Pleaded guilty. Banned from driving for a year and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs. Judge praised the victim's family for their compassionate plea for mercy, noting it was very rare.

On July 8, wearing only boxer shorts, he screamed 'get off my land', threatened to use a pitchfork, struck both men with a baseball bat, and repeatedly pushed Roger Jones.
Pleaded self-defense, claiming he was protecting land from trespassers despite not owning the deeds. Represented himself in court. They were detained by Gloucester’s City Protection Officers. Davies was bullied by Woodwart and intended to swap items for drugs and food. This was her first remorseful offense as she was due to start a drug rehab programme the next day. She was living with drug users at the time but has since moved into a new home with a man of good character.
Admitted theft. Ordered to pay £220. Suffered severe health issues from Class A drug abuse including krokodil, two heart attacks, stroke, Hepatitis C, deep vein thrombosis, scarred lungs, enlarged spleen, and MRSA. Wants to move forward with rehabilitation.

Barry Molyneux, a 60-year-old from Upper Road in Pillowell, Lydney, drove his Nissan X-Trail while drunk on Lower Road, Yorkley, at 11.50pm on November 9, 2018. He crashed into a parked black Ford Fiesta, pushing it off the road, and then ended up stuck in a verge. A resident heard the crash, smelled alcohol on Molyneux, and took him inside. Police found him with 52 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath, exceeding the legal limit of 35. Both vehicles sustained front-end damage.
First time in court, extremely remorseful. Had a few pints after work and hadn't eaten for some time, misjudged the amount he had to drink. Judge noted it was a pretty nasty collision but no one was hurt by good luck.

Police were called at 5.30pm after complaints and found him abusive, shouting and swearing in a busy residential area. He was warned but continued, then yelled 'I can’t understand what you are f****** saying – f****** jock'. He claimed he was spat at twice by some girl, who claimed he threatened her, but he denied it.
Admitted drunk and disorderly behaviour. Chairman of the magistrates Natalie Hunt observed the fine meant Lynch could reflect on 'a bit of an expensive night out'. Prior conviction for battery last year.

Daniel Holliday, 31, of Perry Hill in Tewkesbury, committed criminal damage at his pregnant girlfriend's home on October 31, 2017, by smashing a plate and throwing a knife after an argument about dinner. Later that evening, he punched Natalie Clark, who was 10 weeks pregnant, in the stomach, causing her to bleed heavily and fear for the baby's life; the baby, Ivy Rose, was unharmed. On November 22, 2017, he strangled her during another argument, pinning her down and leaving severe bruises on her chest, neck, and arms; she believed she was going to die. On January 12, 2018, he breached a restraining order by verbally abusing her outside a salon in Cheltenham High Street.
Found guilty of two assaults, criminal damage, and breaching a restraining order. Ordered to pay £460 to the court and adhere to a five-year restraining order.

Grant Hodges, 26, stole a wide range of drugs including morphine from Charlton Kings Care Home in Moorend Road, Cheltenham, where he worked as a health care assistant, between July 31, 2017, and January 3, 2018. He lived and worked at the site, earning £19,200 per year. The theft was alleged in a single incident immediately prior to the termination of his employment on January 3, 2018. The care home contacted the police upon becoming aware of the allegations.

Leslie Cook, 44, a jobless resident of Malvern Street, Cheltenham, was arrested on April 4, 2017, during a police crackdown on 'county lines' drug networks. Officers saw him hanging around outside the former ACE Bingo Hall in lower High Street, Cheltenham, making an exchange with a male. Upon search, two wraps containing 0.83g of cocaine were found on him. He bought the drugs from a Cheltenham county lines network, where dealers from big cities send young people to run Class A drug operations in Gloucestershire. Other figures in the operation have since been arrested. Cook is a known drug user.
Admitted cocaine possession. Has 208 previous convictions. Health problems due to past drug use but getting to the right place. District Judge Joti Bopa-Rai dealt with it by way of financial penalty due to the age of the offence. Must also pay £30 victim surcharge and £85 prosecution costs.

On October 5, 2018, Derek Kingscote, aged 50, from Dock Road, crashed his Renault Clio into a parked Ford Focus in The Docks, Sharpness, while driving with 64 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath (almost double the legal limit of 35). The impact shunted the Ford Focus into another vehicle, both owned by Mr Cornwall, causing severe damage including to a disabled-friendly Renault Kangoo used to transport Mr Cornwall's disabled mother-in-law. Kingscote attempted to drive away but was prevented by Mr Cornwall, who took his keys and called police. He was arrested at the scene.

Appearing drunk, he shouted profanities at staff, refused to leave, spat on the manager's back, knocked a phone from the assistant manager's hand, and attempted to tackle him, requiring a customer to intervene. Later that evening, police encountered him nearby; he continued swearing, punched a cottage window, headbutted a wall, and struggled during arrest after mixing alcohol with prescription painkillers.
