Sherrie Walters, 42, had been at a party in north London and was seen with a firearm in her bag. Officers were called to her home in Orchard Croft, Harlow on 27 December 2021. A search found a revolver and two bullets. She was arrested and charged following an investigation by Harlow CID.

Found guilty by jurors after denying possession of the firearm and ammunition. Refused to tell police who gave her the gun to look after.

Ronnie Bromley

In the early hours of 24 November 2018, Ronnie Bromley and Tevin Christy were involved in a violent altercation in Market Square, Harlow. CCTV footage showed them clashing with a group of teenagers in a narrow alley, during which Bromley and Christy passed a knife between them. Bromley sustained a stab wound to his buttock and later presented at hospital. He was arrested that day.

Claimed self-defence but found guilty. Described by police as one of the aggressors in the fight.

Attempted sexual activity with a child *

Roland James Ford, 51, from Wedgewood Drive in Harlow, Essex, attempted to meet a 15-year-old boy for sexual activity after initiating contact via the gay dating app Grindr. On July 20, 2017, he contacted a fake profile set up by an investigator specialising in protecting children from sexual exploitation. Despite being told the profile was of a 15-year-old, he arranged to meet near The Stow shopping centre in Harlow, where he was arrested by undercover officers.

Attempted to meet a 15-year-old boy for sexual activity. Arrested in a police sting operation. Judge Patricia Lynch QC noted risk of serious harm to young boys. Sentence comprised three years' imprisonment extended by two years on licence.

Sanjoy Rajput

Breach of Sexual Harm Prevention Order *

Sanjoy Rajput, a 53-year-old registered sex offender from Harebell Drive, Witham, Essex, was subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order that strictly restricted his use of internet-enabled devices. On 23 September 2020, officers from the Management of Sexual Offenders and Violent Offenders team visited his home and discovered an unauthorised mobile phone, breaching the order. He had also obtained a new credit card without informing authorities. He was charged with five counts of failing to comply with notification requirements, including using an alias to groom young females online. Rajput pleaded guilty to all offences on 22 October 2020 and was sentenced on 27 November 2020 at Chelmsford Crown Court.

Pleaded guilty at Chelmsford Crown Court on 22 October 2020. Subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order following prior convictions.
