In the early hours of 24 November 2018, Tevin Christy and Ronnie Bromley were involved in a violent altercation in Market Square, Harlow. CCTV footage showed them clashing with a group of teenagers in a narrow alley, during which Bromley and Christy passed a knife between them. Christy was arrested on 2 February the following year.

Claimed self-defence but found guilty. Described by police as one of the aggressors in the fight.

Troy Gayle, 23, of Boyd Grove, Birmingham, was found guilty of a burglary in Fernhill Heath, Worcester in July 2016. This was a brazen, targeted burglary in the middle of the day but the offenders were arrested within half an hour thanks to the swift actions of a neighbour.

Found guilty after a five-day trial.

Nine ATM offences admitted in locations such as Broxbourne, Corringham, West Kingsdown, South Ockendon, Rainham, Gravesend, Epsom, Hutton, Loughton, Pilgrims Hatch and Redbourn.

Pleaded guilty. Aged 42, of Fern Hill Lane, Harlow.

On the evening of 1 August 2016, Wayne Martin Brookes, 33, of Hathaway Close, Worcester, broke into a house on Somers’ Road, Worcester, belonging to a woman with whom he had an altercation earlier that evening, and started a fire. A neighbour raised the alarm after hearing him enter and seeing smoke.

Found guilty by unanimous jury verdict of arson after pleading not guilty. Also sentenced to 6 months imprisonment for breach of a restraining order, to run concurrently.

Wayne Mixture

Illegal waste disposal and treatment *

Wayne Mixture, 52, ran a waste site at Damases Lane in Boreham between August 2017 and December 2020, where he deposited, stored, burned and treated large quantities of commercial, household, plastics, paper, fabric, construction and demolition waste without an environmental permit. Despite numerous Environment Agency warnings and visits, he failed to clear the site, continued illegal bonfires and did not provide required waste transfer notes.

Miss Recorder Frost noted deliberate and wilful failure to comply with notices, no intention of complying, and defiance. Also issued a Remediation Order to clear waste by 31 March 2024.
