Mullen attacked from behind by putting a wire, similar to a charging cable, around the victim's neck, which the victim pulled away. Mullen stole the victim's mobile phone, bank cards, Metro and bus pass, Tesco Clubcard, tobacco, house keys, and a card holder with family pictures and a prayer card. He demanded and received the PIN number, using a stolen card three times the next day. Items were later returned. The victim suffered an abrasion to the head but no serious injuries.
