He also downloaded 411 indecent photos of children, including 147 of the most serious kind involving children as young as two, attempted to engage in sexual communication with a 14-year-old girl, and distributed 21 indecent images. Offending began in 2014 following retirement, leading to loss of marriage and family.
Pleaded guilty. Has previous convictions for similar offences. Judge noted high risk of causing serious harm. Will serve two thirds before possible release by Parole Board. Subject to Sexual Harm Prevention Order. Barrister mentioned addiction, isolation, loneliness post-retirement, shame, and remorse.

The messages were discovered on the girl's phone, leading to his arrest. He initially lied to police about his interest in the girl and attempted to delete his chat history. He also had five Category A images of a child on his phone.

Ethan Fenwick, a 19-year-old student at Petroc College, stalked two female staff members, causing them serious alarm and distress. Starting in July 2024, he repeatedly asked one victim out inappropriately, secretly photographed her, and sent alarming social media friend requests with biographies expressing intent to kidnap and sexually assault the victims. He created fake Instagram accounts linked to his IP address and used AI to generate deepfake sexual images and chat versions of the victims using covertly captured photos, videos, and audio. Over a thousand covert images of students and staff aged 16-18 were found on his devices, many digitally altered with pornographic content. His behaviour included obsessive proximity, misogynistic comments, and prior obsessions leading to removal from another school and youth centre. One victim left her job due to fear.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of stalking involving serious alarm or distress. Lifetime restraining orders for the two victims and a sexual harm prevention order granted.

Scott explained his struggles with addiction since age 18, mental health problems, and frustration after being released from custody in October and left homeless upon completion of his licence in approved premises in Portsmouth. He expressed that he had tried to get help but felt unsupported, leading to his return to the streets.
Pleaded guilty to breach of a restraining order, being drunk and disorderly, and two counts of assault on a police officer. Has 53 previous convictions out of 109 offences. Significant mental health problems and addiction issues mentioned. After sentencing, spat at the dock and made comments about the court's priorities.

In February 2023, Ben Owen, trading as BPS and ‘Ben the Plumber’, attended a property on Barton Hill, Torquay, where he removed an old boiler and installed a new one. The installation was faulty, leading to a gas leak classified as 'immediately dangerous'. The gas supply was capped to prevent an explosion, putting the homeowners and their four young children at risk. Further defects were found by Gas Safe Register officers and a third company employed to rectify the faults. An HSE investigation confirmed Owen was not registered to perform gas work since October 2021.
Pleaded guilty to contravening Sections 3(3), 26(1) and 27(1) of the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998. Previously registered with Gas Safe but membership lapsed in October 2021.

Damien Weston, a 43-year-old builder from Newton Abbot and dad-of-three, hid a knife up his sleeve and confronted Ricky Campbell outside his home in Sandringham Road, Newton Abbot, one day in February 2025. Weston made comments about Mr Campbell's relationship with his wife before lunging and stabbing him in the neck. The victim thought he had been punched but realised he had been stabbed when he felt the blood and told a man he was with that he thought he was going to die. Weston tried to stop the men calling for an ambulance, snatching one phone from the other man at the scene. The victim was taken to hospital where the knife narrowly missed a major blood artery in his neck. Weston gave himself up to police a week later claiming self-defence and that he had punched the victim without seeing the knife.
Admitted wounding with intent and having a bladed article. Has 25 previous offences, mostly for dishonesty. Judge James Patrick noted he had a 'beef' with the victim over the relationship with his wife, used a highly dangerous weapon with an element of revenge, and was chillingly close to causing a grave injury.

Incidents occurred in Chagford and Exeter, including at the Ring O Bells pub and The Globe.

On October 1, 2025, he entered NatWest bank in Barnstaple with a woman attempting to withdraw money, shouted abuse at a staff member, tried to headbutt him, and refused to leave, forcing the bank to close. On December 2, 2025, at Texaco garage on Pilton Causeway, he was challenged for pocketing alcohol, leading to a tussle where he threw cans and glass bottles at the retreating staff member, hitting the victim on the head and causing him to lock himself in a back office.
Banned from Marks and Spencer, ordered to stay away from Co-op and Texaco garage on Pilton Causeway, not to get intoxicated in public or enter other banned shops. Given a 3-year criminal behaviour order. Pleaded guilty. Has ADHD, history of drug use, committed offences while drunk, previous convictions for similar offences. District Judge Stuart Smith noted it was a collection of offending and the petrol station attack was terrifying.

Kyle Daly, aged 33, from Friars Crescent, Northampton, began harassing his ex-partner after she threw him out in August 2024. He bombarded her with phone calls and social media messages on Snapchat, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram despite being blocked. He turned up drunk and uninvited at her home in South Molton in the middle of the night, causing her to flee. His aggressive behaviour included trying to pull the handbrake while a passenger in her car, pushing her down causing her to fall down stairs during an argument, following her in a car, and appearing in her bedroom at night where he flung verbal insults and stopped her from fleeing. She escaped and shouted for help, leading to police arrival. The victim suffered nightmares and anxiety about seeing him again.
Admitted stalking with fear and violence. Previous convictions for domestic violence. Poses a risk to partners. Will serve half in jail and half on licence. Restraining order for 6 years banning contact with victim. Allegations of strangulation denied and dropped.

Laura Lindsell failed to attend court, leading to a warrant for her arrest issued in September 2024. On the date of the incident, police entered her home in High Street, Crediton, after her 17-year-old daughter let them in. Found in her bedroom, she used her German Shepherd dog to shield herself from officers, resulting in the dog biting one on the arm. She escaped through a window and jumped through neighbouring gardens. Arrested five days later.
Admitted charge of escape. Judge Stephen Climie warned her not to take her dog to probation appointments or unpaid work. Lucky the injured officer did not want the dog put down.

Francesko Cela, 31, of Nadder Meadow in South Molton, was caught operating a cannabis farm at a residential area in Knapman View, Bow near Crediton. Police discovered 308 cannabis plants and growing equipment after detecting a strong smell of cannabis. Cela fled the property but was apprehended. He fly-tipped cultivation gear and plants in a river tributary. The potential yield of the crop was estimated between £83,000 to £250,000. The cultivation occurred on and around November 2025.
Admitted cultivating class B plants. Lawyer stated he had a lesser role as a feeder or waterer, for little financial gain, with some element of exploitation. Magistrates noted it was a large scale operation and a serious offence.

Man Marku, 23, arrived illegally in the UK by boat in 2024 seeking a better life but became involved with a drug supply gang. In January 2025, he crashed a drug-loaded car in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, where 37 wraps of cocaine worth £1,000 were found, along with two mobile phones. While on bail, he failed to appear at Gloucester Crown Court. On November 14, 2025, near Barnstaple, Devon, he was stopped driving a rented Dacia Sandero erratically while on a video call, without a licence or insurance. Police seized 43 ready-for-sale bags of cocaine from a cylindrical container on the passenger seat and £300 cash. He claimed a 'man in a pub' paid him £100 to drive the car without questions, but the judge dismissed this as nonsensical. Marku acted as a courier to pay off debts from illegal entry, collecting and delivering drugs for others. He intends to return to Albania.
Admitted drug supply and driving offences. Must serve 40 per cent of sentence in prison. Judge indicated likely deportation at end of sentence unless released early. Pleaded guilty. Expressed shame and remorse in letter.
