The woman ran to a group of people nearby, after which Jones fled the scene.

Mr Williams was thrown off the bike, struck a garden wall, and suffered multiple fractures, resulting in the amputation of his right leg below the knee, spinal surgery, and plates in his right arm. He required months of hospital treatment and has ongoing physical and psychological impacts including PTSD, phantom pain, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts.
Pleaded guilty at earliest opportunity. No previous convictions. Assessed as low risk of reoffending. Genuine remorse expressed. Judge noted it was a very short period of inattention, not deliberate or prolonged.

On the afternoon of 4 June 2022, Roger Peter Brenninkmeyer was driving his BMW at speeds up to 109mph on an unclassified road with blind bends at Pentreuchaf near Pwllheli. He lost control of the vehicle, left the road, and collided with a Ford Fusion driven by Droy Darroch-York from Nefyn, resulting in Droy's death at the scene. Brenninkmeyer was seriously injured in the incident and required hospital treatment.
Pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving. Also issued with an 11-year driving disqualification and an extended re-test. Sustained serious injuries in the crash and was hospitalised for several weeks.
David Roberts

On September 14, 2024, David Roberts, 36, of Y Wern in Wrexham, approached a delivery driver on Wynnstay Avenue while holding an axe and made threats to kill, causing the driver to flee and call the police. Roberts was smashing his own fence and appeared to be under the influence of drugs and alcohol. Police attempted to arrest him, but he resisted for 40 minutes, shouting from an upstairs window with the axe and a kitchen knife, and self-harming. He was tasered three times before being subdued and treated in hospital. He had a prior suspended sentence for criminal damage and assaulting an emergency worker from June 2024.
Pleaded guilty to affray and possession of an offensive weapon. Received 22 months for affray and 12 months for possession of a weapon, served concurrently, plus a consecutive 3 months for triggered suspended sentence. Will serve half on licence. Mental health issues and drug use contributed to the incident; showed remorse.
Graham Naylor
Arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered *

On April 13, 2024, Graham Naylor deliberately set fire to recycling boxes in front of Nadeem Ahmed's home on High Street, Bangor, while Ahmed was at a nearby mosque. The fire spread and caused damage to the house, costing £300 in repairs. CCTV footage captured Naylor starting the fire and later returning to throw water on the flames. No one was inside the property at the time. Naylor was arrested and made no comment during his police interview. The incident left Ahmed and his mother feeling scared, nervous, and permanently mentally scarred, with the mother now leaving the house less due to anxiety.
Pleaded guilty to arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered. Has 31 previous convictions for 54 offences. Judge noted childhood trauma and addiction issues, hoped for rehabilitation in prison.

On 25 March 2023, Iain Butterworth trespassed into the Deiniol Centre on Bangor High Street whilst it was closed, breaking the glass doors of an antique shop and stealing a large quantity of jewellery worth around £56,100.
Admitted to theft and criminal damage. Investigating Officer PC Stephanie Owen commented that Butterworth showed no regard for business owners and welcomed the custodial sentence.

On April 23, 2024, at about 7.45am, Martin Hughes, 38, of Ffordd Dulyn, Llandudno, was stopped by police on Rhos-on-Sea promenade for driving too closely to the car in front. Officers detected the smell of cannabis, discovered his driving licence had expired and he had no insurance. He failed a roadside drugs test, and a blood sample showed he was more than four times the legal limit for cannabis.
Pleaded guilty to drug-driving, driving without a licence and insurance. Was serving a suspended 2-year imprisonment sentence from September 2024 at Mold Crown Court for an unrelated offence. Judge Nicola Jones noted no crash, damage or injuries occurred and acknowledged his military service and progress with probation.

Michael Hanmer, 30, from Rhyd Menai, Anglesey, sent messages to a teenage girl aged 13-15 starting before April 23, 2024, asking for sexually explicit images including a picture of her in her bra and a video of her touching herself. He sent her an image of his penis and a video of himself masturbating, which disgusted the victim. He also discussed going on days out and then having a 'naughty time' involving cuddling and kissing. The victim rejected his requests and reported the messages to her school on April 23, 2024, leading to police involvement. Hanmer was arrested and initially denied involvement, claiming his phone was hacked, but later admitted the offences when shown evidence. The victim reported worsened school behaviour, stress, and feeling like it was a nightmare, though supported by family, school, and counselling.
Pleaded guilty to three charges. Psychological report noted mild intellectual disability, autistic traits, and mental health issues. Defence highlighted vulnerability in custody and risk of suicide. Judge took into account pre-sentence report.
Morgan Edwards

On March 2, 2024, Morgan Edwards, aged 18 at the time, drove at excessive speeds up to 130mph on the A55 and 85mph in a 20mph zone in Bangor, ignoring his friends' requests to slow down. His Volkswagen Golf, modified for increased performance, collided with a BMW emerging from a junction on Ffriddoedd Road and then a wall, hospitalizing friends Dilyn Bayley (broken foot bones, surgery, 5-day hospital stay) and Kieran Owen (complex facial fractures, 5cm forehead wound exposing skull, ongoing dizziness, headaches, missed school). Brian Maher was also in the car. Edwards fled the scene initially but was arrested shortly after. The crash resulted from his deliberate decision to ignore road rules.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. Banned from driving for 4 years and 7 months, must pass extended retest. Prior cautions for driving matters. Described as immature and impressionable, suffering from depression.
Karl Sturrs

He breached the suspended sentence by failing to attend a probation appointment without excuse on September 5.

Craig Berry

Craig Berry committed a series of violent offences against a 37-year-old female victim between October 2024 and March 2025, including assault, intentional strangulation, engaging in controlling or coercive behaviour, theft, and making threats to kill. Officers arrested Berry on 13 March 2025 after the victim reported a serious assault in Denbigh, during which she was bitten to the face and struck to the head. The victim subsequently made further disclosures of verbal and physical abuse by Berry.

Ricky Richardson
Assault and controlling and coercive behaviour *

Ricky Richardson assaulted his adult daughters Shanice and Yasmin over a period from April 2023 to August 2025, including seven counts of assault against Shanice such as slapping and punching her face, hitting her leg with a hammer, throwing a baby gate at her, and cutting her face with a knife. He engaged in controlling and coercive behaviour using threats of self-harm to manipulate them. He also made threats to kill Shanice's friend Ellie Condron in July 2025. Incidents involved drug use, foaming at the mouth, and police involvement. Shanice suffered various injuries including a cut to the eye requiring stitches and was deeply affected.
Pleaded guilty at earliest opportunity. Serial drug user, now clean. Mental health issues related to self-medication after friend's death. Will serve half on licence. Shocked by his own behaviour.
Robert Emlyn Hughes
Failing to prevent the causing of unnecessary suffering to an animal *

On September 5, 2024, sheep carcasses not properly disposed of and a lamb with open wounds were found in Hughes’ garden; the lamb was euthanised due to serious injuries. On September 6, dogs were found in his van, tied up with inadequate food, water, or veterinary care. Following an animal health inspector's visit on September 16, animals were removed from his care, several euthanised. On September 19, more animals seized, including sheep euthanised due to suffering; decomposing carcasses left accessible to other animals. Follow-up visits showed no action taken despite warnings.

Russell Abbott

On July 16, Russell Abbott, 56, of Marine Road, Abergele, attacked his partner Christine Bone in his flat after accusing her of infidelity. After drinking half a bottle of vodka, he strangled her twice with such force that she thought she was going to die, then slapped and punched her in the face, causing a black eye, bruising, a bloodied face, and profuse bleeding from her nose. Ms Bone left the flat and sought help at a nearby pub, where police were contacted. Abbott has 20 previous convictions for 57 offences.
Pleaded guilty to intentional strangulation and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Ordered to complete 26 building choices sessions, 10 days’ rehabilitation activity, and 60 days’ alcohol abstinence. Banned from contacting Christine Bone for two years. Judge noted genuine remorse and capability for rehabilitation.
Barry Davies

On August 24, 2024, Barry Davies, who was subject to a three-year criminal behaviour order from January 2024 prohibiting abusive or threatening language, entered Pentraeth Services in an intoxicated and agitated state. He demanded free rum, made staff uncomfortable, returned twice making hand gestures, and threatened staff member Samuel Allsop by saying 'If you get me nicked, I will end you and your family, and I will burn your store down.' He continued verbal abuse and threatened police officers upon their arrival.

Terrance Lloyd stole medical supplies including aspirin tablets, an inhaler, and EpiPens from HMP Berwyn on December 12, 2024, while serving a prison sentence; he was caught opening a healthcare bag and hiding it in his jumper, leading to the items being discarded due to contamination. After release in February 2025, he failed to register a new address provided by Gwynedd Council with police, breaching sex offenders register requirements. On March 1, 2025, he stole Montblanc perfume worth £61 from Boots on High Street, Bangor, intending to sell it for food and electricity. On April 13, 2025, during a mental health assessment at Ysbyty Gwynedd, Bangor, he became aggressive upon learning of his discharge, verbally abusing a nurse by calling her 'f***ing useless' and threatening to stab her, wielding a 'wet floor' sign, and later phoning police threatening to kill a female staff member and to set a car on fire; he was arrested at the hospital.

Carlos Fragoso

Carlos Fragoso was involved in supplying cocaine as part of a drug line in Wrexham between May 20 and July 3. He sent bulk messages advertising cocaine to over 100 people, and police linked emails and a mobile phone to him. CCTV footage showed him topping up the phone at a garage on Mold Road. He was searched by police on July 2, and the phone was found in his possession after he attempted to evade detection by changing the number. He denied involvement initially and claimed he had the phone for only a week.
Pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine. No previous convictions. Was addicted to the drug and had a £300 debt. Judge noted he acted in a lesser role and that his actions caused misery to those addicted and their surroundings.

Raymond Catterall
Dangerous Driving *

Raymond Catterall was driving a 7.5 tonne Mercedes Benz Atego lorry on the eastbound carriageway of the A55 near Bangor when he crashed into a stationary vehicle after repeatedly looking at his phone for a podcast. The incident occurred at about 2pm on May 15, 2023, and he narrowly avoided a family in the collision. He initially claimed a car pulled out in front of him but later admitted guilt.
Pleaded guilty. Judge stated the accident was entirely avoidable.
Lisa Grant
Having a dog dangerously out of control *

On November 17, 2023, at a farm in Rhoshirwaun, near Aberdaron, Gwynedd, Lisa Grant's XL Bully dog named 'Ricoh' attacked multiple people, including Grant, her partner, and the farm owner Gwilym Wyn Roberts, after being triggered by a car horn. Roberts suffered bite injuries requiring hospital treatment, and Grant and her partner also sustained serious injuries. The dog was shot dead by an air ambulance pilot to end the attack.

Delyth Davies

Paul Anthony Evans

Paul Anthony Evans, 51, of Llain Feurig, Holyhead, engaged in fraudulent and aggressive trading practices. In January 2023, he overcharged Neville Barlow £24,000 for substandard work valued at about £7,000. Despite agreeing to a repayment plan, he only paid £1,400. In December 2022, he quoted Robert Jones £500 for guttering work but later expanded it to £1,200, performing poor-quality work without proper safety measures, leading to additional costs of £2,000 for repairs. In January 2024, he persistently hassled John Williams, making him fearful. The total losses from his behaviour amounted to £21,376, and he continued offending even after trading standards intervened.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of participating in a fraudulent business, one count of knowingly engaging in an unfair commercial practice, and one count of knowingly engaging in an aggressive commercial practice. He has 12 previous convictions and was described by the judge as a 'rogue trader' who targeted vulnerable individuals. On November 6, 2024, Steven Boyd went to Gary Sellars' home on South Kinmel Street in Rhyl, initially claiming to buy cannabis. While under the influence of brandy, he threatened Sellars and others, entered the property carrying a six-inch kitchen knife, and stabbed Sellars multiple times, causing a punctured lung. Sellars, aged 34, was hospitalised at Royal Stoke University Hospital until November 8, 2024. Boyd fled the scene, was identified by witnesses, and was arrested near Chester railway station. He claimed self-defence, stating he was attacked and fought back.

Debbie Barlow

The girl reported the abuse in late 2023, describing him as jealous and controlling, which left her feeling isolated, vulnerable, lonely, and suffering from panic attacks.
Pritchard pleaded guilty to four counts of sexual activity with a child and one charge of sexual communication with a child. He had no previous convictions and was described as immature and suffering from a mental disorder. Judge Nicola Jones noted the devastating effect on the victim and imposed indefinite sex offenders register notification requirements, a lifelong sexual harm prevention order, and a lifelong restraining order.
Deborah Tinsley

Deborah Tinsley broke into Liam Booth's flat in Trearddur Bay on March 29, 2024, after her partner, a former employee of Booth, believed he owed them money. She caused criminal damage by pouring detergent over the kitchen floor and washing basket containing Booth's clothes, knocking over his TV, pouring bleach over his bed, and damaging his car. This was motivated by derogatory comments Booth made about Tinsley, including that she 'smelled like fish'. Booth reported feeling devastated, paranoid in his own home, and incurred costs to replace locks and a TV.
Found guilty after trial. No previous convictions. Felt aggrieved about money owed to her partner. Has significant mobility issues and poor mental health. Pleaded guilty to cannabis possession and four counts of breaching a restraining order. Has 23 previous convictions. Judge Timothy Petts noted that Roberts bombarded the victim with calls and ignored the restraining order, emphasising that the relationship is over.
William Palmer

William Palmer broke into his former partner Katie Williams' home in Gaerwen, Anglesey, on April 1. He assaulted Ms. Williams by punching her in the face and assaulted Daniel Evans-Bundy by biting his ear, drawing blood, and repeatedly punching, kicking, and stamping on him as he lay on the floor. Palmer also threw a stool at Ms. Williams, damaged Mr. Evans-Bundy's car windscreens causing over £700 in damage, and assaulted an emergency worker by pushing an officer, requiring the use of incapacitant spray.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of actual bodily harm, one count of criminal damage, and one charge of assaulting an emergency worker. Has 17 previous convictions. Expressed remorse and has mental health issues. Judge commented that his behaviour was fuelled by jealousy and inability to control his temper. Reece Williams, a 24-year-old from Pwllheli, was stopped by police in Llangedwyn, north Powys, in July 2023, while driving a BMW containing nearly 28 grams of cocaine valued between £4,800 and £6,075. He had collected the package from Birmingham and was involved in dealing drugs over a two-week period from June 25 to July 8, 2023, as evidenced by messages on seized mobile phones. Williams was a regular user addicted to the drug and acted out of desperation due to homelessness and debt, but he has since rehabilitated, stopped using drugs, and is now working as a mobile mechanic.
Pleaded guilty to possessing with intent to supply cocaine and being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug. Judge Nicola Jones noted he was an immature individual at the time of offending and had turned his life around, with no further offences committed during the delay in proceedings. He was ordered to pay a £187 victim surcharge and undertake 20 rehabilitation activity days.
Liam Coleman

Liam Coleman was involved in the supply of cannabis since 2019 and cocaine. In May 2024, he was seen topping up a 'graft phone' used to send over 4,000 messages advertising drugs. The phone remained active until July, after which he used his own mobile for daily drug sales. In April 2024, police attempted to arrest him at a property in Llandudno, where he fled, and drugs and paraphernalia were found. He was arrested the next day.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in cannabis supply and one count of being involved in the supply of cocaine. Had one previous conviction for two offences. Started dealing to fund his own drug habit, got into debt, is isolated in North Wales, fell into a bad crowd, and wants to gain stability. Judge stated he played a significant role in drug-dealing.
Daniel Thompson

Daniel Thompson was involved in the street supply of cannabis since 2019 and cocaine. He was arrested on March 17, 2022, and found in possession of 7.3g of cannabis. His mobile phone contained messages related to drug supply. Between September and October 2024, he sent bulk messages advertising drugs on a nearly daily basis and eventually surrendered to police in November 2024.
Pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in cannabis supply and one count of being involved in the supply of cocaine. Had no previous convictions. Bitterly regrets his actions, used time on remand constructively with enhanced prisoner status, and has developed a positive relationship with his mother. James Sandhu

On June 7, 2024, James Sandhu, who was drunk, confronted his ex-girlfriend's current partner, Dylan Breeze, and instructed him to go to Barmouth Beach. Once there, Sandhu waved a knife at Mr. Breeze and threatened him by saying, 'I’m going to shaft you.' Mr. Breeze fled and contacted emergency services. Sandhu was located and arrested less than a mile away shortly after 6.51pm. He has a history of similar offences and struggles with alcohol and emotional issues.
Pleaded guilty to possession of and threatening a person with a bladed article in a public place. Has 20 previous convictions, including for possession of a bladed article in 2016. Judge Timothy Petts stated that immediate custody was necessary for threatening someone with a knife in public. A 10-year restraining order was imposed for the victim's protection. The defendant has serious issues with alcohol and needs help.
Michael Jones

Michael Jones, 31, of Glan Cadnant, Caernarfon, attacked his then-partner Tracey Thomas in her home early on December 15, 2024, during an argument. He broke the bathroom door handle, slapped and punched her to the face and head, causing her to have a seizure, lose consciousness, and require staples to the back of her head, along with bruising to her chin and knee. Jones called emergency services afterward and later surrendered to authorities.
Pleaded guilty to wounding and criminal damage. Has 14 previous convictions. Ordered to complete 30 days' rehabilitation activity and a six-month monitoring period. Judge issued a two-year restraining order and told him to stay away from the victim.
