Jones approached a group of youths, spoke aggressively to a girl he did not know, and followed the group to Station Road. The youths ran into a nearby shop for safety, but the girl was left outside where Jones pulled out the machete, waved it around, and threatened her, causing her to fear for her life and beg not to be killed. Jones and his accomplice later reappeared at the Prince Madoc Pub, with Jones again waving the knife. Police were alerted via CCTV, and Jones was detained after a struggle, continuing to shout threats.

Complaints from customers between April and October 2023 reported lack of effect and poor response from Edwards. She falsely claimed to be a trainee nurse. Two complainants paid for treatments but received the inferior product, leading to fraud charges.

This followed his prior attention from authorities for inciting a young girl to engage in sexual activity, which led to the imposition of restrictions. In June of the previous year, he was discovered using Snapchat in breach of a sexual harm prevention order; phones were seized, and he was released under investigation, but he continued to offend by contacting the victim.
Admitted breaching a risk of sexual harm order and failing to comply with notification requirements of sex offenders register. Early guilty pleas entered. He racially aggravatedly harassed Reehan Aqeel and used threatening or abusive behaviour towards Steffan Williams at Tesco in Porthmadog on 5 September 2025. Oleksandr Baryshnikov, 49, of Y Castell, Bangor, moved from Ukraine to the UK in his twenties, went through immigration processes, worked in a food processing factory until it closed, then became a self-employed builder. He was injured in a gas explosion, leading to pain and self-medication with controlled drugs. Police raided his Gwynedd home on August 11, 2022, finding 675g of amphetamine worth £6,570 in the freezer. He was arrested the next day, claimed drugs for personal use, but phone messages from June 2 to August 11, 2022, showed involvement in supplying class A (cocaine) and class B (amphetamine) drugs, including requests on credit.
Admitted being concerned in the supply of cocaine and possessing amphetamine with intent to supply. Judge noted significant role and knowledge of operation scale. The child was taken to a neighbouring house before emergency services arrived and treated for four wounds, undergoing an operation the following day to clean and stitch the injuries.

Pulled the dog away from the child by jumping on it and biting it to force release. Expresses remorse. Morgan Lewis-Williams, from Weston Road, Rhyl, manipulated a 14-year-old girl online into sharing sexualised images and performing sex acts. The victim was 12 or 13 when her mother first noticed a man encouraging sexual messages and meetings, including in Manchester, and reported it to police. Around 18 months later, the mother found the girl on a video call with Lewis-Williams at night and contacted police. Messages exchanged in May 2024 included playing a 'risky game' on 13 May, where he goaded her into 'dirty talk', leading her to send clothed photos, a video in underwear, an intimate photo, and two videos of a sex act, while he knew she was 14 and he was 18. On 19 May, he expressed fear of getting 'done for noncing'. The victim read a statement in court about the lasting impact, and her mother described her as a 'shell of her old self'.
Admitted inciting a child to engage in sexual activity and making indecent images of a child in category A and category C. Has ADHD and traits of autism affecting decision making. Subject to sex offender notification requirements for life, a restraining order for life, and a sexual harm prevention order for 20 years.

Scott Gallagher, 59, from Llandudno Junction, was at a property on Walton Road with his XL Bully dog named Tyson when he released the dog's collar, allowing it to attack a child four times, biting the child's arm. Gallagher did nothing to intervene during the attack. The incident occurred in 2024. The child sustained four wounds, requiring medical treatment and an operation the following day to clean and stitch the injuries. The court also ordered the destruction of Tyson and the defendants' Pit Bull Terrier, Caesar, and banned Gallagher from owning dogs for 15 years.

On December 27, 2025, Stephen Jones broke into a family home in Wrexham at 1.15am, wearing the homeowner Matt Phillips' coat and shining a torch in his face. He threatened Mr Phillips, falsely claiming to have a gun, and asked if he knew who he was messing with. A confrontation ensued, captured on mobile phone footage by Mr Phillips' wife who was on the phone to police. The struggle moved to the garage where they fell onto a sofa before Jones fled. The couple's young daughter hid under her bed clutching a teddy bear in terror and later asked if the man would return for their Christmas presents. Jones' crime spree also included breaking into St Christopher’s School, a special needs school in Wrexham, on December 10, 2025, where he stole food, a pupil’s iPad, damaged desks, and left blood at the scene. On December 11, 2025, he broke into a woman’s car, leaving blood spots and stealing diaries and aftershave worth £310.
Pleaded guilty to burglary. Concurrent sentences of 12 months for school break-in and 2 months for assaulting Matt Phillips. Little planning involved.

Nico Williams, 28, from Vicarage Hill in Rhostyllen, subjected a 13-year-old girl to months of sexual abuse over a five-month period. He first approached the girl outside an Aldi store in Sheffield before travelling to the city multiple times to abuse her. During one 24-hour period, there were 960 phone calls and messages exchanged. He recorded sexual encounters in woodland and made disturbing demands, including asking the child to send videos of herself using the toilet. His crimes came to light when his former girlfriend discovered indecent material on his phone and alerted South Yorkshire Police, who contacted North Wales Police. Officers seized his device and a notebook containing a photograph of the victim and her rose gold iPhone, which he had kept after buying her a replacement. The girl's family described how he manipulated and groomed their daughter, threatening to harm or kill himself.
Admitted sexual activity with a child, meeting a child following sexual grooming, causing the sexual exploitation of a child, and making indecent images across categories A, B and C. Received nine-year sentences for three counts of sexual activity with a child, with two running concurrently, alongside other concurrent terms. Indefinite sex offender notification requirements, sexual harm prevention order, and restraining order imposed. Judge condemned his relentless campaign of grooming and predatory behaviour.
Jordan Jones

Jordan Jones, 29, of Stad Cae Rhun, Cemaes Bay, Anglesey, was involved in supplying drugs. Police, acting on intelligence, searched his home on Boxing Day and found a black Adidas rucksack containing snap bags for cocaine, cash, scales, and a Motorola phone. In the house, they discovered a Heinz tomato soup tin with sealed bags for cocaine, totaling 30g of high-purity cocaine worth between £2,361 and £5,059. Additionally, a gold-coloured knuckleduster, a stun device disguised as a mobile phone, and £2,000 in cash from drugs were found. Jones had fallen behind on loan repayments, leading to debt, and made a foolish decision to offend after social use of cannabis and cocaine. He bought the knuckleduster online but never brandished it in public. He regrets his actions and has a daughter and young brother affected.
Pleaded guilty to possession of a Class A drug, possession of criminal property - cash - and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place. No separate penalty for criminal property or weapons offence. Judge noted expectation of significant financial reward and worrying possession of weapons indicating preparedness to use them if needed.

On March 1, 2025, in the early hours, 20-year-old retained firefighter Liam Owen, after drinking at a family celebration and meeting friends, collected his car keys and revved the engine despite friends urging him to stop. He drove towards Llyn Tegid with 18-year-old passenger Levi Douglas, who described the driving as too fast, jerky, and subpar for road conditions. Owen lost control on a bend on the A494 near Llanycil, hitting a tree and then a wall. Douglas suffered five spinal fractures, whiplash, bruising to hip and left shoulder, requiring a back brace and lengthy recovery, potentially ending his dream of joining the army. Owen was not wearing a seatbelt and was flung around. Breath test showed 83mg alcohol in breath (limit 35mg) and 129mg in blood (limit 80mg). Owen asked a friend to take him home post-crash before returning to the scene.
No previous convictions. Described as a hard-working young man who learned his lesson. Incident deemed out of character due to immaturity. Lost role in fire service. Judge noted realistic chance of rehabilitation and praised prior act of saving two children from drowning.

On January 31, 2025, at around 10pm, Benjamin Jones was walking past The Grapes Hotel in Maentwrog near Blaenau Ffestinog when he greeted Dafydd Jones, whom he knew. As he continued walking, he felt contact on his head, leading to a struggle where he wrestled Dafydd to the floor. He then received multiple slaps and was struck approximately 50 times by Dafydd and his brother Lewis using punches and kicks with shod feet. Benjamin escaped to a nearby converted chapel for refuge, where he received painkillers but was advised that an ambulance would take several hours. He called his cousin for a ride and sought hospital treatment the next day, sustaining bruises, swelling, welts, grazes to his left eye, upper lip and back, facial pain for two weeks, difficulty concentrating, and concussion. His hand injuries affected his work as a self-employed window and door fitter and surveyor. The brothers initially denied the assault, claiming they had not met Benjamin that night.
Pleaded guilty to assaulting Benjamin Jones causing actual bodily harm. Judge described the attack as vicious and unprovoked, noting the use of shod feet as a weapon. The victim was lucky not to have his eye socket fractured.

On New Year's Eve, Joshua Gilmore, 26, of no fixed address, took a Honda Jazz car without permission from its owner Benjy French on Snowdon Street, Porthmadog. He drove the vehicle while intoxicated and disqualified, leading police to use a stinger to stop him after two hours. Breath tests showed 105 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath initially, later 56 micrograms at the station (legal limit 35). This incident breached a suspended sentence from a 2018 dangerous driving conviction.
Activated 10 months of a previous 21-month suspended sentence for breaching the order. Additional 14 days for taking vehicle without consent, consecutive. 10 days for drink driving, concurrent. Ricky Pritchard, 31, of Maes Llwyn, Amlwch, turned to dealing cocaine and cannabis resin to counteract gambling debts. On December 27, 2025, police stopped his silver Ford Mondeo on Mona Street in Amlwch after he dropped off items at a container on Amlwch industrial estate. Searches of the car revealed plastic bags with wraps of white powder (cocaine), a lunchbox with green blocks (cannabis resin), two iPhones, and cash. Further searches of his home and the storage container uncovered snap bags, scales, more white powder, and additional cash. The cocaine had a potential street value of £8,000 to £12,700, and the cannabis resin £500 to £900, totaling up to £13,600. Pritchard claimed the drugs were for personal use and made no comment about the container items.
Pleaded guilty. Concurrent 8 months for possession with intent to supply cannabis resin. No separate penalty for criminal property due to uncounted cash. Drugs and paraphernalia forfeited and destroyed. Gambling addiction cited as motive.

Son of ringleader Lee Rigby, described by judge as trying to make his father proud by being the best drug dealer.

Lee Rigby, 42, of Station Road, Sandycroft, led a gang conspiring to supply 9kg of cocaine, along with ketamine and cannabis, in North Wales between December 2022 and November 2023. He sourced drugs from upstream suppliers, used relatives and associates for distribution, and laundered proceeds through bank accounts during trips to Thailand, spending on property, boats, and cars. The operation was uncovered via police surveillance and a listening device in a vehicle.
Ringleader described as a 'mean and cruel bully' who exploited family members including his son. Has 11 prior convictions for 15 offences including violence and cockle poaching.

On March 10, 2023, at The Station pub in Colwyn Bay, Russell Jones threw a glass, prompting Jamie Smith to intervene in defence of another man named Ryan. Smith threw several punches at Jones' head, causing a cut above his eye and leaving him covered in blood. The incident was captured on CCTV at 11pm. Smith, aged 34 from Lon Pwll Clai, Edern, Pwllheli, admitted the affray caused fear. There was a significant delay in proceedings due to his mental health hospitalization for seven months until November 2025.
Pleaded guilty to affray. Judge accepted initial self-defence but found excessive force used. Significant mental health issues, sectioned since incident, no further offending, extremely remorseful.
Anthony Stokes
Dangerous driving *

Shortly before 6pm on May 18, 2025, Anthony Stokes drove a grey SAAB convertible dangerously in the Tywyn area, carrying two passengers. He drove at excessive speeds, dangerously overtaking vehicles, before stopping at a campsite in Tywyn. Following his arrest, he became aggressive and caused significant damage to the back of a police car. He was also found in possession of cannabis.
Pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving without a licence or insurance, failing to provide a specimen for analysis, causing criminal damage to a police car, and possession of cannabis. Inspector Iwan Jones commented on the recklessness that could have caused a serious collision.
Patrik Durac

Patrik Durac, a 27-year-old Czech national, was deported from the UK in 2023 after convictions for supplying Class A drugs and violent disorder. He illegally re-entered the country within months, flaunting his return on social media while wearing a £1,500 Moncler jacket. He attempted to enter via ferry from Ireland to Holyhead, Wales, using the alias Martin Rafael after changing his name by deed poll. On December 6, 2025, Border Force identified him through fingerprints at Holyhead.
Admitted breaching his deportation order. Will be removed from the UK again after serving sentence. Appeared via video link from Berwyn Prison.
Bethan Farr

On August 24, 2025, at Beibio playing park in Holyhead, Bethan Farr's dog, described as a 'pocket bully', was off its lead and attacked an eight-year-old girl who was playing hide and seek. The dog latched onto the girl's hoodie and then her ankle, dragging her around the field for about six minutes, causing deep leg injuries that required two operations and hospital treatment. The incident was captured on CCTV.
Admitted being in charge of a dog that was dangerously out of control, which caused injury. The dog was ordered to be destroyed.

Luke Gillard

Luke Gillard, 21, of Wirral View, Hawarden, breached a ten-year sexual harm prevention order imposed on August 28, 2024, following prior convictions for three counts of sexual activity with a child. On October 28, 2025, he removed his GPS monitoring tag and discarded it in a public bin to avoid detection. Police found a hidden Samsung phone under his bed with access to Snapchat, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram. He sent messages to children aged 13, 14, and 15, lying about his age, including sexualised communication with a 15-year-old girl between October 12 and 27, 2025.
Concurrent sentences of 16 months for unlawful use of social media, 8 months for breaching notification requirements, and 6 months for sexual communication with a child. Pleaded guilty to four sex offences. Judge noted sexual obsession with teenage girls and ADHD/autism diagnosis.
Adrian Howarth

Carl Ulrich

On March 23, 2024, at 9pm, Carl Ulrich and his neighbour Gareth Jones were shouting at each other from different floors of their building on Crescent Close, Wrexham. Ulrich went downstairs, knocked on Jones' door while filming, leading to a confrontation. Initially acting in self-defence, Ulrich used excessive force, punching Jones several times, including while he was on the floor, due to his boxing gym experience. Jones suffered a deep forehead wound, laceration above left eye, dislocated shoulder, and bruises resembling stamp marks on his back. He continues to feel effects two years later.
Pleaded guilty to wounding on the day of trial. Ordered to complete 20 days of rehabilitation activity. Two-year restraining order prohibiting contact with victim.
Christine Dinneen

Christine Dinneen drove without due care and attention in the car park of Tesco in Porthmadog on 14 April 2025, causing damage to a Toyota car.
Pleaded guilty to driving without due care and attention. Charges of failing to stop and failing to report a road traffic accident were withdrawn. No order for costs.
Christopher Jones

Christopher Jones, 33, of Garth Road, Bangor, attacked Tomos Morgan Lloyd at the Dolbadarn Hotel in Llanberis on November 22, 2024. The hotel was housing homeless people at the time. Jones invited Lloyd to his room, drank whisky, and became aggressive. When Lloyd tried to leave after feeling uncomfortable, Jones kicked him full force on the right thigh, continued kicking his legs and ribs, punched his face and body, and put him in a headlock causing asphyxia and difficulty breathing. Lloyd later discovered two small wounds on his right ankle resembling cigarette burns, plus bruises on arms, legs, and left eye socket. Police arrested Jones, who gave no comment in interview. The assault led to a decline in Lloyd's mental health, heavy drinking, freezing at sight of similar-looking people, and avoidance of areas where Jones might live.
Admitted assault causing actual bodily harm. Ordered to complete 20 days of rehabilitation activity and 35 sessions of an accredited programme. Genuine remorse shown; struggles with mental health. Defence noted he has turned his life around and understands alcohol issues.
David Matthew Pugh

David Matthew Pugh, 25, of Llanberis, stole a cement mixer and two wheelbarrows worth £1,600 from a property renovation site in Llanberis being filmed by the BBC's DIY SOS team with Nick Knowles last month. He took the equipment while walking home from a local pub after drinking, pushed it to his home at Llainwen Isaf, and hid it in a garage. The items were recovered within 24 hours thanks to an air tag tracker. The theft caused community outrage.
Pleaded guilty to theft. Defence solicitor noted it was an opportunistic offence committed after drinking at a pub; he was unaware of the DIY SOS connection and is extremely embarrassed. Court noted attempt to conceal evidence as aggravating factor. Must pay £199 costs.
David Pugh

David Pugh stole a cement mixer and two wheelbarrows from the site of a DIY SOS project in Llanberis, Eryri, near Yr Wyddfa, over the weekend of December 6 and 7, 2025. The site was being used for filming an episode of the BBC show DIY SOS, which transforms people's homes. The equipment was reported stolen by North Wales Police, later found and returned to the team. Pugh was tracked down, arrested, and charged with theft.
Pleaded guilty to theft. Aged 25, of Llanberis in Gwynedd.
