It was sold in September 2022, but McBeth failed to pass on the payment, leaving Horton in financial difficulties and living off credit cards. The victim sustained injuries including a black eye, chipped tooth, bruised shoulder, tender ribs, and a neck bite. Another man in the flat intervened by hitting Morgan.

The defendant has a history of alcoholism, significant liver disease, and Type II diabetes. A dangerous driver who had spent years on the run was arrested following a 160mph motorway chase. Patrick Connors was spotted in a BMW car in Leicestershire in February 2025. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but he drove away, reaching speeds of up to 160mph on the M1 and M69 motorways.
Also known as William Ward. Had spent years on the run. Previously failed to appear in court charged with receiving £21,000 from a rogue trader scam.

Andrew Phipps, during a mental health crisis, threatened to kill his neighbour of 10 years after she visited his flat on 23rd March 2025 and noticed knives on the floor. He armed himself with a knife and chisel, shouted threats including 'I am going to kill you', stabbed at her front door, banged on it, and waved weapons while arguing with others and banging on other residents' doors.
Pleaded guilty to making threats to kill, criminal damage, and affray. Suffering from mental health issues, diabetes, and learning difficulties. Judge noted he was in a relapse of mental health issues and had been remanded in custody for more than four months.
Jonathan Charles Evans

Jonathan Evans abused two boys over several years at different locations, including cupping his hands over one victim's genitals, which the victim initially thought was banter but later recognised as abuse, and sending explicit photos of himself via Snapchat to another victim while repeatedly asking for naked images in return. The offences involved grooming and had a significant emotional, mental, social, and professional impact on the victims.
Abuse of trust as a former RAF Air Cadet instructor and school worker; first time before a court; delay in prosecution from 2020 to 2024; judge noted grooming and offences against several victims over several years.
Kane Braisdell

Kane Braisdell was selling cocaine from his flat in Caia Park, Wrexham, for about seven weeks in May and June 2025. He sent bulk messages advertising cocaine to around 200 people at a time and took orders. Police traced his phone, arrested him on June 26, 2025, and found six wraps of crack cocaine in a Kinder Egg, £300 in cash, a dealer's list, scales, and his phone during a search of his home.
Admitted to the offences. The judge noted he was under pressure due to his mother's addiction and has not re-offended. Ordered to complete 25 days of rehabilitation activity and a six-month drug rehabilitation programme.
Timothy Field
Causing death by careless driving *

Eight-month suspended prison sentence and disqualified from driving for two years
Timothy Field, 81, of Red Lane, Tregodva, Shropshire, was driving a red Jeep in a Tesco car park in Newtown, Powys, on March 18, 2024, when his foot slipped from the brake onto the accelerator and became wedged, causing the vehicle to lurch forward and collide with David Lumb, 78. Mr Lumb was knocked to the ground and run over, sustaining severe injuries including tissue damage and extensive bleeding in his left leg. He was hospitalised, developed sepsis, and died 17 days later on April 4, 2024.
The judge, Her Honour Nicola Jones, suspended the sentence for 12 months and highlighted Mrs Lumb's call for forgiveness and leniency. Field has given up driving and must pass an extended retest before driving again.
Mohammad Anwar
Conspiracy to steal and money laundering *

Mohammad Anwar was involved in an organised crime group that stole large quantities of fuel from depots across North Wales and other areas, including Iceland's depot in Deeside, Parcelforce in Sandycroft, Certas Energy in Wrexham, and GD Jones & Son on Anglesey. The group used accomplices, cloned plates, and electric pumps to siphon fuel into containers at night, which was then sold, with potential catastrophic risks due to unsafe transportation.

On July 13, 2024, at The Black Lion Inn in Bersham, Wrexham, Martin Pritchard entered the pub and demanded car keys from his sister who had been in a car park altercation. When asked to leave by the complainant, Mark Robertson, Pritchard refused initially and then threatened him with a knife, stating he would cut his face off and slice him. Police arrested him the following day and found a Stanley knife believed to be his.
Pritchard was trying to help his sister after she was involved in a car park incident. He had the knife for work purposes. The judge noted his family and work responsibilities but highlighted the offence occurred in a pub with children present and his poor record. A restraining order was issued prohibiting contact with the victim and entering the pub for five years.
Mercedes Harper

Mercedes Harper stalked her former partner over six months in 2023 after their relationship ended. She cut his back while behind him on the stairs, threw stones at his property, sent text messages pretending to be his estranged daughter with threats such as 'When I see you, you're a dead man', set up false Facebook profiles, and accused him of seeing other women in voicemails. She denied the offences in a police interview on October 22, 2023.

Tomas Politovas
Conspiracy to steal motor vehicles *

Tomas Politovas was involved in a sophisticated plot to steal high-value cars worth up to £500,000 from Cheshire and North Wales. He used high-tech equipment such as GPS jammers and signal blockers to disable tracking devices, covered CCTV and doorbell cameras with duct tape, and stole vehicles including BMWs and Mercedes. The offences occurred between January 29 and March 10, 2025, involving attempts and successful thefts in various locations. He was arrested after police spotted his suspicious car in Prestatyn, where he was found with a rucksack containing a Stanley knife, screwdrivers, drill bits, cloned number plates, and other tools. Accomplices were involved, and the stolen vehicles were intended for dismantling and sale of parts abroad.
Pleaded guilty to conspiracy to steal motor vehicles and possession of a bladed article. Judge praised alert police officers and anticipated deportation.

The victim suffered physical injuries, such as bruising and a bitten ear, and psychological trauma, including nightmares where she feared for her life, leading her to wake up screaming and in a cold sweat.
Admitted to coercive and controlling behaviour, two counts of intentional strangulation, and threatening to share an intimate photograph. Part of a suspended sentence was activated, and the judge described the offences as nasty.
Alexander Jones
Ownership of a dog dangerously out of control *

Alexander Jones's Belgian Malinois dog attacked a mother and her four-year-old son in Llandudno on March 5, 2024, while they were on a street near the town centre. The dog bit the boy, and when the mother tried to intervene, she was also bitten. The attack was witnessed by the boy's three-year-old sister. The mother hit the dog with a drinks bottle in self-defence, and bystanders and police assisted. There were two prior incidents involving the dog in August and November 2023. Jones obtained the dog for his own protection due to his vulnerabilities.
The defendant has significant mental health issues and vulnerabilities, including being targeted by a criminal gang. He was ordered to attend ten days of rehabilitation activity, a six-month drug rehabilitation programme, and a 12-month mental health treatment programme. He is banned from controlling a dog for life.
Ethan Jordan Jones

Ethan Jordan Jones, in a toxic relationship, assaulted his partner multiple times. On January 13, he burned her wrist with a lighter while she slept. On January 20, he grabbed her hair, punched her, and hit her with a mobile phone after questioning a text message. In another incident, he strangled her by placing his hands around her throat and punched her in the stomach, dragged her by her hair, bit her on the face, leg, and arm, and kneed her thigh. The assaults led to her hospitalisation with injuries including headaches, nausea, a lump on her head, bruises, and a bite wound.
Pleaded guilty to four assaults causing actual bodily harm and intentional strangulation. Judge noted he has deep-seated jealousy issues and is not emotionally resilient.
Kevin Evans

Kevin Evans, dressed in a balaclava and carrying a machete, poured petrol through the letterbox of a house in Cae Llwybr, Caernarfon, and set it alight on December 9, 2024, as part of a vendetta. Evans was identified by a victim, arrested at his home where he was washing petrol-soiled clothes, and CCTV footage confirmed his actions, including purchasing petrol and carrying a weapon.

Barthomiej Swedroski

In January 2025, during an argument, he pushed her off their bed, grabbed her head, hit it on the floor three or four times, and spat in her face. In the third incident on April 10, 2025, he grabbed her arms, spat in her face twice, pulled her down the stairs by her legs, punched her about ten times in the kitchen, pulled her hair, hit her head, and strangled her. She managed to call the police.
Admitted three separate offences of assault. The judge noted aggravating factors including offences committed under the influence of alcohol and degradation due to spitting. He must also pay a £154 court surcharge.
Adam Holland

Adam Holland, of Feather Street, Flint, threatened his landlord, David Williams, with a 12-inch knife after being issued an eviction notice for unpaid rent dating back six months. The incident took place on September 9, 2023, outside The New Inn in Llangynog, where Holland approached Williams, waved the knife while shouting threats such as 'I will have you', and kicked the victim's car, causing minor damage. Williams feared he would be stabbed and reported the incident to the police, leading to Holland's arrest. Holland claimed he carried the knife for his own protection but later admitted his actions were wrong.
Pleaded guilty to threatening a person with a knife in a public place. Judge described his actions as 'frankly ridiculous' and noted his mental health difficulties and history of trauma. No separate penalty for criminal damage to the victim's car.

Described as low risk by the probation service and keen to cooperate. Was struggling financially and had caring responsibilities. Involved in the crimes but did not take a lead role.
Michael Parry

Michael Parry, 40, of Tyddyn Uchaf, Llangernyw, stole from three properties between October and December 2024. He posed as a gardener and gutter clearer to gain access to vulnerable and elderly people's homes. In one case, he used the toilet in a victim's home for an extended period and stole items. He also ransacked another property, taking numerous items of monetary and sentimental value. The victims included an 88-year-old woman in Abergele and her neighbours, who had recommended him based on his apparent helpfulness.
Genuinely remorseful and apologised to the victims. Had a lead role in the crimes and did nothing to stop them. Judge noted he was hard working but stole from victims while using their toilet. He had one prior conviction for using a vehicle without insurance in 2024, and two cautions in 2009 for fraud and non-dwelling burglary.
Michael Eastwood
Causing serious injury by careless driving *

Michael Eastwood, 78, of Lon Bedw, Llandudno Junction, was driving a Honda car when he struck a woman on a zebra crossing near the Next store in Llandudno on December 9, 2023, at about 5.25pm. The victim, who had just left work, suffered devastating injuries including multiple fractures below her left knee requiring plating, two broken foot bones, a fractured ankle, and a head wound needing eight staples. She required extensive hospital treatment, was housebound for about four months, and continues to experience pain, anxiety, and reduced confidence.
Extremely remorseful, no previous convictions, and a momentary lapse of concentration while checking behind him as he changed lanes.
Gica Matei
Knowingly entering the UK in breach of a deportation order *

Gica Matei, 33, of no fixed address, was stopped at Holyhead on April 23, 2025, while attempting to enter the UK despite an indefinite deportation order issued on November 5, 2019. He claimed he only intended to stay for two days to visit his family in Nottingham, where his brother, sister, wife, and four-year-old daughter reside. Matei had previously breached the order at the same port in July 2020 and was living in Ireland as a homeless delivery driver and cleaner. He stated he could not return to Romania due to debts related to his mother's funeral, rent, and food, and feared serious physical harm from creditors.
Pleaded guilty to knowingly entering the UK in breach of a deportation order. The judge imposed a deterrent sentence, noting he will serve up to half the term, and that he mistakenly thought the deportation order lasted only two years.
Dean Mears

Dean Mears broke into Cathy Flynn's home on Cefndy Road, Rhyl, on October 24, 2024, by smashing a window. On January 25, 2025, she stole chilled items worth £22.80 from Sainsbury’s in Llandudno, and on January 29, 2025, she stole more chilled items worth £80 from the same store. She breached bail by failing to appear in court on March 17, 2025.
Pleaded guilty to five thefts and breaching bail conditions. Has 28 previous convictions, 25 of which were theft-related. Judge acknowledged her vulnerability due to alcoholism and noted that prison had been beneficial, urging her to avoid previous associates to prevent further offending.
Kyle Martin John Parry

Kyle Martin John Parry, a 29-year-old formerly from the Caernarfon area, was jailed for raping a teenage girl in historic offences. The crimes involved sexual activity with a child and sexual assault by penetration. He appeared in court, where the victim demonstrated great bravery by reading her statement directly to him.
Had previous convictions for sexually assaulting a five-year-old boy in 2017. The victim showed tremendous courage in court and read her Victim Personal Statement.
Kyle Parry

In 2015, Kyle Parry, then 19 years old, invited a 15-year-old vulnerable girl and her friends to his home in North Wales, where he provided them with alcohol and cigarettes. The girl became extremely drunk, vomited, and was told she could sleep in his bed. While she was intoxicated and possibly unconscious, he raped and sexually assaulted her, leaving her feeling dirty, ashamed, and with lasting mental health impacts. The incident was reported later, and he was already serving a sentence for a previous sexual assault on a five-year-old boy.
Pleaded guilty at an early stage and self-reported the crime as part of his rehabilitation. Judge noted he was grooming vulnerable teenagers by providing alcohol and cigarettes, and that the victim suffered significant trauma. He has prior convictions for sexual offences, including assault on a child.
Tom Webster

The order was granted on May 19th, 2025, at Llandudno Magistrates Court for a period of three months. He was seen with his ex-partner in Holyhead on June 8th, 2025, and was arrested the same day.
Admitted the breach. First person to receive a custodial sentence under the North Wales Domestic Abuse Protection Order (DAPO) pilot scheme. Disregard for the court order shows disrespect for the justice system, as noted by Sergeant Chris Burrow.
George Kovacs

On December 17, 2022, in the Waunfawr area of Gwynedd, George Kovacs confronted two teenagers he believed were up to no good near his property. He attacked one of them, Kian Williams, with a fence post and pole, striking him multiple times as the teenager tried to defend himself, resulting in fractures to his arm and wrist that required surgery. Kovacs also threatened to kill the teenagers if they returned and later posted threats on Facebook.
Pleaded guilty to unlawful wounding. Has five previous convictions for eight offences, including weapons offences. Judge commented that his actions went far beyond anything reasonably thought necessary to protect property.
Nathan Raymond Williams

On January 12, 2025, Nathan Raymond Williams was driving a silver Alfa Romeo at high speed in Bangor. He evaded police, drove through a red light, exceeded 60mph, overtook vehicles on Caernarfon Road, entered a roundabout the wrong way, and attempted to enter the A55 contraflow before being stopped by a police vehicle making tactical contact.
Pleaded guilty to driving offences. PC Robert Williams commented that the driving was completely reckless and could have caused a serious incident.

Billie Jo Kane

Billie Jo Kane, 27, of Ty Newydd caravan park, Llanbedrgoch, Anglesey, assisted Peter Jason Lee in breaking into an 82-year-old widow’s remote home in rural Anglesey on October 23, 2023. The pair forced entry by tearing a window frame from its hinges, injuring the victim’s finger, and stole irreplaceable sentimental items, including a photograph of the victim’s deceased son and his late father. They caused further distress by spraying bleach and threatening to burn the house.
Jailed for her role as an accomplice in the crime.

On November 17, 2023, Mathew Cai Jones attempted to dispose of 33 bags of cocaine by throwing them over a fence during a police stop related to a domestic argument in Holyhead. Police found £422.45 in cash on him, and a search of his home revealed a cannabis grinder, scales, Tupperware with cocaine (80% purity), other drugs, and a plastic bag with a cannabis logo. His mobile phone contained messages evidencing drug dealing, with the total drug haul valued at £4,080.
Defence lawyer stated that Jones was an addict in debt but had turned his life around with employment and references; Judge Rhys Rowlands noted prior suspended sentence for possession of ketamine with intent to supply and that Jones knew the risks of dealing Class A drugs.

On February 8, 2025, Michael Roberts entered the Deniz Continental Store in Ruabon Road, Wrexham, approached the counter, produced a 10cm knife, and demanded money from store assistant Beata Wisniewska, who was frightened and handed over approximately £250. He was apprehended later that day with some of the money and the knife. This was his second robbery at the same store against the same victim, following a previous conviction in 2021 for a similar offence.
Pleaded guilty to robbery, possession of a knife, and failing to comply with notification requirements. Judge Rhys Rowlands noted that the offence was too serious for anything other than a custodial sentence and imposed a ten-year restraining order prohibiting contact with the victim or the store.

A 'callous' motorist struck a 77-year-old pensioner, Cliff Roberts, and left him with 'life-changing' injuries before driving home rather than stopping to help. Babbs was driving at twice the speed limit when he collided with the victim who was cleaning his car. The victim was left with 'irreversible' injuries and was screaming out in pain after being hit.
Described as a 'callous' motorist. Father-of-three.

Kelly Cavanagh attacked her former partner, Dennis Williams, with a saucepan while he was sleeping on a sofa in February 2024. She then confronted him in the kitchen with a knife, which he took from her, before dragging him back and biting his leg. She also damaged his van's windscreen and headlight after discovering messages on his phone from his mother and sister, which she had previously forbidden. Police investigations revealed a prior incident in 2022 where she hit another former partner with a saucepan.
Pleaded guilty to wounding. Suffers from emotionally unstable personality and ADHD. Judge noted that while serious harm was caused, immediate imprisonment would harm her children.
James Jones
Possession of a bladed article in a public place *

James Jones brandished a knife through a child's bedroom window during a heated argument stemming from ongoing disputes over loud music and parties. The incident occurred on March 31, following a verbal confrontation on March 30, involving Jones and others with Andrew Hamilton. CCTV footage captured Jones pointing the knife at Hamilton through the window and pushing his arm through it, causing Hamilton to feel threatened. Jones was later found hiding near a railway line with the knife.
Pleaded guilty to possession of a bladed article in a public place. Defence lawyer argued the incident was short-lived and threats were made towards him. Judge warned that people who carry knives are at risk of acting impulsively.

Jason Owen, in an intoxicated state, banged on doors and forced his way into properties in Holyhead on January 9, 2025. He attacked 75-year-old Brendan Kenny by pushing and punching him in the face in an unprovoked assault, leaving Mr Kenny with a broken nose, broken cheekbone, and dislodged jaw. Witnesses described the attack as vicious and ferocious, and Owen was heard making derogatory remarks.
Admitted wounding the pensioner. Expressed deep remorse due to an emotionally fragile state and alcohol issues, which make him aggressive. The judge described the assault as vicious and noted it shattered the victim's confidence.
Billy Joe Walsh

At HMP Berwyn, Wrexham, Billy Joe Walsh, 36, of College Road, St Helens, brandished a sharpened part of a hand basin and assaulted three prison guards, who wrestled him to the floor and handcuffed him. A black plastic blade was later found in his segregation unit cell.

A dangerous driver crashed his car into a wall while trying to escape from police. Adam Roberts then fled from the vehicle, but was soon caught by officers. The incident happened on Stansty Road, Wrexham on February 21, 2025.
Incident happened a month after he had stolen items worth almost £900 from shops.

After she ended the relationship, he stalked her.

On 18 August 2024, Gary Wyn Morgan argued with a man and smashed a plate over his head before leaving. On 22 August 2024, officers attempted to arrest him, during which he became aggressive, punching one officer in the face and spitting at another. While in custody, he punched a custody sergeant in the jaw, causing the sergeant to fall unconscious and require stitches.
Admitted assaulting three emergency workers and a further assault. Chief Inspector Stephen Pawson described his violent behaviour against police officers as disgraceful.

Reef Byfield

In February 2025, Reef Byfield, 25, of Pen-y-Wern, Rhosllanerchgrugog, Wrexham, threw a bike wheel with gears at a police officer during a street disturbance involving 30 or 40 people in Rhosllanerchrugog, Wrexham. The wheel struck his female friend on the side of the head, knocking her out and leaving her in a pool of blood requiring hospital treatment.
