The unfounded claims led to the victim being arrested twice (first at Caernarfon Police Station and again on May 15, 2023, on suspicion of harassment and sending malicious communications), suspended from work for five months, experiencing hallucinations about spiders, developing Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and feeling suicidal, considering jumping off a breakwater. The victim became a recluse and questioned the point of living. Police identified Jones as the perpetrator, and on September 11, 2023, informed the victim there would be no further action against her.
Pleaded guilty. No previous convictions. Intense jealousy and insecurity cited. Impact on children and father with stroke noted. Indefinite restraining order imposed banning contact with victim.

On an unspecified date, Julian Treadway, 52, of Ffordd Hyfrydle, Talysarn, went to his former partner's flat in Caernarfon after hearing she had been out drinking with another man. He arrived with a hammer, banged on the door shouting 'let me in, let me in. I know he's in there, with you', and threatened to kill the man inside. When the door opened, he pushed his partner back onto a bed while holding the hammer. A resident heard shouting and saw him pinning the other man down. The incident was captured on CCTV. Police attended but neither victim provided statements. Injuries to the partner were minor. Treadway claimed he was concerned for his vulnerable partner and made a foolish decision to take the hammer.
Admitted possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and assault. Five prior convictions for eight offences, last in 2010, no previous violence. Assessed as low risk of reoffending and moderate risk of harm. Judge noted he used the hammer to cause fear or threaten, but satisfied he is capable of rehabilitation and this was an isolated incident.

Robat Davies, 35, of Ty’n y Pistyll, Trawsfynydd, was stopped by police while driving a Vauxhall car on Twthill in Caernarfon on 5 July 2025. Roadside swipes and laboratory testing showed that he had cocaine in his blood exceeding the specified limit.
Pleaded guilty to drug driving charge. Must also pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and £340 surcharge to fund victim services.

In the bedroom, they discovered cocaine valued at £9,000 to £16,000 if sold in one-gram deals, cannabis worth £645, scales, and a mobile phone. Analysis of the phone revealed messages confirming his involvement in the supply of these Class A and Class B drugs. Pilkington separated from his partner and dealt drugs due to financial needs. He works for a plastering company and prioritises his son with autism and ADHD.
Pleaded involvement in drug supply. Judge noted defendant is turning his life around and on path to better life. Prior 16-month jail term for domestic offence in April 2024.
Glen Stone

Glen Stone indecently assaulted a girl under 14 in Rhyl, North Wales, several decades ago. The victim was alone with Stone on a sofa when he lay behind her, put his hand down her pants, and touched her intimately, causing her pain and fear. The offence came to light years later when the victim read newspaper reports about Stone's other sexual offences and came forward. Stone initially denied the offence but pleaded guilty before trial. The assault had a profound effect on the victim, leading to a violent relationship, alcohol issues, and ongoing fear.
Pleaded guilty to indecent assault. Previously jailed for four years in 2023 for historic sex offences against two young girls. Health issues include broken back, coronary heart disease, diabetes, angina, and asthma. Ten-year restraining order imposed prohibiting contact with victim.
Luke Williams
Causing grievous bodily harm with intent *

Luke Williams, 30, of Chester Road, Broughton, launched a savage and prolonged attack on complete stranger Alec Regan in the early hours of August 6, 2025, at The New Glynne Arms pub on Chester Road, Broughton. The 20-minute incident, which came out of nowhere, involved Williams repeatedly punching and kicking Mr Regan, including between his legs, using his head, throwing a bar stool and a bubblegum machine at him, removing some of his clothes, dragging him across the floor, and filming the victim. Williams had consumed a deadly cocktail of cocaine, ketamine, and alcohol prior to the attack. Mr Regan sustained horrific injuries including a bleed on the brain, fractured nose and jaw, loss of two teeth, and damage requiring removal of nine teeth; he spent six days in hospital and fears for his life. The attack was captured in detail on CCTV.
Pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Branded a dangerous offender by the judge. Eligible for parole after serving two thirds of the sentence. Positive references from prison officers while on remand at HMP Berwyn.

Andrew Stockman
Controlling coercive behaviour in an intimate family relationship *

Andrew Stockman, 54, of Llay Place Avenue, Llay, Wrexham, subjected his wife Sandra to years of domestic abuse, including frequent physical attacks such as kicking, punching, strangling, and giving her black eyes, as well as verbal and emotional abuse. The abuse occurred over their 30-year marriage, often when he was under the influence of alcohol, happening every month. Incidents included smashing household items, spitting in her face, holding her at knife-point forcing her to climb out a window, and threats to kill her, himself, or others if she left. She tried to leave multiple times, including selling their house and becoming homeless, but he emotionally blackmailed her. The abuse culminated in a 'horrendous' incident in Benidorm, Spain, over Christmas 2024, where he threw her out without her passport after a woman she cared for died, leaving her wandering the streets. He also threatened her new partner and their son. In April 2025, he phoned a friend claiming he had a gun and they would die together. Prior conviction for driving with excess alcohol in 2005.
Pleaded guilty. Given indefinite domestic abuse protection order and must pay statutory surcharge. Judge described it as 'an appalling history of abuse'. Defendant attending AA meetings and addressing issues in custody.
Jamie Gallagher

Matthew Williams

Matthew Williams, a 34-year-old man, launched a string of violent attacks across Wales, assaulting nine people including five police officers. He first attacked his then-partner in Penrhyndeudraeth, Gwynedd, after drinking Stella lager, punching her face, pinning her on a sofa, following her outside, putting her in a headlock, and driving off in his white Toyota. Upon arrest at his mother’s home, he threatened and kicked officers, showing vile behaviour. At Ysbyty Gwynedd in Bangor, he made further threats to officers. While on bail, he committed more offences in South Wales, including in Kenfig Hill, Bridgend, where he assaulted a couple and his then-partner, and at Prince of Wales Hospital where he assaulted officers with racist remarks.
Must complete rehabilitation work or face immediate prison. Defence solicitor stated he suffered trauma and intoxicated himself to deal with demons. Three-year restraining order imposed to protect one victim.
Kyran Wingfield-West
Rape of a child under 13 *

Kyran Wingfield-West, aged 17 at the time, raped a girl under 13 twice in a car park in north west Wales several years ago. The offences were discovered when the victim's father found messages indicating the girl was concerned about pregnancy after having sex with him. The defendant had asked if he should bring a condom, to which she agreed. When police became involved, he instructed the girl to delete a messaging app. The victim stated that the ordeal has tainted her impression of her home and was difficult for her father.
Pleaded guilty to both counts. Sentence reduced due to immaturity, mental health difficulties, and guilty pleas. Also subject to a restraining order, sex offender notification requirements, and a sexual harm prevention order, both indefinite. Judge noted learning disability but interference with police investigation.

Joshua Hughes was involved in dealing Class A drugs, including cocaine, ketamine, and cannabis. On December 3, 2022, police stopped his vehicle for a defective headlight and found cocaine worth about £600, along with snapbags. Despite being under investigation, he was stopped again in April 2023, where more cocaine, ketamine, snapbags, and cash were discovered, indicating money laundering. He also possessed 16.3 grams of cocaine intended for supply, potentially yielding £1,700 in street deals. Hughes admitted to choosing to sell drugs to fund his own habit.

Rhianne Brookes

Evidence from phones showed her participation in drug supply activities. She also had skunk cannabis found in a shared location, and her involvement was linked to her drug addiction and debt.
Admitted to drug offences including supply of cocaine, ketamine, and cannabis. She had a drug addiction and a £16,000 debt, but is the primary carer for a young child. The judge determined there was a realistic prospect of rehabilitation and potential harm to another if she were imprisoned.

James O'Connor was running a mobile phone drug line under names like 'SamManc', offering heroin, crack cocaine, cocaine, ketamine, and cannabis between May 29 and August 12, 2025. He used the same phone for personal calls, including to his mum and probation service, and for street dealing. He was arrested on August 11, 2025, at a property in Nant Hall Road, Prestatyn, and gave mainly no comment answers during questioning.
Pleaded guilty; was on a community order for production of cannabis at the time; judge noted he used the phone for personal calls, making it easy for police to link him to the drugs.

He messaged them inappropriately, including comments on their appearance, discussions about sex, and requests for intimate photos, despite being aware of their stated ages. He sent an intimate photo of himself and continued the conversations even after the decoys highlighted their underage status.
Admitted five child sex offences. Defendant is a 40-year-old Romanian man who works in a hotel in Gwynedd and expressed genuine remorse. Judge noted he was a sad and lonely individual seeking company, and that he could be rehabilitated.

Kirk McBeth stole £38,000 from the sale of a caravan owned by Philip Horton. The caravan, purchased for £67,277 in September 2021 and located at Greenacres holiday park in Porthmadog, was agreed to be sold by McBeth for £45,000 including £7,000 for decking in May 2022. It was sold in September 2022, but McBeth failed to pass on the payment, leaving Horton in financial difficulties and living off credit cards. The theft involved deception, including claims of a frozen bank account.

On March 8, 2025, Mitchell Morgan punched the woman in the head, face, and body, bit her neck, dragged her from the bed, stamped on her chest, and used a bread knife to cut off her underwear in an act of gratuitous degradation. The victim sustained injuries including a black eye, chipped tooth, bruised shoulder, tender ribs, and a neck bite. Another man in the flat intervened by hitting Morgan.
Pleaded guilty to assault causing actual bodily harm and sexual assault; also admitted breaching a restraining order. The defendant has a history of alcoholism, significant liver disease, and Type II diabetes. The judge imposed sex offender notification requirements for 10 years and a new restraining order for 10 years.

On June 21, 2025, police officers conducted a welfare check on Sarah Prendergast in Rhyl while she was intoxicated. A disturbance involving two men arguing and a crowd gathering occurred nearby. When officers attempted to move her away, she struck an officer lightly on the back, leading to her arrest. During the arrest, she stamped on one officer's foot and kicked another in both legs.

A dangerous driver who had spent years on the run was arrested following a 160mph motorway chase. Patrick Connors was spotted in a BMW car in Leicestershire in February 2025. Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but he drove away, reaching speeds of up to 160mph on the M1 and M69 motorways.
Also known as William Ward. Had spent years on the run. Previously failed to appear in court charged with receiving £21,000 from a rogue trader scam.

Andrew Phipps

Andrew Phipps, during a mental health crisis, threatened to kill his neighbour of 10 years after she visited his flat on 23rd March 2025 and noticed knives on the floor. He armed himself with a knife and chisel, shouted threats including 'I am going to kill you', stabbed at her front door, banged on it, and waved weapons while arguing with others and banging on other residents' doors.
Pleaded guilty to making threats to kill, criminal damage, and affray. Suffering from mental health issues, diabetes, and learning difficulties. Judge noted he was in a relapse of mental health issues and had been remanded in custody for more than four months.
Jonathan Charles Evans

Jonathan Evans abused two boys over several years at different locations, including cupping his hands over one victim's genitals, which the victim initially thought was banter but later recognised as abuse, and sending explicit photos of himself via Snapchat to another victim while repeatedly asking for naked images in return. The offences involved grooming and had a significant emotional, mental, social, and professional impact on the victims.
Abuse of trust as a former RAF Air Cadet instructor and school worker; first time before a court; delay in prosecution from 2020 to 2024; judge noted grooming and offences against several victims over several years.
Kane Braisdell

Kane Braisdell was selling cocaine from his flat in Caia Park, Wrexham, for about seven weeks in May and June 2025. He sent bulk messages advertising cocaine to around 200 people at a time and took orders. Police traced his phone, arrested him on June 26, 2025, and found six wraps of crack cocaine in a Kinder Egg, £300 in cash, a dealer's list, scales, and his phone during a search of his home.
Admitted to the offences. The judge noted he was under pressure due to his mother's addiction and has not re-offended. Ordered to complete 25 days of rehabilitation activity and a six-month drug rehabilitation programme.
Timothy Field
Causing death by careless driving *

Eight-month suspended prison sentence and disqualified from driving for two years
Timothy Field, 81, of Red Lane, Tregodva, Shropshire, was driving a red Jeep in a Tesco car park in Newtown, Powys, on March 18, 2024, when his foot slipped from the brake onto the accelerator and became wedged, causing the vehicle to lurch forward and collide with David Lumb, 78. Mr Lumb was knocked to the ground and run over, sustaining severe injuries including tissue damage and extensive bleeding in his left leg. He was hospitalised, developed sepsis, and died 17 days later on April 4, 2024.
The judge, Her Honour Nicola Jones, suspended the sentence for 12 months and highlighted Mrs Lumb's call for forgiveness and leniency. Field has given up driving and must pass an extended retest before driving again.
Mohammad Anwar
Conspiracy to steal and money laundering *

Mohammad Anwar was involved in an organised crime group that stole large quantities of fuel from depots across North Wales and other areas, including Iceland's depot in Deeside, Parcelforce in Sandycroft, Certas Energy in Wrexham, and GD Jones & Son on Anglesey. The group used accomplices, cloned plates, and electric pumps to siphon fuel into containers at night, which was then sold, with potential catastrophic risks due to unsafe transportation.

On July 13, 2024, at The Black Lion Inn in Bersham, Wrexham, Martin Pritchard entered the pub and demanded car keys from his sister who had been in a car park altercation. When asked to leave by the complainant, Mark Robertson, Pritchard refused initially and then threatened him with a knife, stating he would cut his face off and slice him. Police arrested him the following day and found a Stanley knife believed to be his.
Pritchard was trying to help his sister after she was involved in a car park incident. He had the knife for work purposes. The judge noted his family and work responsibilities but highlighted the offence occurred in a pub with children present and his poor record. A restraining order was issued prohibiting contact with the victim and entering the pub for five years.
John Haden

John Haden smashed the window of a hair salon in Wrexham city centre on June 12, 2025, showering two women inside with glass and causing injuries that required hospital treatment. She denied the offences in a police interview on October 22, 2023.

The offences occurred between January 29 and March 10, 2025, involving attempts and successful thefts in various locations. He was arrested after police spotted his suspicious car in Prestatyn, where he was found with a rucksack containing a Stanley knife, screwdrivers, drill bits, cloned number plates, and other tools. Accomplices were involved, and the stolen vehicles were intended for dismantling and sale of parts abroad.

Alexander Jones's Belgian Malinois dog attacked a mother and her four-year-old son in Llandudno on March 5, 2024, while they were on a street near the town centre. The dog bit the boy, and when the mother tried to intervene, she was also bitten. The attack was witnessed by the boy's three-year-old sister. The mother hit the dog with a drinks bottle in self-defence, and bystanders and police assisted. There were two prior incidents involving the dog in August and November 2023. Jones obtained the dog for his own protection due to his vulnerabilities.
The defendant has significant mental health issues and vulnerabilities, including being targeted by a criminal gang. He was ordered to attend ten days of rehabilitation activity, a six-month drug rehabilitation programme, and a 12-month mental health treatment programme. He is banned from controlling a dog for life.

Ethan Jordan Jones, in a toxic relationship, assaulted his partner multiple times. On January 13, he burned her wrist with a lighter while she slept. On January 20, he grabbed her hair, punched her, and hit her with a mobile phone after questioning a text message. In another incident, he strangled her by placing his hands around her throat and punched her in the stomach, dragged her by her hair, bit her on the face, leg, and arm, and kneed her thigh. The assaults led to her hospitalisation with injuries including headaches, nausea, a lump on her head, bruises, and a bite wound.
Pleaded guilty to four assaults causing actual bodily harm and intentional strangulation. Judge noted he has deep-seated jealousy issues and is not emotionally resilient.
Kevin Evans

Kevin Evans, dressed in a balaclava and carrying a machete, poured petrol through the letterbox of a house in Cae Llwybr, Caernarfon, and set it alight on December 9, 2024, as part of a vendetta. The occupants fled the property, which sustained £7,000 in damage to the front door and porch. Evans was identified by a victim, arrested at his home where he was washing petrol-soiled clothes, and CCTV footage confirmed his actions, including purchasing petrol and carrying a weapon.
Pleaded guilty to arson. Suffered a brain injury prior to the offence, which may have influenced his actions. A ten-year restraining order was imposed prohibiting contact with victims.
Barthomiej Swedroski

Barthomiej Swedroski assaulted his wife, Martyna Swedroski, multiple times at the Atlea Estate in New Broughton, Wrexham. In the first incident on November 5, 2024, he hit her several times in the face, causing a nosebleed and a scratch on her right eyebrow. In January 2025, during an argument, he pushed her off their bed, grabbed her head, hit it on the floor three or four times, and spat in her face. In the third incident on April 10, 2025, he grabbed her arms, spat in her face twice, pulled her down the stairs by her legs, punched her about ten times in the kitchen, pulled her hair, hit her head, and strangled her. She managed to call the police.
Admitted three separate offences of assault. The judge noted aggravating factors including offences committed under the influence of alcohol and degradation due to spitting. He must also pay a £154 court surcharge.
Adam Holland

Adam Holland, of Feather Street, Flint, threatened his landlord, David Williams, with a 12-inch knife after being issued an eviction notice for unpaid rent dating back six months. The incident took place on September 9, 2023, outside The New Inn in Llangynog, where Holland approached Williams, waved the knife while shouting threats such as 'I will have you', and kicked the victim's car, causing minor damage. Williams feared he would be stabbed and reported the incident to the police, leading to Holland's arrest. Holland claimed he carried the knife for his own protection but later admitted his actions were wrong.
Pleaded guilty to threatening a person with a knife in a public place. Judge described his actions as 'frankly ridiculous' and noted his mental health difficulties and history of trauma. No separate penalty for criminal damage to the victim's car.

Described as low risk by the probation service and keen to cooperate. Was struggling financially and had caring responsibilities. Involved in the crimes but did not take a lead role.
Michael Eastwood
Causing serious injury by careless driving *

Michael Eastwood, 78, of Lon Bedw, Llandudno Junction, was driving a Honda car when he struck a woman on a zebra crossing near the Next store in Llandudno on December 9, 2023, at about 5.25pm. The victim, who had just left work, suffered devastating injuries including multiple fractures below her left knee requiring plating, two broken foot bones, a fractured ankle, and a head wound needing eight staples. She required extensive hospital treatment, was housebound for about four months, and continues to experience pain, anxiety, and reduced confidence.
Extremely remorseful, no previous convictions, and a momentary lapse of concentration while checking behind him as he changed lanes.
Michael Parry

Michael Parry, 40, of Tyddyn Uchaf, Llangernyw, stole from three properties between October and December 2024. He posed as a gardener and gutter clearer to gain access to vulnerable and elderly people's homes. In one case, he used the toilet in a victim's home for an extended period and stole items. He also ransacked another property, taking numerous items of monetary and sentimental value. The victims included an 88-year-old woman in Abergele and her neighbours, who had recommended him based on his apparent helpfulness.
Genuinely remorseful and apologised to the victims. Had a lead role in the crimes and did nothing to stop them. Judge noted he was hard working but stole from victims while using their toilet. He had one prior conviction for using a vehicle without insurance in 2024, and two cautions in 2009 for fraud and non-dwelling burglary.
Gica Matei
Knowingly entering the UK in breach of a deportation order *

Gica Matei, 33, of no fixed address, was stopped at Holyhead on April 23, 2025, while attempting to enter the UK despite an indefinite deportation order issued on November 5, 2019. He claimed he only intended to stay for two days to visit his family in Nottingham, where his brother, sister, wife, and four-year-old daughter reside. Matei had previously breached the order at the same port in July 2020 and was living in Ireland as a homeless delivery driver and cleaner. He stated he could not return to Romania due to debts related to his mother's funeral, rent, and food, and feared serious physical harm from creditors.
Pleaded guilty to knowingly entering the UK in breach of a deportation order. The judge imposed a deterrent sentence, noting he will serve up to half the term, and that he mistakenly thought the deportation order lasted only two years.

Dean Mears broke into Cathy Flynn's home on Cefndy Road, Rhyl, on October 24, 2024, by smashing a window. On January 25, 2025, she stole chilled items worth £22.80 from Sainsbury’s in Llandudno, and on January 29, 2025, she stole more chilled items worth £80 from the same store. She breached bail by failing to appear in court on March 17, 2025.
Pleaded guilty to five thefts and breaching bail conditions. Has 28 previous convictions, 25 of which were theft-related. Judge acknowledged her vulnerability due to alcoholism and noted that prison had been beneficial, urging her to avoid previous associates to prevent further offending.
Kyle Martin John Parry

Kyle Martin John Parry, a 29-year-old formerly from the Caernarfon area, was jailed for raping a teenage girl in historic offences. The crimes involved sexual activity with a child and sexual assault by penetration. He appeared in court, where the victim demonstrated great bravery by reading her statement directly to him.
Had previous convictions for sexually assaulting a five-year-old boy in 2017. The victim showed tremendous courage in court and read her Victim Personal Statement.
