Mary McCann was driving a Vauxhall Astra with three children while under the influence of alcohol. At around 11.10pm on August 9, 2021, on the M1 near Milton Keynes, between junctions 14 and 15, she was driving at 72mph in a 60mph zone. Her car drifted into the lorry's lane, leading to a collision that caused her vehicle to spin. Her children, four-year-old Lilly McCann and 10-year-old Smaller Peter McCann, were not wearing seatbelts; Lilly was thrown from the car and found on the roadside, while Smaller was flung around the backseat and found slumped in the footwell. Both children died at the scene. A two-year-old girl passenger was not badly hurt, and the lorry driver, Simon Denton, suffered whiplash.
Pleaded guilty to the charges. Has complex post-traumatic stress disorder. Judge Francis Sheridan noted that the true punishment lies within her and emphasised the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Tommy Mitchell, 25, of Skeltons Drove, Beck Row, Suffolk, used a stolen Land Rover Defender to attempt to steal a cashpoint (ATM) from inside the Nisa convenience store in Stortford Road, Clavering, soon after 3am on December 3, 2023. Shutters were cut to allow entry, tow ropes tied to the machine, and multiple attempts made to pull it out, but failed, raising the alarm. Significant damage caused shop closure for four days and repairs costing thousands.
Admitted the Clavering offence and similar offences across force areas. DNA match from steering wheel of stolen vehicle (one billion to one) and tow strap serial number linked to another theft.
Trad Almaghrabi

Trad Almaghrabi, 24, from Uxbridge, drove his blue Mercedes AMG C250 at up to 146mph through a 50mph roadworks limit on the M40 near Beaconsfield, crashing into a Volkswagen Golf at junction 2 and killing driver Naweed Hussain, 27, instantly while seriously injuring the passenger. He fled the scene on foot towards Beaconsfield Services. Police found nitrous oxide, cannabis, and a grinder in and under his car.

Later that night, Rowe assaulted the man, stole his card, and withdrew hundreds of pounds from his account. The victim suffered facial injuries. Rowe was arrested on May 2 and charged the next day.
Pleaded guilty to robbery. Detective Constable Matt Bly stated that Rowe's early guilty plea reflected the strong evidence against him.

Peter Hartley, a 50-year-old maintenance man at Pinewood Studios, planted a miniature motion-activated spy camera behind a toilet in the ladies' toilet on the set of a new James Bond movie on June 21, 2019, to record women. The camera was discovered by a freelancer who noticed light reflecting from the lens. Hartley has prior convictions for similar offences dating back to 2008, including placing cameras in a Coventry council building in 2009 and a leisure centre changing rooms in 2016. He admitted the offence was for sexual gratification, linked to stress including his partner's hospital tests for cancer.

He was the welfare officer and director of football at Aylesbury Town Corinthians FC. Discovered by National Crime Agency investigation. None of the offences related to anyone connected to the club.
Admitted making 182 category A images, 76 category B images and 227 category C images, and distributing one category A moving image. Also subject to a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for 10 years and required to sign the sex offenders register for 10 years. Judge Francis Sheridan noted his role as safeguarding lead at Aylesbury Town Corinthians FC.

Dromenagh School, located on Seven Hills Road near Iver, was a boarding school that closed in 1996. As a houseparent there, Jones exploited his position of trust to assault the boys. On 15 September, he pleaded guilty at Aylesbury Crown Court to nine counts of indecent assault on a boy under the age of 14 years and five counts of gross indecency with a boy under the age of 14 years. His sentencing followed on 22 December at the same court, where Judge [Name not specified in article] imposed the custodial term, reflecting the gravity of the abuse inflicted on the vulnerable children. The victims were described as 'young vulnerable boys' who showed immense courage in coming forward after decades. Detective Constable Jo Dolder from the Child Abuse Investigation Unit at Aylesbury Police Station commented: 'While this sentence will never change what happened to the victims, I hope it gives them a resolution after all of these years and a sense that Jones has now faced the consequences of his actions.' She further added: 'It has taken the victims... a great deal of courage to come forward. I hope this sentence today sends out a message to all victims of sexual offences that Thames Valley Police takes all reports of this nature seriously and we will do everything we can to ensure offenders face justice.' The case was investigated by Thames Valley Police's Child Abuse Investigation Unit, highlighting their commitment to pursuing historic sexual abuse allegations. Ben Pitelen, a former Stevenage-based police officer with Hertfordshire Constabulary's Roads Policing Unit, was involved in offences including police corruption relating to inappropriate sexual communication with a third party and making indecent images of children. CCTV recorded him reaching speeds above 70mph, driving on the wrong side of the road, overtaking dangerously, crossing to the other carriageway, and colliding with an oncoming Nissan Juke, which was shunted into a Ford Transit Van. A mother and her six-year-old daughter were injured; the mother suffered life-changing injuries requiring long-term therapy. Small fled on foot and later lied that he had sold the vehicle two days prior.
Pleaded guilty to one count of dangerous driving and one of perverting the course of justice. Banned from driving for six years and must pass an extended driving test. Lies and failure to accept responsibility increased sentence.

Jawaid was arrested and charged, and later pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A drugs.
